David Bowie brings Glass Spider Tour to Portland at Civic Stadium - August 14, 1987

On August 14, 1987, David Bowie brought his ‘Glass Spider Tour’ to Portland for a performance at the Civic Stadium (now Providence Park).
The elaborate stage setup took a large crew a full day to build, and the performance proved to be too loud for some neighbors in the Northwest Portland area.
Ahead of the show, KATU’s team talked to fans who lined up for tickets, and reported on how Seattle and Portland were working together to help artists bring their tours to the Pacific Northwest.

LoL The guy smoking while, working... The stadium is almost non-smoking with limited smoking areas near a few exists. ( Although, the stagehands vape now.) I worked there recently...I think, some of these people-fans & employees are current employees at Providence Park (previously Civic Stadium) 🏟️. They look a bit grayer now... Great archive piece! 😂
