Hi could you advise why you prefer easy equities compared to most bank only shares accounts?
The main reason is because of the cost. EE has very low investment cost compared to other platofrms. But at the end of they its just a brokerage. You can use many different companies to buy shares. I just prefer Easy equities

Do you get levied tax on the capital growth of US domiciled stock (as a South African investor)?
I know there is about 15% tax on dividends.
Yes, you get taxed with capital gains tax depending on the time period you held on to the shares. You also get charged a dividing withholding tax of 20% directly on the app so your dividends will effectively be taxed already when you receive the payout. Hope that helps 🙏🏻

In a previous video you mentioned that EasyEquity isn't the right platform to invest in ETF's and is better for individuals stocks. Did I misunderstand you or could you expand on that thought more?
Thanks for watching. Easy equities works just fine for ETFs , I use it for individual shares and for ETFs. Its certainly one of the cheaper options out there.

My US dollar account has a negative balance that keeps growing on easy equities. What could be causing that?
What is the negative balance amount. It might be because of the R25 platform fee?

How much time do you spend researching and reading about investing?
I read daily. But when reaearching a potential stock it can take months before I invest.
I like both lol but I’m invested more in individual stocks…

It looks like your US shares are performing better that local ones. Is this always the case?
Great observation. Most of the time, Us shares outperform the local market. Especially indexes. But you do get great returns with local individuals shares as well.
