- Welcome to our sixth episode on the Timeline of Elden Ring - the Twin Prodigies, the Academy Rebellion against the Carians, and the Starscourge Conflict where Radahn held Sellia Secure. An in depth video including the Golden Order, Radagon, Ranni, Rykard, Radahn, Malenia, Miquella, Godwyn and the Haligtree. There is of course lots of uncertainty and speculation, as with any attempt to make an Elden Ring timeline, so this is all just our own theory!

I'd guess the reason Radagon left Rennala is that Ranni was identified as an Empyrean, and so the Greater Will directed Marika to make him her consort so Ranni could be folded into the Golden bloodline. After all, we know Iji talking about her and Blithe that she was identified as an Empyrean at a very young age, so Radagon presumably left Rennala early into Ranni's life.

The question of the Golden Order's motives and Radahn's complicity or awareness in halting the stars is one of the most interesting parts of the game to me. While we won't know for sure until the DLC drops, it is keenly interesting to me that killing *Radahn*, not just Mohg, is necessary to access the DLC. Does this mean that, perhaps, Miquella too had a fate the Golden Order intended to fetter? After all, the Amber Starlight in Leyndell is found beneath a hidden statue of Miquella and Malenia, surrounded by Sacramental Buds and informing us that "amber-hued stars" might "control the fate of gods."
Which is interesting, because the story trailer explicitly states that Miquella has abandoned his fate. It could also be that it's not Miquella's fate that needs to be unfettered, but that fate in general must be able to progress for his plans to come to fruition.

Another discrepancy about Radahn holding back the stars is that it’s thought of as a net positive because it prevents creatures like Astels and Fallingstar Beasts from setting foot in the Lands Between. However, those creatures have already been around for a long time and are seemingly no more of a threat than other creatures that roam the Lands Between like dragons or Rune Bears. Additionally, it doesn’t seem like the Golden Order struggled with Astels or Fallingstar Beasts, nor does any other faction outright consider them a threat except for the Nox. So saying that Radahn holding back the stars is a good thing doesn’t seem to be true.

@@charlesfisher-kh5sw There are two Astels in the game: Astel, Naturalborn of the Void and Astel, Stars of Darkness.
Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is found in the Grand Cloister before the Moonlight Alter and is the one that destroyed one of the Eternal Cities and wiped out their sky.
Astel, Stars of Darkness is found in Yelough Anix Tunnel in the Consecrated Snowfield.
Malformed Stars are generally considered to be immature versions of Astels and those are scattered around in a few places underground.

I always assumed that in that cinematic depicting Melania jump on top of Radahn, she is both stabbing him and herself, breaking the gold needle in her flesh and allowing her to bloom. And it's kinda sad that after all she seemingly overcame, she gave into her rot. And I think that Millicent's quest is there to highlight how Melania betrayed her truly dignified self, to overcome a foe she might not have been able to.

He is defined as a genius multiple times in item descriptions, and "learned" Fundamentalism, unlike Miquella who created it.
His mask also boosts golden order fundamentalism incantations.
The use of "a certain person" is likely meant to be ambiguous, but it could also be a translation error. Could go either way.

Malenias prosthesis are made of unalloyed gold, that is why they don't desapear in her second phase. Her clothes rot away while her golden prosthetis and blade don't are affected. Also I think that Miquellas rune was the one gifted to Renala, the rebirth rune. That is why neither him or the albinaurics archived the metamorphosis they desired, that power was given away by Radagon.
The description of the prosthesis simply says gold and the Hand of Malenia says it was consecrated. No mention of unalloyed gold anywhere. Nothing specifies that it needs to be unalloyed to be resistant to rot given that Iji created blunt weapons resistant to rot as well. There's a chance Miquella put something into the gold of the prosthesis and the katana to protect them from rot hence why they aren't unalloyed. The Needle being Unalloyed to still the rot probably necessitated it to be as such since it's directly affecting her curse-laden body and time is a factor. All speculation, of course.

It may sound weird but im pretty sure Radahn is an analogoy for Fenrir the wolf from norse mythology. I think halting the stars is a clever trick to sap Radahn's power, as Fenrir was bound through the trickery of the Gods.
Excited to watch this! Something silly but curious to me is the intricacies of Trina and her identity, specifically if it may be possible she is (a child of Rennala?) of Carian (royal) blood.

The siege of Carian Manor may very well have seen Rykard and Radahn arriving to defend their childhood home. That alone would have changed the tide imo.

have you noticed the haligttree is in fact 2 trees, we climb down a much bigger seemily alive tree to get to elphiel, we are told the erdtree didn't produce sap for long and it seems the tree i mentioned is currently dripping sap, the alive tree is where the oracles are as well not in the dead tree or surrounding city.... i think we had misinformation or at least misunderstanding of why the tree failed, im guessing the eclipse is needed to turn it from a normal giant tree into something more like the current erdtree giving out light and warmth
@Hawkshaw do you think there's any evidence that the Greater Will and the Elden Beast's intentions split at any point? The dialogue of Enia and the Fingers at Radagon's barrier preventing the tarnished from entering seems to suggest a mismatch in purpose
So for that I think that Enia herself is mentally ready for change (independently of whatever the 2 fingers may think apparently), radagon is holding on to the idea of the golden order and repairing the rune and that's why he and his symbol are blocking access
disk of light is such a op spell goes far, hits 2x and cost like 3fp! cant wait to see what spells the dlc adds, tho im thinking throwing weapons with int scaling, no fp cost.... might end up just using that instead lol
the dlc gonna really add some build diversity as they can be scaled with ashes of war, everyone gonna have at least throwing daggers set to 2nd off hand slot :)

5:15 interesting mural, looks like a root with a ring, and inside that ring the tree, i think it's a metaphor for the world of the lands between the elden ring is reality, even got wolfs (shadows round the bottom) i think the lands between is above the lands of shadow its like bloodborne dlc the world has layers, i think because this world already is the afterlife, like greek or chinese mythology it's got different layers, we die to get to the lands between, i think this a underworld situation

I believe that Radhan being the 'greatest demi-god' is Golden Order propaganda, he's only known for one event and even that isn't 100% attributed to him due to that item description.
Rykard: he fed himself to Eiglay.
Ranni: she isn't much of a fighter, she did beat a glintstone dragon tho.
Miquella: he isn't much of a fighter, and he's the most fearsome empyrean as well.
Malenia: her only feat is that she fought off Radahn.
Morgott: he was shunned and unknown about.
Mohg: only known as the 'Lord of Blood' hasn't fought more than two people.
Godwyn: more of a good friend than anything else, still he was pretty strong.
Messmer: hot AF.
Radahn: crushed the falling stars alone, arresting fate from a young age, fought in like five wars, he then was crippled by madness and his friend spent an age trying to give him an honorable death.
