He's criticizing the craft he has honed from a place of genuine exhaustion and that's fair, but I can't shake the feeling that if he were to do something else like painting or less overtly satirical writing he would be even more critical and brutal toward himself to the point of not being able to continue or complete a project. He hit the nail on the head when he spoke about David Mamet's earlier writing in Cumtown, saying that he loved House of Games but it is incredibly easy to pick apart. And he is right on both sentiments.
