  • This one is an extremely emotional piece of art. It left me speechless, I am unable to articulate why this makes me feel the way it does. Beautiful song

    This was quite something wasn’t it? I believe Lene Marie Fossen was a friend of Susanne Sundførs and that's why she did the musical accompaniment to this programme about her life. The shot where she's in hospital and a woman is sitting holding her hand, that's Susanne Sundfør and that sets me off every time. But you were recommended a great way to start a Susanne journey, she's a seriously influential Norwegian artist who has paved the way for many other Norwegian female singer songwriters. She's like Eivør in many ways, to me the next place you go with her is her Collab with Royksopp - running to the sea, undercover (Live version as well as studio), White Foxes, Silicon Veil or if you want an album review go to Ten Love Songs. You keep picking up on my absolute favourite artists! Keep up the good work.

    Beautiful and a real heart warming reaction Yeedeed. Susannes own "Undercover" live at The Stoller Hall shows her vokal abilities and presence

      Thank you for your comment Einar! I am adding this one to the request list. Susanne sounded amazing on this, but I know I am yet to hear more of her capabilities for sure

      I second that - "Undercover" is my favourite of Susanne Sundfør!

    thanks you got into it! the word "timelessness" in her lyrics has a very deep meaning in this song, because lene wanted to be timeless, she wanted to stop growing, she didn't want to be an adult. at that time in life she got her first camera and she realized: she could really stop time, in her pictures, but also on her body. that was the moment where she stopped eating.
    and with this state of being this terminal ill and tiny woman, with her little little camera, she was able to get very connectet to the people she is portraying. they trusted in her imediately. what a loss for the world of photography.
    i have listened to this song a thousand times and every time it makes me burst into tears.
    heartwarming reaction.

    Yeedeed, I thank you for that. It's no shame in crying, you know. I weep like every time I see this, and I am no persilledusk (as we say in Norway)

    • @Yeedeed
      @Yeedeed  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you, I know. What does Persilledusk mean?

    • @kayleighmoran
      @kayleighmoran Před 3 lety +1

      @@Yeedeed Literally persilledusk means "a leaf of parsley" But in Norway its used as describing someones who is very tender and sensitive. But, take my advice now, you must just bring it all on.

    A BEAUTIFUL REACTION. The music and the pictures talks here, and words become small. Susanne shows her vocals in the beautiful Undercover from Stoller Hall.

    I'll take it like a man and I am crying like a little b****.. This is absolutely beautiful and mindblowingly hard to watch.. As a Dane I feel that Susanne is a near and dear relative because of the history of our two countries and I will be a hardcore fan as long as I live.. She does have a lot more upbeat songs to show.. My favorite is "Accellerate".. The beauty of her voice combined with the harshness of the song, makes it my favorite.. Thank you for this reaction video.. She does something to us all and therein lies the beauty..

    It is a really touching piece of work. This was originally just meant to be a song to the documentary about Lene (the photographer) her life, illness and work. She ended up dying before she could see it finished and the song became somewhat of a lament.
    I always cry when I hear it, it just resonates with something inside.

    Oh man... Great reaction Mike!
    This was a tough one. I'm a non professional photographer (gone to schools and so on)
    but I've totaly missed Lene Marie fossen... OMG
    This was amazing and so tough to see. Amazing photographs and honesty behind it.
    WOW!!!
    This.... I have no words.
    And together with this song and the voice of Susanne Sundfør.
    Powerful and strong and it hits you hard.
    This was an eye opener for me Mike. Thank you!
    Be safe

    Not a big deal but I've heard the FOR in Sundfor in Norwegian is pronounced like we say fjord ... ( without the d )
    ~ that line through the O signifies that sound ...
    It's funny ; reminds me ... most of us say BEE YORK for Bjork ...
    Even though in Icelandic it's pronounced BERK ... Oh , language !

    • @Orjonast
      @Orjonast Před rokem

      No, Ø is pronounced similar to the e in "earth", or the u in "turn". Bjørk is pronounced as spelled, in a quite mundane manner. English speakers will add vowels making it into bEEEE-joooohhhkkah" and other weird things. It really is very easy - just think of how you pronounce Birch, because that is what her name is! 😃

    Sometimes as an artist .. you have to leave and come back ... to work on it some more ..
    The balance you strive for is to know when to stop ..
