Ditto. I’m a 78’ born and was 5 when he was drafted. I was young but I was a fan of basketball even at that age because of uncles and my grandpa who were deep deep sports fanatics during the bird/magic era. I witnessed it all. From his insane boston games to his first championship to his last. Must watch TV was when he played. Those days. The feeling was incredible. They played so hard man. The whole dam league did. Not just MJ. It was a defensively great league then. Scoring was just secondary to it. It came as a result of great defensive efficiency. Not only that but teams then stayed together longer. They had amazing chemistry. Players knew eachothers strengths and weaknesses. It’s hard to explain but those days were just insanely great. Miss it dearly……🙏🏼😔👍🏼🤙🏼✊🏼

I've probably spent more time watching highlights of him then watching Lebron (who I really dislike) play in real time. As a fan and former player, Mike has the most electric game I have ever seen, maybe on both ends of the court, and his mentality, although I am sure was tough to be around at times, is what led to his success. He also didn't try to get coaches fired if they didn't succeed like Lebron. He tried to strengthen the relationship. He took full accountability which I appreciate. Yep, this was pulled off a completely different interview. And Jordan said when he came back the league had changed a lot, and he was blown away at the size of Shaq the first time he saw him. Said he couldn't stop looking at him during warm ups, and was a bit intimidated. But once he knew he could beat him, he just became another player.

I was at the 1st game mentioned in this video. Sat right on the floor. At one point Pippen took the ball out of bounds right in front of me, he was so close I could've reached out and touched him. It was my 1st Bulls game, I was 14 years old and it was amazing. My father took my 2 brothers and me. The tickets belonged to a client of his and he wasn't using them that night. It was disappointing that the Bulls lost but to see MJ erupt for 64 points was spectacular.

I was born and raised in Chicago in the Jordan era. Best time of my life. The whole City would come out after the buzzer went off and we won, drive around honking their horns hanging out their windows, year after year. It was insane. I remember having the super soaker 3000 with the backpack riding around spraying people. I feel bad for sports fans that couldn't experience that. There will never be another MJ or time like that, nor a super soaker era, EVER😂

Fans around the country saw him on ESPN or the nationally televised games but the Bulls were on WGN every night here and what you see in the highlights is just what he did every single game.
He came into the league dominating players and then the Bulls dominated the NBA.

When he told you what he was gonna do to you it was because he'd already done it 1000 times before he walked onto the floor. His greatest strength was probably that he didn't take any of his god-given talents for granted. He was the hardest worker in the league.

What may be forgotten by some is the next season came around and the Bulls went 72-10. The first time they played Orlando early in the season Orlando actually beat them and without Shaq. Penny went off for like 38 points that game and I believe handed Chicago their first loss of the season without Shaq. That's when the media started to call Orlando Penny's team by some and the rift between Shaq/Penny camp began as later on that season Reebok did a commercial with Shaq and at the end of it he knocked a lookalike Lil Penny off the chair and following year was in LA. I know Penny and Shaq all good these days but sadly at that time was a rift.

Kukoc added 16 off the bench, but on Orlando's end, Anferne Hardaway was hot. He made 12 of 18 shots including 4/7 from three point range for 36 points. He uncharacteristically recorded 0 assists.
