If DF retro videos are anything to go by, a lot of games back then were still unoptimized as fuck or were broken PC ports. Quake 2 for example, ran like ass on GPUs from just a year before, same with Half-Life. Half of the N64 library ran at less than 30fps most of the time. PC ports of early 2000s console games (like GTA or the original Halo 1&2 ports) were broken and had worse graphics than the console version
I love seeing the 3060Ti on your channel. I really do, and not just because it's my GPU. Wasn't it the very first RTX desktop GPU you tested, and the first time a company ever sent you a GPU to review? That's amazing. The 3060Ti is still a MONSTER in 2024. It's so frustrating watching it struggle on UE5. This is why optimization matters.
@@amdwarrior 3060 ti is 4 year old card and still runs 99% of games perfectly fine. it has superior upscaling compared to similarly priced AMD cards. it lacks VRAM almost exclusively in games that have horrible optimization. this one is good example. no amount of VRAM would help bad optimization, 60+ fps is unachievable.

You should see the amount of people saying the game has 0 performance issues in the official discord, a literal dev told me i had to upgrade from my 3070 because it was "too old". Delusional community, I am convinced performance will not get fixed.

Thanks for explaining a lot of these settings and showing their affects. Everyone is using different hardware, so this really helped me to understand the changes I make rather than just following a "perfect settings" type of guide. Easy Like. 👍
It's because there is the hope that after a restart the VRAM gets a reset and only filled what its needed the most with the new settings applied. Let's say he was on high settings before and then goes to low, new stuff needs to get loaded into the VRAM+RAM while the old stuff still exist and needs to be deleted and replaced to open more space on the fly. Kryzzp is trying to help the game engine to get rid of the "old stuff" this way and have the experience like somebody has without changing settings over and over himself. He wants to show us the true experience and not a messed up one with changes all over the time. These restarts are even more important when the VRAM or RAM are struggeling a lot because they are always maxed out, like they are sadly in this game with a 8GB VRAM GPU because of the poor optimization.
That's a good practixe. Especially in VRAM demanding games like Last of Us, Forbidden West, Ratchet en Clank, etc. You need to do that to reset the RAM and VRAM utilization. Keep proceeding without restart could causing issues like unswapped assets back, inaccurate readings, crashing, and others.
I have a rtx 3060 with an older Ryzen 5 and 32g ram. Performance is not playable. It just fleezes when going into he chopper. Im now waiting for my new cpu. Hopefully it will be playable then.
@zWORMz Gaming the reason for crashing with amds Frame generation is most likley "hardware accelerated gpu shedueling" when you disable -reboot it in windows it should not crash anymore wich is kinda wild tho. should not be the case at all.
It's apparent that people read "Early Access" to mean "I get this game early and expect it to work like a finished game" when in reality they should be reading "Early Access" as "A playable game demo in an unfinished condition with up-to, and including, catastrophic game failure." If you don't like unfinished games, don't buy unfinished games.

Its mmo-type pvpve shooter with full ballistics physics, ricochet and surfaces penetration systems, that just came from pre alpha 1month ago, now developers are ready for feedback from community. The game didnt recieve any marketing, it just blew out of nowhere into the early access.

They most likely not using consumer's graphics card obviously. There are specific cards for workstations. To play games and to make games uses different cards, of course it runs much faster.
hello everyone.. related to lag and frame stuttering, I did this. press the windows button and write Graphics settings and add the game to graphics performance click on options and select High performance that's how I got rid of frame stuttering the game runs constantly 70fps all settings on epic 2k resolution and DLSS on quality before this change I couldn't play the game, having frame stuttering every 10-20 seconds pc specs ryzen 5600x rtx 4070 32g ram 3200 a friend of mine with a ryzen 3600, rtx 2070 and 16g ram works constantly with 50-60 fps but with all settings on low, and has much less frame stuttering than before changing the setting in windows I hope this helps you
What's crazy is that at least in Tarkov, when you get under 60fps, you realize that most of the problem is massive CPU overhead. Otherwise I'm ending up often with only 50-66% GPU usage. Here, we're taking full advantage of the 3060Ti and look how bad it's running even at low...
Only since the beginning of ue4. Graphics looks sucks and not polished if you look at it closely (most ue4 & ue5 games). Plus with a buggy gameplay, dead world enviroment, some weird blue-ish shading and yeah of course the very bad performance even with a high end pc. I can even tell a game was made using unreal engine without googling it lol.
Suport pre alpha software boys.😂 this gpu should be able to run this on high setings at more than 60 fps. And the rtx 2060 6gb should be able to run this with mid to high setings at least with 60 fps.
The game is pretty good for early access I hope they fix the performance and stutter issues and give it better movement and fov The game is a highly realistic tactical shooter game I bought it and it performs fine on my rx6800xt on 2k a mix of low medium high and epic around 56 to 72 fps without any upscaling

