Great episode. Really good to see knowledgeable analysis not clouded by emotion, this one was pure and clinical. Agree that:
a) it's hard to feel "consoled" by a good performance at a stage where only points matter
b) Aina was a weapon. Boly made a massive difference. Danilo hasn't found his ideal role, he's chancey but (agree Matt) progressive.
c) that while Wood "should" have scored both of those, the fact that he didn't does NOT earn Ribeiro a spot. Indeed (as Ruby said) the chances themselves were due to Wood's really good positioning.
d) to wish that Williams had been replaced by Montiel before that goal is pure hindisght bias.
We have to score goals v Sheff Utd everybody else has. If Wood cant v them . . .
I wasn't disappointed with Danilo but clearly saw when he ran out of gas.
THAT sub was five minutes too late.

watching this back but I thought at half time Aina and Danilo were neck and neck for MOTM for me. Aina went on to take it by a country mile but Danilo was great for probably the first hour, then he seemed to tire quickly and should've been replaced a bit sooner.
I left the ground the most positive I've ever been after a defeat. I thought we dominated them in many ways, winning most of the battles, lots of tackles, lots of chances and didn't concede many chances at all. If we converted our three gilt edged chances we likely win the game and i would've been well deserved.

We have to focus on beating Sheff Utd rather than save anything for Chelsea. It is our best chance to get 3 points that would likely keep us up. Would mean Luton need at least 5 from 3 and Burnley 6 from 3.
We played well. Thought Aina and CHO are building a partnership. We need overlaps and think we could do better on our right. Elanga will need someone to link with more. MGW was controlled and he'll need to be cautious losing the ball 5 metres away from our penalty box. Awoniyi seems never to be available and think we'll need to give someone from the youth squad more play over pre season.

Forget about Awoniyi for the last 3 games. Even if he were to be suddenly fit it always takes Awoniyi 2/3/4 games to get up to speed after an injury and he's always cumbersome and 'bambi on ice' like in those games while he gets back up to speed.

I’d love the club to comment on set pieces. Is it zonal marking? MGW left his man - almost looked intentional. Can’t understand it
MGW didn’t leave his man, Gvardiol ran from behind him to in front of him, just so happened to be WGMs zone where the header happened. Either way we can’t have CBs running onto crosses against or static players, there only 1 outcome there
Did he not? Looked like one minute he was marking him and the next minute he had a free header at the front post and MGW was where he started

It’s absolutely criminal that we didn’t go out and buy a proven premier league striker in January, a blind man could see we needed backup in that position, shocking recruitment again.

The only bottom 7 game we have beaten all season was Sheff Utd at home by a single goal. Wish we still had Cooper. He really rallied us over the final 2 months last season, and we picked up lots of points

Nuno didn’t replace Neco quickly enough when it was obvious he was coming off. Goal. As we began to tire into the second half Nuno took an age to sort out 3 subs. Goal. They might as well as sat back on the bench after that because the game had gone. I cannot see us winning another game.
