Agree with the other comments. I would definitely consider keeping the Viper. The Plaid will come and go, but that Viper can never be replaced. In the end times of internal combustion engines, it's definitely one to hold onto

Most commercial properties get this treatment. My company built a boiler room and added a restroom. Like these guys, we had to make it handicap accessible. No handicap people would ever be there. It was “code”. Added hundreds of dollars. Stupid.

@@Gantzz321 my 2021 ram $39,000 and can pull a 10,000 lb trailer 300+ mi. the f150 can pull that, but for only 75 to 95 miles then take 2-4 hours (and you have to unhook the trailer your pulling) to recharge or i can pull into a gas station and fill up in 5 min. and go another 300+ mi. it would take me 10 to 12 hours to go from my house to my parents house instead of 3. EV cars and trucks needs a few more decades of innovations before it becomes better than gas or diesel Elon Musk said it himself.

I work landscaping and civil works and that Swale drain is pretty standard for any industrial build.
Generally your contractor will do it as part of the build and it costs nothing because they're already there. It's just materials and 2 days labour. Because the guys decided to build themselves they had to get someone in and remove spoil and bring in extra materials and the inspector was making extra visits.
Sometimes DIY isn't cheaper. We would do this swale for half that cost if we were doing extra work. If I had to bring in all the gear and bring the boys off other sites, yeah. 30k

Yep keep the Viper. Viper is a much better value. The only reason for the price of the Plaid is the demand for new/used vehicles currently. In 10 years the Plaid wont be worth what the Viper is or will be. Not by a long shot. Perfect example is Vipers from the early 2000s are still in the $75-80K+ range. Plus have you seen how much it costs to replace batteries in a Plaid? Not even worth it. It's $13k just for the batteries. He want's the Viper because he knows it's a better value in the long run.

I had something similar with my shed's planning permission to be accepted. I had to add two "soak aways." So rather than letting the water go off across the grass from the gutters, they go into a big 4x4x4 (or so) pit each and each pit is lined with a big membrane and then filled with a pre-washed gravel. In Ireland, most houses would have had their gutters plumbed into the sewers, but now that's not allowed for new builds. I didn't mind doing the soak aways though, because there's massive trees and hedges in the garden that will tap into that water being delivered by them. haha keeps the grass in front of the shed much less mucky!

@@red58impala Very, very few BEVs need a replacement engine, even the 1st gen stuff like Leafs and Zoes which are 10 years old now and don't have half of this gens battery tech. The whole "replacement battery" thing is as logical as suggesting ICE cars need brand new replacement engines at 100k.
The guys should swap the viper for the plaid and then give cash difference as its not worth as much as the tesla.
You guys really need to be super careful and diligent with your privacy and security. I'd get an eight foot tall privacy fence with at least barbed wire on top all the way around. And a heavy duty motorized security gate. I guarantee someone's already eyeballing all your expensive stuff and thinking of how to steal it. Out of everything you've put into this build so far the fence should be top notch. Don't go cheap with your fence. You'll be extremely thankful later.

Why they didn’t plan a paint booth IN the shop is just beyond me! They could have easily added the extra 15-20 feet on to one side and they’d be good. They do some great stuff, but thinking ahead is NOT one of them. So short sighted even with things that are plain as day. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

Definitely need a paint booth somewhere, and even a wash bay! a separate building facing the current one, with the parking lot in the middle, one for work and one for storage.

totally agree, the plaid's value will be less than half after its batteries deteriorate and need to be replaced. Everyone should keep in mind about that guy that blew up its tesla because of the outrageous bill to get the batteries replaced.

That hole you're digging reminds me of cartel & gangster films, where the victim digs his own grave. That thing is an environmental sampling system, IMO. What that means is you *cannot* hose anything off the shop floor or parking lot, dumping coolant, or perhaps even degrease an engine with a pressure washer.
They know you have money, and I think they're "showing concern" with that cleanup on the street with lots of court-loved witnesses like cops and firefighters. Those "check pipes", as Simeon calls them, appear to be environmental sampling wells - if they pick up oils, lubricants, carcinogens (paints, etc) or any other bad runoff -- they'll slap you with massive fines AND make you remidiate the property by digging up all the soil and having it cleaned if they find bad juju. Not good, "dudes".

A lot of garages use an oil and grit separator to keep that stuff from getting into the storm water runoff like you have in your infiltration swale.
Thanks for posting this, i'm glad other people "get it" maybe they realize the implications but don't want to say anything on camera. Literally a few years of delivery trucks dripping oil in the lot, paint dust, and grease from power washing could trigger a future remediation costing them hundreds of thousands.

that swale is actually a really smart thing to add if you value clean water and soil. all that sanding dust, plastics from those washing products drain off the asphalt and into that swale locking it in there. it allows water to flow but filters out the junk. if you didn't have the swale anything that you pour on the ground there will ultimately end up in the rivers and lakes around you. you all enjoy the outdoors and boating on the waters, having a commercial property is part of that. it's good to see a city take care of it's citizens as well as work with them to clean up the community. been watching goonzquad a long time but don't bash the city bc it's the right thing to do for your business. ok i've said my piece and for all I know you all completely understand all this, cheers friends.
