  • In this video, I'm using pre-recorded samples of piano (Felt Instruments Bardzo), strings (Slate & Ash Landforms), and synth drones (Ableton Live's Drift engine) made from Fugue Machine and Chord Jam sequencers with the iPad. I created 20 minutes' worth of generative drones on each of these instruments, then I took 1-minute samples of each recording to load in Samplr on the iPad. Most of the performance is simply mixing these 4 samples.
I sent a portion of this audio from Samplr into a separate channel in AUM that's running Audio Damage Enso looper for tape-style looping underneath, with long, slow decays.
I am playing and mixing this audio over top of a field recording from my backyard last night, as well as the (3) original 20-minute drones that I took the samples from. These are mixed low and playing in Ableton Live, and are fading in and out of the mix with Soundtoys Tremolator running at offset tempos (half and 3/4 speeds) over 16 bars.

    Simply magical!
I’ve discovered Samplr, Borderlands and AUM few years ago and I found these are masterpieces ready to make great music like this!
Very well selected samples, prepared and processed in a very clever manner. Beautiful results, as every video you have uploaded.
How do you load samples in your iPad in order to have it available in your apps?
What are you using for samples playback? Just the AUM built-in tool?
Thanks a lot for sharing your music performances and detailed description!

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. For file management, I use AudioShare. It’s by far the easiest and most effective method and most apps connect directly with it.