the main issue when shooting the bots is that there internal organ hit boxes are really small, so there is loads of dead space in there head, neck, heart, lungs etc.. the devs said this to another youtuber, i can't remember there name but thought i would mention, the server lag was dreadful though

6:57 the problem is developers still use older iterations of UE5, for instance, the l;atest, v 5.4 offers a good performance uplift, but id devs do not use all the tools and oppotunities that Epic offers, it's mostly their fault, non UE's.
This game is so damn unoptimized. A 3060Ti should be able to get 100+ fps alltime at 1440p on medium at least withouth DLSS. The shader compilation stuff ingame kills it totally + the insane VRAM consumption while its textures look like Kryzzp said, on low like TF2 or worse. Add bad servers and hit registration from hell and here we are. Besides that foliage looks pretty but nothing really more. Please don't buy unoptimized games like that. Buyers are the reason such unoptimized games exist.
Maybe the longer you play the more you can find more intensive areas. So by the time 4060 being tested, he prolly can't find that problematic areas yet so it can't be apples to apples comparison maybe.
It's just different implementation of frame generation, Nvidia frame generation is hardware based, 4000 series has hardware dedicated to frame generation so it will run smoothly on 4060, without vram issues, maybe even Nvidia frame generation use less vram. AMD frame generation is completely different, it's based only on software, not hardware, so may use a lot more vram and may work bad on some cards because it's not hardware based. Some cards maybe can't even handle AMD frame generation.
This is probably the most artistically boring game with most boring location design I've seen in a very long time. I think this happens when you don't have a good art team or you want "realism". Other than that it works like shit on every GPU you've tested so far xd.
appreciate how high quality they have made the game but in my opinion it makes you render way to much like maybe they could cut down on the amount of trees on the mountain.
Kryzzp from what i heard and encountered along the way when you update windows microsoft forces another reinstall of directx which causes stutter this version of directx is installed via microsoft store and i was testing control in dx12 and it was stuttering so i reinstalled windows installed directx and blocked any windows updates and the problem was solved and i also reinstalled the drivers before i reinstalled windows but the problem was still there
At this point, I believe, the game devs are not optimizing the games on purpose to increase the sales of the upcoming GPUs which are not even 10% faster than the previous gen

I played Divinity: Original Sin when it was in “early access” and ultimately purchased the game as well cause I loved and completed the “early access” version of the game. Even in early access, the game was imo, in an excellent state and had no issues except for literally a couple crashes which wasn’t much at all tbh, so I ensured I saved the game every 10-15mins just in case but I only needed to reload a couple times and that was it….. no bugs, no delays or major issues, no glitches or non responsive commands etc. …… it was in an awesome playable state and how an “early access” should be released!
Pro tip when you are trying long shot with an iron sight you can still hold your breath and it makes the gun way more accurate, also single shot bro, no reason to spray at distance accuracy is going to 0 like that.
Also FSR Frame gen causes my game to crash too not sure why they are recommending it, I think having a really strong CPU helps but it doesn’t seem stable with frame gen.
Surprising to see it perform so well (compared to the others at least) I have a 3060 Ti but sadly all my other specs are way worse than yours so I don't think I'll be able to run it at all lol
I have the same card, and it's definitely playable on on my budget i7-10700 (2.9ghz) rig. I pretty much have to use FSR and set almost everything to low if I want ~60fps
Was the 4060 with Nv Frame Generation crashing? 3060ti use frame gen from amd i think there is a problem with ampere. Has a 6600xt the same problems? I think amd frame gen has a problem. Last time i played day z wow, it runs amazing today.
I don't know what tomake of this game, or UE 5 in general. In some ways it looks great, the performance is a bit sketchy at times, but it overal looks good. Unfortunately some of the plant textures look very plasticy.

