This man was an absolute phenomenon. What a warrior on the pitch. I know it's a cliche but the pitches, the drinking culture and the more physical game in his era cost him lots of minutes of his career. In todays game he might have been even more of a colossus. I adored him as a young boy

Absolute legend. I’ve supported United for nearly 40 years. I’ve never really been into any 1 player as it’s always about the club being successful but Robbo was the exception. My football hero. It’s a shame he didn’t get to play in the really great teams of the 90s and 00s. He deserved so much more success than he got. But the main thing is he did eventually get to experience 2 league titles.
I was around for every minute of his career still my best every united player

The comparison between Keane and Robson as captains is easily justified. I couldn’t pick one over the other, all I know is we shall be lucky to see their like again as Captains. I didn’t see Roger Byrne play but that’s about as far as you need to go back to find somebody held in the same esteem. I’ve little doubt Duncan Edwards would have been in that conversation as well.

Just read an article about Sir Alex Ferguson on who he rated as his best ever club captain. It was not Roy Keane it said in the headline. Which had me thinking whom could it be. Then I thought wait a minute it has to be Robson. So I click on the article and start reading and sure enough. Sir Alex Ferguson said easily his best ever club captain was Bryan Robson.

@@PTMarcoBryant 1995-2003 was a hell of a period for United look at the high quality of players that were there for that whole period. Class of 92 with Roy Keane added on top. Hell of a recruitment period as well with top players leaving and arriving. What stability. I think I enjoyed that period more than 2006-2013 or even the Cantona period 1992-1997.
the younger generation who never saw Robbo play would naturally say Keane was the best player buy Keane played in the championship side Robbo played when united were poor and at the beginning of the Fergie era but believe me ROBBO was a far more superior technical player than Keane who was a liability on the pitch for the number of times he got sent off
