This was played in the film ‘The Full Monty’ based in the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire England. About some out of work individuals who decide to put on a Strip Show. Joe himself was from Sheffield. The film is very funny!

Many many years ago, I listened to The Larry King radio show which ran all night. Joe Cocker comes on, and he is drunk. Laryy keeps telling him 'You're drunk, Joe!" and he keeps replying 'Everyone gotta have a little nip now and then, Laryy.' This went on for about 4 hours. It was the funniest thing I ever heard, and I've never forgotten it.
BTW, I have so many memories from that show. It ran all night and I used to keep a speaker under my pillow and would listen to it all night when I was awake.

I’d imagine one of the best feelings in the world as an artist is when you have a massive hit like this, to perform it live, with an amazing brass section, amazing musicians and backing vocalists! This song takes the roof off live!
A great little movie called "The Full Monty" had the song in it. You're the loveliest couple. *His song "You Are So Beautiful" is very short but very beautiful*. In the USA, the awards for films are called The Oscars, and Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes had a song(duet)in a film called "An Officer And A Gentleman" that won an Oscar for best song in a film. Best to you both, and enjoy it all.
That's right! I forgot about The Full Monty, but I believe that version was sung by Tom Jones.....who did a fantastic job of it!

I'm so glad you reacted to this version (Live In Dortmund) instead of the official video, which splices in scenes from the movie "9 1/2 Weeks" because THIS performance is just epic. I recommended it in the comment section a couple of times in previous reactions to Joe Cocker, so I'm grateful that another subscriber (maybe a "buy me a coffee" request?) suggested this version as well. Seems like you both enjoy really beautifully composed music and being such if you by chance have not heard any David Gray music i can highly recommend checking him out. His music is kind of hard to classify but i have always enjoyed his live performances of his songs like "Freedom", "This Years Love".
