One interesting thing that I find fascinating about the ship class of the remake is the Dreadnought. Thanks to the modern Sci-fi we often associate this particular name as a class of the biggest, baddest ship of any given faction in any given Sci-fi setting nowadays and forget its significance in our naval history. But for Yamato 2202, it actually parallels the original namesake, HMS Dreadnought, that launched in 1906, in that it signifies an emergence of a new generation of ships that renders all its predecessor completely obsolete. (Pre-dreadnought battleships/ Pre-Iscandar Cosmo Navy ships) So, it being called Dreadnought class is actually quite fitting even if they're not that big when compared to "Dreadnought" in other Sci-Fi.
Especially trusting organizations, funny thing tho that they promise everyone that they shall solve each of the worlds problems, yet some of them still behaving like cults.

Agreed unfortunately if it wasn’t for the lack of technology or limitations then humanity wouldn’t have suffered as badly as it did during the gamilas invasion
Not really, the Earth fleet fired the first shot on the Gamilas scouting party without warning. Had they not initiated the war, they might be able to negotiate into an immigration & technology exchange deal seen in 2202 and 2205 without blood shed. Also, the cruisers and Kongo have spinal shock cannon (aka Yamato's primary cannons) and had successfully taken out several Gamilas ships, seen in Yamato 2202 "Documentary" OVA.

My favorite is definitely the Yamato class battleship! They had the original focused wave motion gun which was a nightmare weapon to be unleashed! Plus her heavy shock cannons were no slouch either! Because those shock cannons torn Gamilon to pieces, it ripped an entire continental shelf on Gamilon, and that was BEFORE the upgrade!! Plus the bow and stack missiles, and pulse laser turrets made the Yamato (a.k.a. Argo) a killing machine when unleashed! Both Captains Avatar and Wildstar knew when and how to use the best weapon for the maximum advantage!
Found the starblazers theme song not long ago on a mp3 download site. Great song and earth only has so many days in the year until total destruction. I came to school late when the series finale was on.....
I find it interesting that Yamato's designation code is BBY-01, and Ginga's BBY-03, so that makes me wonder what happened to BBY-02, if there ever was one
Unlike the Ginga, the Musashi actually filled its role as an Exploration ship more with its destination heading to the center of the Milky way Galaxy by 2220
Thanks for all you do. I loved your Dilgar Fleet analysis. Are you likely to do one on the Orieni Empire Fleet from Babylon 5? There's about as much info on them as the Dilgar though pictures are harder to come by.
I love the detail that before receiving wave motion technology, they used shock cannons as spinal mount super weapons, but once they had the tech it became their standard gun.
There is also the tiger 1, the black single pilot craft with two cannons and a lot of missiles that was piloted by Akira Yamamoto in 2202, but I understand why there isn’t even a brief mention about it as we know pretty much nothing about it.
I wonder if you would do the UN Spacy now reformed to the NUN'S from the Macross franchise. I mean both series did start from the same studio, SDF Macross and Star Blazers both come from Studio Nue. Also just the amount of fighters in Macross man you might have a fun time researching the in depth lore of a lot of mass production fighters and the designs are all done by Shoji Kawamori for the fighters, and all of them are sick and slick designs for fighters.
Wave Motion Gun of the UNCF would simply anihilate Exegol, before it ships could be launched. Even then, much more flexible FTL of the SBY universe, would give signifant advantage to the Gamilas-Earth fleet. Simply jump in, fire all munitions, and jump out.
@@tankguy5312 SBY ships can smack SW ships, unless if they have planetary shields then theyll have to resort to using wave motion guns which will obliterate the shields and planets
Makes me wonder what if the galactic alliance between the imperial remnants and the rebels manage to produce their own positron cannons from the Gamilas vessels that they captured.
@@tankguy5312 they won't capture as in 2202, the gamilas empire is on good terms with earth and them and earth just blown up exegol saving the galaxy. Any salvaged gamilas positron cannons would be inferior to the UNCF positron cannon. It would probably be used by pirates due to its low energy cost unless they get access to wave motion technology in which turns every ship into a planet sterilizer. If antimatter weapons had the same range of turbo lasers, it would be fired when there is a gap in enemy shielding to exploit the vulnerability.
Arrrgh my ears! This is probably a little bit of just stickler nature, this video is absolutely amazing by good lord the pronunciation leaves a lot to be desired. Oh well! The information is still great and I applaud you, though perhaps in the future, might be nice to double check the pronunciation of certain foreign words (Not helped by the show making up their own words, some of the Garmillan ships have.... difficult names) Prime example, Murasame is not pronounced mura-same, it's "Mura-sah-may" - just for future reference. It’s technically wrong that there’s only 2 Yamato class. There’s actually 3 which is Yamato BBY-1 Musashi BBY-2 and Ginga BBY-03. Musashi never appear in 2202 but the wiki confirms there’s a second Yamato class.
