I was heavy into skating back in the mid/late 80’s. I’m about to turn 49 and my 14 year old son is showing interest in skateboarding. I’m going to build a board and try to strengthen my relationship with him through skating. Thanks for the inspiration. Wish me luck…hopefully I don’t bust my ass.🤘

Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking out the vid! Have fun on the journey and adventure you are starting with your son. They will appreciate it now and even more so when they are older and have a family of their own.

Cool looking build!! I really like the pink and white with the dark blue. just put together this same deck myself. One pro tip I learned from building flight decks is to use a countersink drill bit to carefully remove a little material from the grip side of the deck so that the hardware will sit flush with the griptape easily. That top ply is just too hard to crank the bolts in flush without being overly tight and potentially blowing out rubber risers. Even though wood decks are easier to tighten the hardware until it's flush, in theory slightly countersinking the holes could possibly help lessen the chance of pressure cracks.

Thanks for the advice. I may try that next time. Do you use a 3/8" countersink bit?

@skating4satori672 I got a set of them with various sizes for a very good price on Amazon. I usually just hold the head of the hardware up to each bit and eye up whatever one matches the shape the best. The most important thing is to take your time. Remove a little material and check the hardware in the hole, and keep doing that method until it looks right. Remember you can always remove more material but you can not add material back once it's gone!! Lol.

Nice setup. That camera angle makes it look more like an egg then it actually is though. Still a cool board. How do you like it for transition?
