Why do people in found footage movies always say "we gotta go" when they are clearly nowhere near the danger. Just hold the camera still and fucking film it.

Really all it would have taken was delaying the meteor and collision sounds by 3-4 seconds which still isn't real but doesn't make it unnecessarily lengthy or boring... alot of editors dont realize that sound is not immediate. it takes time for sound to travel, but the vibration from the impact can be nearly immediate
Sound waves travel much faster in solids than in air. Hence, the vibrations reach about 4x faster than the actual sound of the explosion to your ears.
