Octatrack is playing the beat with samples on 4 flex tracks. The OT's midi sequencer playing a piano and strings in Kontakt in Ableton Live - the output from those two is sent back to OT for sampling and slicing.

Wow I'm really like this! Are you live glitching the strings and the piano live, or strings and piano were recorded before and sequenced?

Thank you! Yes, I caught a little bit of audio from Ableton before the video was rolling and used that to chop up slices of the piano and strings. Then I blended it in with the sequenced un-affected versions for the video.
