    I've got the 'lowly' Swift 1.5VVT on a 2009. I have to disagree with your comment about these cars being difficult to modify. There are tons of mods available for the Swifts, if you know where to look. I have a Simota genuine cold air intake, HKS Hi-Silent Muffler and a custom remap (EGR off, and mapped for 98+ Octane fuel). Made 127hp on the rolling road (stock is 102hp), so technically a Swift Sport 1.6 killer.. haha! Have it on cheap Eibach lowering springs and is an absolute blast to drive, with cracking handling.

    I owned a Suzuki ignis Sport between 2007 and 2018 and then moved on to the later Swift Sport from 2018. These Suzuki's are relatively cheap to buy, rugged, reliable, versatile, fun to drive, cheap to run and do not attract the wrong attention. I've used mine to commute to work, road trip, enjoy over the weekend and even run on track. They are one of the best kept secrets out there and I cannot think of a good reason why you should not buy one.

    • @calebleong5853

      Which was more fun? Ignis Sport or Swift sport(which year was it?)

    • @philipjamesparsons
      @philipjamesparsons Před 3 lety +3

      @@calebleong5853 Good question. Well, the Swift, is more refined, more compliant suspension and a better all round car. But, to answer your question, the Ignis was more fun (only just). They are very raw cars to drive and every time I drove it made me feel like I was in a rally. That could be a good or bad thing. The Recaro, seats were great, I miss them. The Swift, reviewed is more refined than the Ignis, but not as much as the later model Swift's.

    This generation of swift sport is the most stock car you can get nowadays for the money. You can find a decent one for around 3000 euros. Not the most practical (small trunk, no spare wheel), not the most economical (needs only premium petrol and its not intended to be driven in low revs) but on the other hand:
    - the robust feel it gives you as a driver, from the beefy steering wheel, seat, gear knob and so on, it easily gives the impression thats an extension of you
    - the way is going into corners with the factory suspension, very little roll, sometimes a bit of liftoff oversteer, not boring at all
    - the power is enough but go above 4k rpm to enjoy it
    - the looks are always subjective but its not that common on the street, big 17 inch wheels, 2 exhaust pipes, tail wing. Japanese is not going unnoticed
    So enjoy it while you can and because its more accessible than ever

    Ive owned a zc32s in the past and the mrs currently owns a zc31s and we absolutely love it! Such great little pocket rockets. The only downside is we live in New Zealand and the prices for cars here are pretty ridiculous, that same model with similar mileage will cost around $10k give or take.
    Cheapest you could find would be around $4k? But with over 250k kms on the clock. We paid $7k for my mrs 31s a '07 model manual with around 120k kms at the time. Great cars other than the price here in NZ

      I bought my 32s for SGD40+k (SGD and NZD are almost 1:1), and i can only drive it for a remaining 3 and a half years before my certificate of entitlement ends in 2022.
      To continue driving past that, i need to pay maybe another $40-50k in order to own the car for another 10 years.

      Driving on the Autobahn is also not really good for fuel consumption. At 220km/h (~210 with GPS) it consumes 24 liters @7.200rpm, even at lower speeds the consumption is high due to the missing sixth gear. But this car wasn't designed for the highway anyway, so not so bad.

      That's what I thought as well before owning it. I bought it back in November 2020 as a stop-gap before moving to a Honda Integra Type R DC5, but I was pleasantly surprised. This little car actually earns the "sport" moniker. The engine is genuinely Rev-happy, and the front-end grips awesomely. It is also quite rigid under cornering. The only thing I dislike about the Suzuki Swift Sport is that its gearbox shifter is a bit rubbery at times, especially when it is cold.
