- We found some crazy stuff wrong with our new porsche 911 turbo build!!! This is why its important to dig all the way down to the inner structures before you start with your framework. We still got a bunch of work on our hands before its ready to be put together, but it'll definitely be a fun one. Thanks For Watching!!!

To remove the sunroof without damaging it you need to use a "Inductor Glass Blaster Kit". It removes windows windshields and sunroofs by induction heating the glue and releasing the glass.

I was thinking the same thing or might even try a heat gun or 2 above and below the seams to heat the adhesive and the using a windshield wire to cut through the adhesive. I'm sure you 2 will figure it out. As a last resort contact Porsche tech support maybe they can share how to remove it, I'm they've dealt with it a time or too.
You mean the sunroof frame that holds the glass that is no longer there!

Vacationed in Chattanooga last summer - rained 5 of 7 days we were there. LOL - seeing that pouring rain brought flashbacks of the rain out time. Great show.
I think it may be time for a guest appearance of VTune... he is the frame guy...I think you should just chop that roof and splice it in and not try to remove that sunroof...also you may need to replace that rear shock tower...but really VTune could give some very good advice

@@maverick4177 comon man, sure hes on try number 3 for the mustang 🤣🤣 but mad props for what he did with that maclaren, that was some insane work....literally tore it down to every single component apart for the engine.
@@maverick4177 He stripped a McClaren and rebuilt it himself...and there is no doubt he is the best frame guy on YT...it would be good content....they went on a ski trip back in January...goons are not frame guys but they are quick studies...they need to replace that roof...and that shock tower...those are major structural support...I learned that from VTune...even if he has some projects still on the jacks
The Porche seems the most technical restoration the boys have undertaken so far. Very fitting for the new shop and I'm certain they will do an incredible job!

What if you guys were to cut the pillars on the roof and just replace the whole thing as one unit? I don't know if it could be done but it would be a whole lot better than messing up the sunroof. I'm sure you guys will figure it out and it will look epic. I just wana say you guys are awesome and I've been watching you guys since the Viper build!
That’s exactly what I was wondering. The viper build is also when I came across this channel. Not sure if that’s the reason I want to see them keep it, or just because it’s the sickest car in the fleet (hands down).

When using the saw cutting the glass out, use some glass cleaner or water for lubrication. It will make life way better! (Glass technician 20years experience)

Considering how technical that roof would be to fix and all of the other issues I would fix the donor car because it needs less body work

I mentioned this when they got the donor car. The blue car chassis is too far gone. Move everything over to the black parts car.

The Trackhawk was the hardest build for you guys in my opinion cuz that was the first rollover vehicle you boys have bought, but now, this is definitely the biggest car rebuild you boys have done! You boys got it!🔥
For the GT2RS front fenders you need to remove the AC lines on the passanger side wheel housing…ideal you get the full GT2RS AC system
That's if they want to make the front fenders vents functional, they most likely will never track this car to even need the extra aero those vents provide 😂

just cut the roof off, it is damaged and use the other cars roof, simple job....no pulling out creased corners. or removing fragil glass tops. if the other Porsche roof is not damaged, the best option is to use it. if u need help call V tuned he is good at replacing roof tops...😎😎

Those rigid shop vac's are amazing. I've used those for my first summer job and it sucks up mud, water, oil, you name it. It's a champ.

Great to see the progress !! FYI, I work at a major franchise body shop. The techs use Parts Caddy's which are like wire shelves with wheels. There are a few.dozen in out shop and they use it to put disassembled parts on. Maybe you guys can get a few. Use can also use them as space separators in the shop as you have other cars being built.
Don’t bother trying to remove the sunroof, just replace the whole roof, cut the pillars, they’re damaged anyway, less you’ll have to repair.
I think that will be the best way also

And post your property against trespassers instead of expecting them to guess. Many wouldn't know it wasn't some kind of new commercial enterprise unless you post it. You could also put up some temporary plastic fencing .
If people want to get in a fence certainly isn't going to stop them. May even make the place more of a target.

In order to swap the solar roof you could cut the doors with the roof from the parts car and weld it so it dosnt gets damaged

Best suggestion is to cut off all four sides of the post on the blue porsche and parts car roof without interfering with sunroof and weld all the post on the blue porsche.

100% my thought as well. They will never be able to duplicate those factory spot welds. They are already half way there with the removal of everything. Just not sure if the front half has damage. Hopefully it doesn’t.
If it was you, you would find out very quickly why that black car was stripped down and not rebuilt, there's a good reason for that.
Could you move the entire top including the pillars? Or just move everything to the black Porche and paint it blue. Probably be easier than chopping everything up moving and welding it.

Any thoughts about having a couple of rolling work tables for you to put your parts on like 8x4 with wheels and a couple of storage shelfs under the main work surface to keep parts together. Couple be made very simply

AS an Ecommerce Manager for a large company -- I can truly say, insane progress with the Dang Sauce guys! Careful with retail brokers FYI now that you're getting into that. Those contractors they deal with can be sketch. The brick and mortar buyers aren't in the loop half the time
Dang sauce will be a tough sell in grocery stores at their price point !! With food prices the way they are up with inflation dont think to many people will be spending $12 dollars for a 6.5 oz. bottle !!!!!

You guys need a heat induction tool to remove the glass without damaging it, that tool makes all the glue super soft and is super easy to remove glass from any car with 0 damage.

All it takes is practice (not ALL it’ll take but it’s the biggest part of learning). I’m happy to see them being accepted into the CZcams car community that’s outside of their little world in Chattanooga.

I've been in the auto body business for 42 years and the best way to fix the roof is to make your cuts at the a pillar and the b pillar and the c pillar will make the repairs easier and very strong. You should also look into a laser measuring system will make repairs spot on good luck
I too was thinking similar to what Leonard was thinking. A and C pillar cut and replace as one component.

I am beginning to think that this Porsche is too far gone. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Maybe you should look for a flood car you can swap all your components into. The damage it too severe. You now have extensive roof and a-pillar damage combined with internal shock tower damage. It will never be 100% unless you use a donor shell.

Yup.....if they do complete it it will be a hack job. It's not properly fixable. That doesn't mean they won't complete it though. Many of their completed vehicles are hack jobs.