Netcode or server issues. It gonna take some time to fix it for sure. Its actually pretty hard to make a server with 48 people + ai where each player bullet and magazine is physically correct and interacting with environment.
I'm actually impressed with how well the game handles needing more Vram than the GPU allows. Is that an Unreal 5 thing? Even today, many newer games can crash if they need more Vram than the card allows. Maybe the 6000 DDR5 allows for better Vram swapping? Would be interesting to see is slower DDR4 caused much worse performance when Vram limited.
@@Inpulsiveproductions But this game handled it it quite well, where some games crash or super freeze/drop textures/have massive pop-in, making it obvious it ran out of Vram. If needing more Vram than the Card allows is terrible because system ram is way too slow, then explain why it worked as well as it did.

It could be one of many things. Bad airflow, your PC is in a hot room or hot environment, GPU fans or case fans not spinning fast enough, thermal pads on your GPU needing to be replaced, etc. Look inside your case and see if there's any dust laying around. I'd start with trying to clean it out before looking at the bigger issues
Better frame generation(frame generation of Nvidia). Different implementation of Nvidia frame generation than fsr frame generation that rely only on software, Nvidia frame generation is hardware.

hello everyone.. related to lag and frame stuttering, I did this. press the windows button and write Graphics settings and add the game to graphics performance
click on options and select High performance
that's how I got rid of frame stuttering
the game runs constantly 70fps all settings on epic 2k resolution and DLSS on quality
before this change I couldn't play the game, having frame stuttering every 10-20 seconds

rtx 4070
32g ram 3200
a friend of mine with a ryzen 3600, rtx 2070 and 16g ram works constantly with 50-60 fps but with all settings on low, and has much less frame stuttering than before changing the setting in windows

THIS ACTUALLY WORKS OMG, 3060TI 5600x, was getting 30fps with framegen & shit before, now i can 60fps with dlss!!!
I can even use framegen without stuttering now, playable asf compared to before!

What's crazy is that at least in Tarkov, when you get under 60fps, you realize that most of the problem is massive CPU overhead. Otherwise I'm ending up often with only 50-66% GPU usage. Here, we're taking full advantage of the 3060Ti and look how bad it's running even at low...

Yeah since UE4 because UE3 provided very good visuals for its time with also good performance.

Only since the beginning of ue4. Graphics looks sucks and not polished if you look at it closely (most ue4 & ue5 games). Plus with a buggy gameplay, dead world enviroment, some weird blue-ish shading and yeah of course the very bad performance even with a high end pc. I can even tell a game was made using unreal engine without googling it lol.

You can also try Arena Breakout Infinite to see if its a much better looter-shooter than this (coming in june maybe)

I bought it and it performs fine on my rx6800xt on 2k a mix of low medium high and epic around 56 to 72 fps without any upscaling

wth bro how old is ur gpu do you have case intake and exhaust fans working fine? bc it should be lower than than 75 but if your card is touching 80 and going to 70 or 76 temps then dont worry just see that ur case fans are okay

the main issue when shooting the bots is that there internal organ hit boxes are really small, so there is loads of dead space in there head, neck, heart, lungs etc.. the devs said this to another youtuber, i can't remember there name but thought i would mention, the server lag was dreadful though

It’s not the optimization it’s just the best looking shooter that has ever released with a large persistent map. This won’t change
6:57 the problem is developers still use older iterations of UE5, for instance, the l;atest, v 5.4 offers a good performance uplift, but id devs do not use all the tools and oppotunities that Epic offers, it's mostly their fault, non UE's.
This game is so damn unoptimized. A 3060Ti should be able to get 100+ fps alltime at 1440p on medium at least withouth DLSS.
The shader compilation stuff ingame kills it totally + the insane VRAM consumption while its textures look like Kryzzp said, on low like TF2 or worse. Add bad servers and hit registration from hell and here we are. Besides that foliage looks pretty but nothing really more.
Please don't buy unoptimized games like that. Buyers are the reason such unoptimized games exist.

