Those with npd, which is an uncommon condition, tend to tell others that their feelings are "fake". It comes from the sense of "entitlement" they think they have to declare the private inner emotions of strangers in whatever way they fancy. Never listen to anyone who uses the word "fake" to describe another human being.
Ps. Larry your video response is the mark of a REAL PERSON. An intelligent compassionate gentleman.
      Respect to you.

Thank you very much for reacting to this, Chris ! You know, this is a song I wouldn't recommend to just ANY reactor, or just ANY human being. I almost feel bad for putting you through it, but I'm also very happy that you reacted the way you did. I guess this song touches you even more when you're aware of the story behind it, like many people here in Norway do. Or at least more peole here than most other places, as both Susanne and Lene Marie Fossen are Norwegian. The fact that the two were close, personal friends just makes this SO incredibly beautiful IMO. Such a beautiful tribute to Lene the artist, but also Lene the human being. As much as she struggled with her anorexia herself, she never failed in portraying those in need and that somehow were even worse off than herself. Having watched the documentary "Self Portrait" also adds another dimension to it. But even without this knowledge this song and video just pulls on you. The emotional roller coaster you get from seeing the despair, the hope, the beauty, her harsh illness, mixed with the "when the Lord" message is very special indeed.
So thanks again, my friend. And there will be no more PSSST!s from THIS bloke. I promise :-)

What a beautiful reaction, I was crying along with you even though Ive seen the video many times already.
Susanne is definitely not that young, she was probably 32 when she sang this. Her voice is amazing, and the refugee crisis on Chios along with the pictures of Lene knowing that she died before her film self portrait came out is just very heartbreaking. She never wanted to die but she was so deep into her illness that nothing could help her.
I remember seing an interview of her live on the breakfast tv show.
She had been in and out if treatment since she was 10 and died at 30 or 31 years old and left a legacy of beautiful photos and was an inspiration to many. What started off her anorexia was the fear of growing up, so as she starved herself from the age of 10 she stopped growing😢.
Susanne’s lyrics are often very deep and tragic even though her songs might not all come across dark melody wise.
I hope you do another reaction to one of her other songs, this is definitely the saddest one so the next one wouldn’t be as gut wrenching.
I love her : Silicone veil (live at Skavland) version.
    She is so talented.

YOu would be bawling if you knew the backstory before the reaction 😅
Lene Marie Fossen battled anorexia her whole adult life, and sadly passed away late 2019... This is a video they made for her "self portrait" documentary aboyt Lene Marie.. as someone else wrote further down, Susanne Sundfør is the woman by the bedside at the hospital... all thou this video is very emotional, it does not credit Susanne as much as other songs... Undercover, the brothel, sillicon vail, white foxes are songs were she really shines :)
But thanks for this reaction, i really enjoyd it (as all the others) it's about time Susanne get some recognition around the world.. she is a brilliant artist, and EXTREMELY good live :)

No worries about the waterworks, this music video should come with a warning; bring tissues... 🌊💧
It's the "music video" for this song, but song is written for the documentary "SelfPortrait". It is a documentary about the young photographer Lene Marie Fossen, who decided to stop eating at a very young age, and developed anorexia. A documentary I recommend, it should be mandatory in every elementary school or at least high school. It's raw and touching, and straight to the bone.
Susanne Sundfør is a Norwegian singer, she's had hits w film music for Oblivion (Tom Cruise) She's born in 1986, same year as the woman in the documentary (maybe they were friends growing up) and we see Susanne in a glimpse sitting by the bed in the hospital.
Susanne has already released 6 solo albums and won several musical awards in Norway.

"When The Lord" was also an eyeopening song for Norwegians as well as we might be not very well prepeared for the uncomfy things that actually life is. However, I admire you for taking this song into you and lif it up to something people can relate to.

What always gets me in this video is the refugee kids, Lene’s mother crying at the photo exhibition plus Susanne by Lene’s bedside at the hospital and when the imagery is suggesting she «went out the door» and you see a bright light (suggesting she has passed on) and her mother is hugging someone. 😢
I wonder how other people interpret the imagery. Like those blurry photographies that seem to be of Lene with just a face from the side?

Susanne did credit to the anorexic artist, Lenexa. This gets me every time. Whenever was 10 she decided not to eat any more. I have no idea why. It's amazing she lived along as she did. Your reaction was so good.

She is the best one breath control vocalists in my option in the world and she does it sitting down. The song is called Akin aka Nalang. I hope you give her a try please and thank you.

    So beautiful.
I am glad you are willing to branch out in your music reactions.
I would love for you to react to Avi Kaplan.
Technically/Classically he is listed as a Basso Profundo but has a very nice 5+ octave range and is also a polyphonic/overtone singer, so he also has a whistle voice.
With an offer from the L.A. Opera, he made a decision to join the newly forming A Capella group
Pentatonix with whom he remained for 6 years.
He left them in a total state of mental breakdown.
Most of his songs are centered around healing and restoration.

      When The Lord
      Susanne Sundfør
      Let me go back
      To when I was young
      Here, I was born
      Here, I will die lonesome
      Let there be light
      Let there be love
      Hear the bells
      Ringin' our song
Wake me, wake me, wake me up, my darling
When the Lord has descended on us
All the worries that you carried with you
They are lost in a warm embrace
      Timelessness
      Far away
      From the land
      Where love is shame
And shame is love of a prison
      Away from the dark
      Snow-covered hearts
Softly, lay your hands on me
Wake me, wake me, wake me up, my darling
When the Lord has descended on us
All the worries that you carried with you
