The sound perfectly captures the grittiness of 90s New York. Truly iconic!
For 32 years, that sound has been epic!
This is my wife's lullaby, she love it and play law and order reruns all night. It can put her right to sleep due to the dun dun and music. It is very soothing for her. Thanks a million. What a creative person!

Ah hell I’m old enough to know Mike Post for so many legendary tv theme songs pre-L&O; Hill Street Blues, Magnum PI, The A Team, Greatest American Hero, Doogie Howser, Quantum Leap. The man is a tv theme hook legend! I mean Pete Townsend wrote a song about him for god sake‘s! I bet as you read every TV show theme listed above they started playing in your head if you’re older than 40!
Rockford Files theme was epic! He's been at it for so long, yet looks way younger than I expected.
Don't forget Hunter. That was a good theme song.

I'm 31 and just starting to watch Law & Order from season one. I remember in like 1995-1998 the show would be on tv but I was a child and never really understood the show but the show still had an impact on me. I would hear the Iconic "dun dun" and even the theme song and they had always stuck with me as some of the most hard hitting NYC vibes and I really want those NYC 90's Vibes right now and so I'm really excited to just lose myself in one of TV's greatest shows. Fricken well done Mike Post! He hit the nail.
