I’m sure your dad was a good man but is that the attitude to have to send someone packing? Many many Jehovah’s Witnessses used to be Catholic. But they left because they were not teaching the truth of God’s Word. Even now saying not to use God’s Name in liturgy. Not good.

Who translates in more languages than google?
Why does the New World Translation add the word "other" at Colossians 1:16 ? To make CLEAR that "all other things" came through (or after) Jesus as Jehovah's "master worker" (Prov 8:30), for John1:3 states: "All things came into existence through him (both the visible and invisible, the material and spirit realm), and apart from him not even one thing (or created thing) came into existence."
So Jehovah God created Jesus as his "firstborn of all creation", whereby "all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth" through him. The King James Bible has many places whereby it adds words to clarify a statement, such as John 9:9, whereby it adds the word "he" at the end of the scripture:
"Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am (he, or Greek ego eimi, the same two Greek words Jesus Christ said at John 8:58 (accurately saying "I have been"), that is translated by the King James Bible as "I am", and certain ones try to connect it with Exodus 3:14 of God being the "I AM" and say "this proves Jesus is God", but which is inaccurate on both counts, for at Ex 3:14, the name Jehovah accurately means "I Will Become What I Choose to become").
Going back up to John 9:1, the King James Bible reads, with the brackets letting a reader know that these words are not there in Greek: "And as (Jesus) passed by, he saw a man which was blind from (his) birth." At Colossians 1:13, the word "us" is added, being implied.
At Colossians 1:18, the word "things" is added, and Colossians 1:19, the word "Father" is added, while at Colossians 1:20, the words "I say" and "they be" are added, and at Colossians 1:21, the word "your" is added, to make clear what is being written, being implied though not written down.
If a person is sincere and wants "the truth", they can read some of the scriptures in a Greek interlinear and see the need for additional words to make clear what is being expressed from Greek into the target language of English, for accurate translation requires taking one language and making it clear to a person who speaks only the target language, which in this case is English.
So, the word "other" at Colossians 1:16 helps to make clear what the apostle Paul wrote, but which there are those who do as Jesus said at Matthew 23:24: "Blind guides, who strain out the gnat but gulp down the camel !"
Yes many don’t want to admit that PAS/PANTA can imply other and their own Bible translations have examples of this which they don’t want to deal with. They make what is implicit…explicit.
They don’t like to acknowledge that “over” is not in their translations as you can see so many like the NIV who have that word in Colossians 1:15 which would definitely count as an addition. Not in the Greek at all! Oops!
And if Jesus isn’t the firstborn….then who is??
Now that we know these truths doesnt mean we are to look for JWs and start fights with them

Yes not many persons in one man!
It was common to say one and not mean more than one In Hebrew.
I remember speaking about this with a friend of mine who teaches Hebrew and knows Biblical Hebrew and was at one time a Trinitarian. He once wrote me this below:

If I asked an Israeli kid age 6 to count to 5, he was say "echad, snahyim, schloshah, arbahah, hhamisha etc." "Echad" is simply the word for "one."
Like English it can be used to describe one orange or one dozen of oranges. Note some uses of echad in the Bible:
Genesis 11:1 Now the whole world had one (echad) language and a common speech.
Genesis 22:3 ........as a burnt offering on one (echad) of the mountains...
Exodus 11:1 .........I will bring one (echad) more plague on Pharoah...
Leviticus 23:24 ....... on the first (echad) day of the seventh month you are to...

So we see the plurality is not in the number one (echad) itself but what it is describing, “a dozen,” “a cluster,” “a herd.” Two dozen, two clusters, two herds…
Seems more like a confession that JWs are Jesus' disciples because they go door to door with the good news about God's Kingdom.

As a JW I find Sam's discussions both frustrating and faith strengthening.
I especially enjoy the fact he reads scripture that absolutely explains his "conundrum", yet ignores that aspect of the verse.
How are both Jehovah and Jesus "coming quickly"?

How is it Christ is head of the church/ congregation?

Christ is appointed as head BY HIS FATHER, right?
So when he comes in "the glory of his father", what is this saying?
Is he YHWH? Or is he acting with the authority YHWH gave him?

God puts all things under Christ's feet.
When Christ "comes quickly", he is doing so in the "glory of his father", in his authority. Like every other account of YHWH acting using another.

No one is saying that others will judge and be God. Just like some will rule with Jesus as kings and not be God either.

Well first of all we are happy to discuss topics with others such as these if it’s respectful and doesn’t become combative and prideful and when people attack and name call and show themselves to be arrogant and haughty we do what the Bible tells us to do and avoid that.
I think what many do is feel that because Jesus does something that Jehovah does he must be God too or part of a trinity. Not true. God can give power and authority and his spirit to others to do things he can and it’s his will too. Doesn’t make them the same being as God. Ask anything and I will try to help answer it from the Bible. I saw the vid. Anything let me know or question you have. Happy to help.

It’s not the tongue of non Jw’s but the Jw’s and their religion itself that added the word “Other” 4 times in the Bible and made false prophecies that world was going to end in 1914 then in 1975 but this is what is written Deuteronomy 18:22. When the prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord , If the thing follow not , nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shall not be afraid of him. And this is what is written about adding to the words of God. Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto to the word which I command you neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Revelation 22:18 For I testify that unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. What you have to ask yourself is can the Greek PAS/PANTA allow for the range of “other”? Look at what Sam doesn’t bring up.
What do we see here?
Acts 5:29. “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”-KJV
Luke 13:2, “And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?”-NKJV
Philippians 2:9, “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all OTHER names,”-NLT

There is a big difference between someone who is just trying to understand Bible prophecy and one who claims a direct communication with God or a miraculous foresight.
For one example, Oral Roberts claimed to be told by a 900 foot Jesus that he was going to be used to find a cure for cancer and people should send him 8 million dollars or God was going to kill him. His cancer medical center was only open for a few years.
This is a clear example of one who meets the requirements of a "false prophet," since he was not just interpreting Scriptural prophecies but he claimed a direct communication from God which proved untrue. (Deuteronomy 13:1)
I hear this talk all the time. What about early Christian disciples of Jesus who had wrong expectations?
Many Four Square pastors who have misunderstood bible prophecy as well. Chuck Smith from Calvary Chapel in 1978 predicted the rapture by 1981. How come you don’t mention your fellow believers like him?