Could be that dlss frame gen uses less vram than amd's framegen hence why 4060 was more stable despite also having only 8 gb
Maybe the longer you play the more you can find more intensive areas. So by the time 4060 being tested, he prolly can't find that problematic areas yet so it can't be apples to apples comparison maybe.
It's just different implementation of frame generation, Nvidia frame generation is hardware based, 4000 series has hardware dedicated to frame generation so it will run smoothly on 4060, without vram issues, maybe even Nvidia frame generation use less vram.
AMD frame generation is completely different, it's based only on software, not hardware, so may use a lot more vram and may work bad on some cards because it's not hardware based. Some cards maybe can't even handle AMD frame generation.

This is probably the most artistically boring game with most boring location design I've seen in a very long time. I think this happens when you don't have a good art team or you want "realism". Other than that it works like shit on every GPU you've tested so far xd.
appreciate how high quality they have made the game but in my opinion it makes you render way to much like maybe they could cut down on the amount of trees on the mountain.

Kryzzp from what i heard and encountered along the way when you update windows microsoft forces another reinstall of directx which causes stutter this version of directx is installed via microsoft store and i was testing control in dx12 and it was stuttering so i reinstalled windows installed directx and blocked any windows updates and the problem was solved and i also reinstalled the drivers before i reinstalled windows but the problem was still there
At this point, I believe, the game devs are not optimizing the games on purpose to increase the sales of the upcoming GPUs which are not even 10% faster than the previous gen

The gtx 1660ti is weaker than the gtx 1080, which is the minimum to run this game, so it would not do well at all...
I played Divinity: Original Sin when it was in “early access” and ultimately purchased the game as well cause I loved and completed the “early access” version of the game. Even in early access, the game was imo, in an excellent state and had no issues except for literally a couple crashes which wasn’t much at all tbh, so I ensured I saved the game every 10-15mins just in case but I only needed to reload a couple times and that was it….. no bugs, no delays or major issues, no glitches or non responsive commands etc. …… it was in an awesome playable state and how an “early access” should be released!

Pro tip when you are trying long shot with an iron sight you can still hold your breath and it makes the gun way more accurate, also single shot bro, no reason to spray at distance accuracy is going to 0 like that.

Also FSR Frame gen causes my game to crash too not sure why they are recommending it, I think having a really strong CPU helps but it doesn’t seem stable with frame gen.

RTx 3060Ti with a 5800X3D & 128GB DDR4 ram, I don't even hit 40FPS. I put a 4060Ti 16GB in my machine and its a night and day difference.
Surprising to see it perform so well (compared to the others at least) I have a 3060 Ti but sadly all my other specs are way worse than yours so I don't think I'll be able to run it at all lol
I have the same card, and it's definitely playable on on my budget i7-10700 (2.9ghz) rig. I pretty much have to use FSR and set almost everything to low if I want ~60fps

I don't know what tomake of this game, or UE 5 in general. In some ways it looks great, the performance is a bit sketchy at times, but it overal looks good. Unfortunately some of the plant textures look very plasticy.
Any ideas why my game is stuttering or rubberbanding a lot? I have same gpu as in your video but yours doesnt seem like stutter at all. I have 32gb ram....
It does stutter because of shader compilation and 8GB not being enough!

Netcode or server issues. It gonna take some time to fix it for sure. Its actually pretty hard to make a server with 48 people + ai where each player bullet and magazine is physically correct and interacting with environment.

I'm actually impressed with how well the game handles needing more Vram than the GPU allows. Is that an Unreal 5 thing? Even today, many newer games can crash if they need more Vram than the card allows. Maybe the 6000 DDR5 allows for better Vram swapping? Would be interesting to see is slower DDR4 caused much worse performance when Vram limited.
RAM can never compensate lack of VRAM the Diference in speed is too high DDR5 6000 will be no different.
@@Inpulsiveproductions But this game handled it it quite well, where some games crash or super freeze/drop textures/have massive pop-in, making it obvious it ran out of Vram. If needing more Vram than the Card allows is terrible because system ram is way too slow, then explain why it worked as well as it did.

It could be one of many things. Bad airflow, your PC is in a hot room or hot environment, GPU fans or case fans not spinning fast enough, thermal pads on your GPU needing to be replaced, etc. Look inside your case and see if there's any dust laying around. I'd start with trying to clean it out before looking at the bigger issues

Better frame generation(frame generation of Nvidia). Different implementation of Nvidia frame generation than fsr frame generation that rely only on software, Nvidia frame generation is hardware.

45+ fps is smooth enough to enjoy any game .. and 100+ is just not enough
