    ***For the one's having trouble following along with the chopping ***
    What he's basically saying is:
    find your loop (whatever length you find, ie. 2 bars, 3 bars, 4 bars.etc). trim it until it loops PERFECTLY. Then all you need to do is MULTIPLY THE NUMBER OF BARS YOU HAVE (example: 4 bars) by the number of beats in a bar, which is 4. So that would be your 4 bar loop (multiplied) by 4(beats in a bar)= 16. That would be spread each beat of the sample across on all 16 pads. ***As you get better at the chopping and stuff, you could start employing different chop techniques... let's say you still have that 4 bar loop. Instead of multiplying 4 (bars) by 4 (beats), you could MANUALLY adjust your chop zones (or whatever its called in Maschine)to chop it as if you were working with a 2 bar loop instead of 4. So we know 2 (bars) × 4 (bars)= 8. So instead of being spread on all 16 pads, it is now only on 8 pads. With that, each pad will now consist of two beats instead of one beat as with the first example. The possibilities are endless. Its really simple, but VERY,VERY useful. Once you wrap your head around this concept I PROMISE that your sampled beats will step up quite a bit.
    AG is a beast and WE should be very greatful for the REAL KNOWLEDGE he keeps hitting us with. I hope I explained this well, but if not yall can ask questions and I'll get back at cha. PEACE. IsshmanGarcia GKMG2015

    This was really helpfull to understand the basic idea of using sampler.. thank u.

  • @dre2kule
    @dre2kule Před 11 lety

    I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it using the beat slice, but typically you find your one 4 bar sample, use the edit function in Sampling mode to find the first start and end point for the first quarter note on the first pad, then duplicate to second pad, adjust start and end for second quarter, and so on and so forth for the rest of the pads...lengthy process sometimes, but ensures you get EXACTLY the amount of sample for each quarter note you want...

    most folks need the beginning steps of how you got the sample in there .. those little steps are what beginners want to know because that's where everyone is getting stuck. after you get the sample in, those next steps. if you can show that, that would help a lot more. good vid though.

      About a minute in to the video he said you have to make sure the sample is a even four bars. once you hit the sample option and slice selection it should do it for you automatically. The key to it is making sure the sample is Four Bars I'm assuming

    Ok so my question is, what if you wand to use two separate parts of the sample, for example a section of the intro and a section of the bridge? So far all I'm seeing is is one section being worked on, and even further what is you want the different points of your sample to have different effects in one beat without affecting the first?
