As a 11 year old foodie watching this I can only think about one thing. My kids in the future will eat like a king. I love stuff like this and I wish my parents did this for me. It’s great when you have no food restrictions, either dietary or by taste. I couldn’t use most of these ingredients.
My kids won’t eat school provided lunches, cuz they are bad ( don’t look appetizing or nutritious). And my requirements are food that must be eaten with a fork (cafeterias are loud and packed and my kids eat lunch in the hallway, so hands not clean ). No access to microwave so cold food. So I make meat patties with all sorts of veggies inside, served with Fresh tomatoes or cucumber. Applesauce. Refillable water bottle. Or I buy kimbap, fry it in the morning with egg to freshen up the rice. Or hand meat pies. Or cook up potstickers or pierogi( vareniki), or crepes stuffed with meat or farmers cheese ( lactose free cheese). Or crabmeat or tuna salad with a side of fresh tomato. Or kugel ( cream cheese with noodles bake, raisins, cinnamon, a bit of sugar). Salad Olivier ( potato salad with meat). I try to stay away from bread, cookies, crackers, chips. If they are staying after school, I’ll put in a snack bar that has minimal crap in it. Or make my own cookies to which I add either carrots or zucchini. I try to give them food that won’t destroy their metabolism. No pop, no juice, no chocolate milk. Water or hot herbal tea when it’s cold.
