Volvo 122 Transmission Teardown Part 1

- In part one of a two part series we're pulling the trans out of my 5 cylinder swapped Volvo 122. I've had some minor issues for quite some time with the T5 transmission in this car, lets see if we can get to the bottom of them.

Dog tax is the most important part of shop time.
Instead of expensive offset dowels, how about going up a size and using old drill bit shanks as dowel pins?
You could certainly do that or something similar
How did you get the t5 transmission mounted to the white block? I'm interested in swapping my volvo 244 with that setup. Just probably trubo would be my way to go.
There's a company deeworks.ca, I got the adapter from them. You use a 960 automatic bellhousing, and I chose to use a tilton hydraulic throw out bearing.

My dad owned the oldest volvo dealership in the country it folding when he got sick I was 15 but I built a few cars in my time I'm 61 now is the 122 tail shaft broke does it move under its own power what up with it I might be able to help

Sounds like you have enough mechanical Volvo knowledge to ask: what is the labor time to take a transmission off and out another on for a Volvo 122 S? My mechanic says 5 hours, but that seems too stretched out.

Hi, they're made by a company called US wheel. 16x7 is the size. I don't remember offset, but my track width is modified from stock.
