    You have to give credit to the Garmillas Navy. They have suffered so many catastrophic blows it's amazing there are still ships left. The dozens lost to the Yamato's guns, their at the time 2
    3 largest carriers of 4, they lost God knows how many ships in the Navy review when the gas planet got blown up, then the Civil War happened, then the Comet Empire (which also crippled Earth's Navy, talk about aggressive balancing), and now their home planet taking out even more. I really do hope the ships in Iscandar are not the last remaining Garmillian ships because that just about marks the end of their entire naval force.

    • @greatmanuever8558
      @greatmanuever8558 Před rokem +8

      Im pretty sure they have a lot of ships after Iscandar, because we have Dietz's fleet over Galman the subspace gate forces and maybe others in the Empire guarding worlds.

    • @virgilio6349
      @virgilio6349 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @greatmanuever8558 This also begs the question. Remind me again why Garmillians keep trying to take refuge in Iscandar? I know the cultural and religious connotations but when you have such a large fleet scattered in such large areas of the galaxy, I mean we know they have conquered planets before so why not just move eveyone off world? It's not like the death of their world was a secret (I'm pretty sure a lot of Hugh level officials knew).

That giant bullet that was about to crashed landed (aka interplanetary ballistic missile) was replaced with airplane with the head of Osama Bin Laden. And the general was replaced with hollow eye socket grand priest in twisted way. And lastly at the end of the video there was bear naked Chizumi from Junji Ito. So what do you think of it?

    Correction : The Garmillas Navy has millions of ships during the Earth-Garmillas war but thousands of ships got destroyed by the Yamato when Yamato explode the Balun Planet and thousands of ships can't escape when the planet exploded and make a very heavy losses to the Garmillas Navy. In the 2202, the Garmillas is weaker compared to the 2199, they only have thousands of ships because of the civil war, Earth-Garmmilas Alliance Gatlantis war and the empire falling apart, they lost thousands of ships to the Gatlantis. In the 2205 the Garmillas Navy is even more weaker because they only have hundreds of ships compared to 2202 and 2199, they even lost more ships when the Dezariam invasion started, they lost even more this time hundreds of of ships destroyed, making the Great Garmillas Empire is just a history. If Yamato and his friends didn't came to help, the Garmillas will be defeated

    For Gamilas strike craft/space fighter, if one looks at the full name of each they will realize that their names actually lifted straight off from aircraft fielded by the Luftwaffe with one exception which was lifted from the Imperial Japanese Navy instead. But then again, the original Space Battleship Yamato portrayed Gamilas as a caricature of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, so it's probably intentional as a nod to its former incarnation.
    DMB.87 Snuka = Junkers JU 87 Stuka
    DWG.109 Debake = Messerschmitt Bf 109
    DWG.229 Melanca = Horten Ho 229
    DWG.262 Czvarke = Messerschmitt ME 262
    FWG.97 Doshira = Nakajima B5N Type 97
    And then, if the author of the channel gets to the Gatlantis/Comet empire, their ship classes are named in South American language instead. But most are misspelled like Karakulum which is actually Calakmul, for example.

    • @minimalbstolerance8113
      @minimalbstolerance8113 Před 8 měsíci +2

      Yeah, there were a lot of nods to Nazi Germany in 2199. The names of some of the Gamilas officers are inspired by real WW2 German officers (the most obvious example being Domel, an obvious riff on Rommel) and the scene with the young Gamilas reservists where Domel expresses his doubts about them, then one of the reservists starts singing the Gamilas anthem and everyone joins in is an almost 1 to 1 copy of the "Panzer lied" scene from the 50s war movie "The Battle of the Bulge."

    It would be interesting if you'd do a fleet or ship-related video for the Galactic Empire from Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It's not a well-known show but if you've done the analysis on them already, sorry I pestered you about it! I just believe that personally, Legend of the Galactic Heroes isn't that mainstream and while it got a reboot, I would prefer if you did the original series rather than Die Neue These.
    Very good informative video though, it will certainly help when I write for SBY again! Thank you for this.

      @@UtopianBroadcast1 Totally agree, lots of Sci-Fi's out there that deserve just as much attention or more than some others. You take your time with it though! I know two of the movies can be easily found here but the original series is harder to find.
      If you do want to go with Die Neue These with the review I won't mind! I merely like the original over the reboot since the reboot changes designs for ships wildly compared to the original.

    • @machaiping
      @machaiping Před rokem +4

      @@darthtarkin3105 Actually, from practical engineering perspective, Die Neue These Free Planet Alliance ship design is a lot more practical/utilitarian than their original design, from my understanding and observation:
      - Front mounted engines coupled with front mounted generator and main weapons = less power cables/conduits running from one end of the ship to another like other Sci-Fi ships which use rear mounted engines/generator, which equal to less mass and less material used. And arguably as another layer of armor for the rear living quarter like Real Life Merkava Main Battle Tank design.
      - Engine arrangement of port/starboard and multiple thrusters stacked in blocks means the ship doesn't require dedicate maneuvering thrusters dotting almost everywhere on the hull of traditional ship to turn at all; it simply shutting down selected main engine blocks (like shut down starboard engine block to turn right, or shut down upper engine block to turn up, for example.) which is again, saving more cost. And not to mention less opening in its armor plating across the hull. The only downside of this arrangement is that it cannot 'turn in place' like other traditional Sci-Fi designs.
      - Retractable bridge, this's redundancy, when sensory and navigation module fail, the crews can still navigate using MK 1 eyeball direct sight, as shown in the first episode of the first season.

We would be unlikey to use fighter type craft, but if we did they would be more similar to B5's Starfury's than X-wings.

    I am confused as to why the small-craft weapons are listed as machine guns when they are clearly energy-based. Also, everything you said about the Snuka is just extremely misleading. Dive bombers do need to dive on their targets to get a good shot.
    BUT NOT IN SPACE!!!!!! There's no up or down in space, you don't dive, you turn. It's a zero-gravity environment, the projectiles are going to go exactly where you aim them, so the idea of a dive bomber in space is absurd.
