To Make Ragi Roti
Ragi Flour - 1 Cup ( 250 ml )
Rice Flour - 3/4 Cup
Salt - 1/2 Tsp
Oil - 1 Tsp
Hot Water
Method:
1. Take ragi flour, rice flour, salt in large bowl and mix.
2. Add oil to the mixture and mix well.
3. Now add in hot water and prepare the dough. Knead it gently.
4. Cover the bowl with a lid and keep the dough aside for 10 mins.
5. Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into chapatis.
6. Cut them into a perfect circle with a cutter if required.
7. Heat a tawa and cook the rotis on a medium flame on both sides.
8. Apply ghee on the cooked ragi roti and serve them hot with any side dish of your choice.
Ragi, known as finger millets is a power house of nutrition. There are multiple recipes we can make with it especially when it comes to Indian cuisine. So this recipe is a main course recipe, an Indian bread made with ragi flour and a little rice flour (added for better binding) basically. I have tries to show an easiest possible method to make the rotis and cook them instantly. Follow this procedure for best taste and soft rotis. You can serve these with any side dish of your choice, but in this video, I put them together with some tomato thokku. Do give this a try and enjoy.

You can mix chopped onion, grated carrots, chopped dill leaves, methi leaves, even crushed sprouts😂chopped Green chillies, ginger, jeera, grated fresh coconut!!!! Coriander leaves!!! Try it once and see🙏 thanks for sharing our state Karnataka 's rotti 👍👍🙏❤️use baking paper to press rotti aatta then transfer pressed rotti on hot tawa! Remove the paper slowly after 2 seconds and red use it😂don't forget to grase the paper before using it😊

No need to mixing rice flout. I do the same phulkas without roce flour and they come out really well especially if you use ghee the whole flavour changes. Also ragi roti in karnataka is the one with onioins ,chilly and corriander leaves. You can some day try or show that too..

N then u can knead iteasily wuthout feeling the heat of the flour

Wonderful video! But I have a really hard time to succeed with this recipe. They get hard end dry... The dough is smooth and nice. But in the pan they don't puff up. I tried different temperatures but with out any success. What am I doing wrong?
Oh no! Please use really hot water to bind the dough and knead it nicely with some more oil if you cannot get it properly. Kneading is the key, pls try this next time😊🙏

Only then the roti will be smooth. Adding hot water partially cooks the ragi. So it will be so soft when rotis are done

Please tell thebrand name of ragi flour. Because real colour of ragi is red but I buy ragi flour frommarket its colour is dark grey what is the readon is it fake?

This receipe did not come out well. The flour started cracking while kneading. It was hard after making. Should we add wheat flour instead of rice flour? Pl advise
Hot water and proper kneading. Rotis should be rolled out a little thicker, not thin like our chapatis or phulkas

Nice recipe but not useful for diabetics 😢 me for eg. Rice flour is not permitted so i use another method using only ragi flour.
You can use buckwheat flour or any other healthier alternative if you don't want wheat flour too😊
