In 1981, I was living in Santa Barbara and my good friend was a chef at a restaurant in the area. He calls me one night and says, "Get your butt over here right away. Joe Cocker is singing in the bar!" He lived in Santa Barbara at time and apparently, he knew the guys in the band that night and he just came to jam with them. I was able to watch him sing a couple songs before he left. He was amazing and his energy was off the charts, even in a smallish bar.
What a great great memory ❤
So jealous! How cool!
This is such a great song and Joe just smashes it. I really love this one, thank you. This was released in 1986. I just call it Joe Cocker, he was just who he was, his own genre.
I think so much music back then was a blend of many genres, Mugs. That’s why it’s timeless and sounds so good. Absolutely, Soul influenced everything! 😊
Love this, heard it many times. Never gets old. The brass, the sax and the beautiful ladies dancing and singing. Man you have an ear for year, believe it was 1986.
I love me some Joe! Great reaction- the horns, that sax, that piano, the backup vocals and that gravelly Joe, oooooweee!
Joe Cocker is awesome ❤
I'm a metalhead, but always liked some very few artists from other genres. Joe is one of them. I just love his voice. Up Where We Belong is one of my favorites by him.
Joe felt the music, and couldn't help but move to it. THE Rock Maestro!
IMO, arguable one of the best "soul singers" of the 1960's thru the 1990's....R.I.P.,, Joe, I miss that gravelly voice......
Have always loved this track. And the horns!!
.
I just lost my 21-year-old old cat,Miss Josephine ,and let me tell you, when I played Joe Cockers music, she went nuts. That cat loved JC. RIP to them both. Cats have class. And he was a class act,who was also a classy cat 🤣.
A Randy Newman masterpiece brought to life by Joe Cocker. I like the live concert version with Derek Dyer on sax.
I would call this R&B. The old rhythm and blues gets you every time.
I love him so much. His voice is like no other- he’s got so much soul in him.
The horns and backup singers are epic. You rarely see/hear horns in today’s music.
I was 🤣🤣🤣 at your Ron Jeremy comment!
Have you seen his “Feelin’ Alright”, “She Came in through the bathroom Window” and “Unchain My Heart”? If not you should check them out.
Classic song, from a classic movie, 9½ Weeks
It was in the movie, but Randy Newman wrote it 14 years beforehand.
Great reaction! Next please do Joe Cocker live singing " Unchain My Heart ", you will not regret it 🔥🔥🔥
thanks for doing my request!!!!
Thanks for the idea!
❤ RIP, Joe🌹
Since you like Joe you should give Van Morrison a listen.Same era and style
Yes.
I think Cocker came 1st. I agree with u on the horns, back-up singers, the whole pkg!! This song and even Joe himself, brings back so many memories!! ♡♡
LOVE..koker. 😭❤️
Still sounds darn good!♡♡
Stripptease music, love this!❤
Joe live sounded even better ❤ Sing with the Angels.
❤❤❤ they play this song at every comedy show with a clip of Patrick Swayze & comedic Chris Farley! Lol great song
Joe cocker - The Letter.
YES!!!
I was lucky enough to see Joe Cocker in concert in the early 90s. It was an honor and he makes everyone feel it like he does. This is straight on Rhythm and blues.
Joe is like the British version of Ray Charles.
Joe’s cover of Bob Dylan’s I Shall Be Released is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard
Getting older and clean didn't hurt his voice at all.
This was featured in the movie 9 and a half weeks with Kim Basinger
I saw Joe Cocker open for Tina Turner years ago! R.I.P to both legends
Joe Cocker came before Billy Joel.
Joe Cocker came first. 60's, Billy Joel was early 70s.
This genre is "your lady giving you a private dance".
The striptease song! 😂 Love the background singers on this one. Joe Cocker “THE LETTER” next 🔥🔥🔥
One of probably the most iconic stripper songs ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Sexiest song EVER!
Joe Cocker made other people's songs sound better.
Joe had a physical condition that caused his movements.
You call it 'Joe Cocker'
Do you have to categorize music? Is it rock , blues, r&b etc. Whatever man.
