The real reason I DONT invest in EasyProperties
In 2020 EasyEquities released a product that they called EasyProperties, and since then it has been the talk of the investing world. Because by using EasyProperties, you could invest in real world properties, from a very low cost and receive your dividends or rental income every 3 months. Allowing thousands of south africans to be partial landlords and plenty of people were getting in on the train.
But although i work in the property industry, studied property investment at 3 different universities and have worked on some of the biggest developments in johannesburg. I in fact was not one of them. And since then i've received questions and comments asking whether I would invest in EasyProperties. so in today's video. I’m going to tell you exactly the reason why I havent invested in EasyProperties, the pro’s and the cons, and if I wanted to invest in property, where I would rather be investing instead. So if you want to know what i think of this newer feature on EasyEquities. As well as where, and where not to invest your money in property or for passive income. Then this video will give you those answers.

2 years into investing with Easy Properties..... not seen a cent for rental dividends. Complete lie.
Also, its a nightmare to sell these shares
I've had multiple dividends but the worst thing is to sell. This is the worst platform I can't share with people enough.
Biggest issue for me is that you have to wait 3 months for the auction, and when the auction is active I have never seen it selling higher than 100c its always around 70-75c this will mean a loss as it was purchased for 100c . This means you will never be able to sell your shares at a profit :( and I have had it since 2021.

Property is an non-liquid asset. It doesn't exhange money quite often. Less liquidity. It's better to long term invest in it rather than intra trade it .

Hi, may i ask, why is it that on easy equities demo and real the numbers dont match? And on demo it goes up, but on real money it goes down? Yes for the exact same product.
Liquidity is really a factor. I would like to know how long do they keep these properties in their portfolio?
The Pros definitely outweigh the cons for me
-real estate works like that, it depends on the reason why u investing, any investment with dividends + capital growth in a good location where the economy is good like cape Town
- stability with less to non volatility
- inflation hedge & steady growth.
