  • This video is about classic cars you regret selling. If you’re over 30 years of age, you may have owned a classic car that you regretted selling. I had a classic 1978 trans am. My brother had a classic 1975 honda civic wagon that we both regret selling. From the ugliest, slowest to the nicest and fast cars, it doesn’t matter. If it’s is a classic car and you regret selling it, we want to know about it. Thanks for watching our classic cars you regret selling.

My late dad always regretted getting rid of his '64 and a half Mustang convertible, white black top, 289 HiPo with four in the floor. I have two, a '76 Malibu Classic two door with swivel bucket seats. Had a little 305 2 barrel. The other was a '85 Monte Carlo with the 4.3 V6. Bought it from Budget car sales with just under 25K on it. It was a great car, never had any major issues and had all kind of road trips. In first two years almost doubled the miles on it.

I had a 78 Coup d Ville, same 3 way yellow as in your picture! With the 425/400TH, it was the most powerful car I had before I got into trucks. Gave it to my brother after his car was totalled. In my teens, I had 71 Camero. Motor was fine. Had an Edlbrock intake & Holly 750. Sold it because it needed a transmission. Still kicking myself in the ass.

I regretted selling my 1989 Honda CRX, but actually managed to buy it back again, for the same price. Still getting me everywhere I need to go.
I had an Alfa GTV 3.0 24V for a while, but it was kind of expensive to keep running

I had that 305 three speed combo in, get this, a 1979 Pontiac Sunbird notchback coupe in buckskin tan with the three color gradient sport stripes, rear deck lid spoiler and the "big boy" Trans Am styled rally wheels with the polished trim rings - Trans Am bucket seats, AM only(?) 8 track stereo, center console shifter and AC that would run a refrigerator. My buddies used to call it the "Baby Trans Am", like you left it in the dryer too long. Not the most refined car but very fast and comfortable - and nothing else like it. I've never seen one since (save in photos) Freaking loved that car!

Love the regret videos. Id say my most regret sold car was of course my first car. It was a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo Sport Coupe, white with blue interior. Even though it only sported the 4.3 EFI V6, it drove like a dream and just dripped with class. I purchased it when I was a junior in High School and actually kept hold of it for about 15 years. Finally between life, needing a lot of engine work and lack or storage, I ended up parting with it. Ive had a couple of new Monte Carlos since but nothing was quite like the personal luxury coupes of the 70s and 80s.

My dad had a ‘75 Monte Carlo that he bought brand new and kept garaged until 1998 when he took it out for a spin and wrecked it. My dad was a marine and combat veteran whom I’ve only seen cry three times in my life…when my grandmother and brother passed away and when the Monte Carlo was totaled.
My friend’s mom had the late ‘80s SS in a dark plum color. That was an awesome car!

I really miss my '76 Ford Granada, it had the 302 v8 and the sports group option. It was black with a gold half roof and gold pinstripes and loaded with options. What a smart looking car, and it was very dependable. Normal maintenance was all it required. I wish I had it back today. Ah the memories, thanks. I do remember all the cars shown in the video, all great cars too.

I needed to give up driving due to eyesight issues (opric nerve damage caused by multiple sclerosis) but my last car was 2009 Corvette; even with the small (sic) engine, it was blazingly fast. What my wife did not know was that at times, I would go to the garage in the middle of the night and rub myself against it.

My favorite car from the past was a red 1977 Ford LTD II station wagon. Oh that car was beautiful! Loved sitting behind the steering wheel looking out over a hood that seemed to stretch out forever with the square stacking headlights! The lines on that wagon were incredible!! I wish I still had it! I console myself with my current baby, my dream vehicle, a 2021 Snazzberry Wrangler Unlimited that I'll be forever customizing! I plan on driving this Wrangler for the next 20 years!!

Of the 6 cars I've owned since 1993, I would say I miss car #4. Which was a brand new 2000 Nissan Sentra SE; Black with a 5 speed manual transmission. Car gave me ZERO problems, unless you consider the one time my battery went dead in the middle of traffic one day. The only reason I traded it in was because the winters were getting more ridiculous. So I traded it after 7 years for a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer LS 4x4 ... which I still own.

I may be late to this but I had two I totally regret loosing. First was my '69 Chevy G10 Sportsman van, great little beast and so much fun to drive, old 3 in the tree "H" pattern. The other was my '73 Dodge Charger SE Brougham, had the middle console shift with a B&M shifter, the 400 6.6liter engine. My ex made me sell it just before we got married... took 30 years but I got another one.

I had several Nova company cars in the 70's, and they were absolutely bullet proof. They were close to perfection, and economical. My mother's '76 Seville was built on the same chassis and was also reliable. She passed the Seville on to a grand daughter who literally drove it into the ground.

Series 2 Land Rover "The Orange Brick". It was an early SWB with the original 2l engine. They only made a few 2l ones before switching to the 2.25, so it was pretty rare. I swear you could drive it off a cliff and it would accelerate very very slowly to 55mph and then refuse to fall any faster.

3 I regret selling. 1. 68 Ford Thunderbird Landau 429 (was 16 when I bought it) . 2. 70 Cadillac Sedan De Ville (was 17 when I bought it) . 3. 79 Corvette with the L82 engine (was 18 when I bought it. But the Army recruiter lied to me and said I would make enough each month to afford it. Wrong) Loved each one of these. If I had to choose which one I would love to own again, the 68 Thunderbird, hands down.

My favorite car that I finally had to retire after having it 20 years was my second car a 1976 Cutlass Calais. It had a 350 4 barrel, a console automatic shifter, we called a "slap stick shifter" it was silver with a maroon velour interior, reclining seats, had the opera windows, landau vynal top, limited slip rear end. In the day I had B F Goodrich T/A Radials on it and polished aluminum slotted mags. That car was so fast, I topped it out at 140. It handled great, super traction in the snow. I always wanted to restore it and slightly customize it but never could afford it at the time.

With respect to the question about the 64-66 Tbird, none of them had steering wheel shifters. Only the Edsel 1958 (upper line Corsair and Citation only) had a push button trans situated in the steering wheel hub. Some say the 58 Mercury Monterey convertible had it also. It was Chrysler/AMC-Rambler products that had push button shifters on the left or right of the dash.

I had 76 Coupe Deville finished in Georgian Silver with a black Landau top. It had 62,000 miles on it when I bought it. I had it for two or three years and was parking it outside with a car cover on it. Of course the car cover was stolen. OK I'll ad one, but I'm glad I raced it. It was a 67 Mustang fastback R code iirc, a 390 4 speed car. I got it in 1978 and it was pretty much a cosmetic wreck. Later I discovered it had been slid into a curb and the frame was bent. So I cut it up and made a street stock race car out of it. Before I was done with it I made it a nasty stock car. I built a "baby 427" and it was bad to the bone!!! I learned a lot about racing and building race cars with that Mustang.

1976 Mercedes Benz 300D. Bought it for less than $2000 with 75k miles on it. Purchased it from the original owner's wife at an Estate sale. Everything on it ran perfectly. I eventually sold it a few years ago with 127k miles for $3000. I saw it for sale online for around $11k.
My dad regrets selling his 1971 Ford Bronco. He sold it in the summer of 2005 for around $5000. It was a hand-me-down from his father (Original Owner) in 1977. If he kept the car, it would be worth anywhere between $25k-$50k.
All of these were primarily rust-free cars from the PNW.

The 77 and newer Caddy’s with the 425 V8 were bullet proof engine’s. They would easily run for 350K miles and the rear tires were always bald, when the front tires were still new. At least that’s how it was on our parents 78 after it became their 2nd car for my sister and I to use. Their 74 Cadillac with the 472 V8 had the same issues 😂

Regarding your question about the 1964 Thunderbird push button automatic transmission, here's what I found on the net: When the 1958 Edsel launched in the late summer of 1957, the Edsel became the first and only Ford division to launch an electro-mechanical push-button transmission system, which it trademarked as Teletouch. Teletouch placed the transmission buttons in a ring within the center of the steering wheel.

    • @ThisOldCarChannel

Hmm I have a handful. But not all were cars. My 1971 Ford Torino 500 2 door with a few modifications. I added power brakes, the beefier radiator from a police car, and cam with Edelbrock intake and 750cfm carb.. put a shift kit in and lastly added aftermarket aluminum heads.. it was a 2 door with a medium metallic blue and dished rear window. Fortunately she found a good home. The other was a truck I pulled out of the weeds and got running and drove home. It only cost about $30. It was a 75 Ford f250 hi boy with a 360 and stock 33 inch tires. Front and rear limited slip. I had issues with the 360 so I put a 390 put of a 68 galaxie in it, and I drove it until prices on gas climbed too high after 2006 and it's working at a saw mill as the big man's truck. I could have got a jeep j20 pickup at the same place as the Ford but I didn't have the money for a new clutch and universal joints, even doing all the work myself. About 5 other cars I miss too but those are my lost loves.

Also, I disagree. The Accord does look cool. It's no Trans Am, and you won't be running block for a load of illegal Coor's beer in it, but it's still a cool looking little hatch.
Then again, I just bought a Fifth Avenue to tinker on, and I like the looks of those cars too. So I may not have the best taste.
