Agreed! Berserk was my first Manga, only started it in 2020, and fell in love with the story and characters. Now I'm finding it really difficult to read any other Manga XD

i really like how the recent chapters have felt distant from guts, usually it feels like were following him but now its like we get to see an outside perspective on this giant of a man in his worst place.

It could be because MIURA was the one the KNEW Guts & so we always followed his journey through his eyes/mind/etc.
But now since KOUJI is finishing the story we are now following Guts through a different POV this time.

Seeing Guts like this may not be what everyone wants, but oh well. It's essential. It humanizes Guts as a person, and not just some super, mega, strong killing machine. It makes him even more relatable. I've been there, just so broken someone could stick a rock up your ass, and not even be acknowledged. It sucks, but it happens.
Absolutely... And it's harsh medicine for him as well. He's been struggling with his inner beast and never mastered it, and could potentially kill his loved ones and himself if he keeps behaving like a mad dog (which ironically works 99 percent of the time) j

Honestly guys. Its almost hurting me seeing Guts going through this and not being able to resist, plan an escape, or do anything. I got into Berserk when I was a little too young. Guts became a pillar of struggle and bravery in the face of insurmountable darkness. It sucks to see him so broken down. Worse than after the Golden Age.

The fact that Daiba is implied to have some sort of scheme is really getting me hyped, given that he's an expert on the magical so him and the other Kushan practitioners can pool their resources with the magicians from Elfhelm, including Schierke and Farnese, to devise a way forward. However, whether Guts is gonna go along with it is another story.
Knowing Daiba, it's going to have a huge negative to the power boost. Nothing is for free.

@@GallowglassVT It has to be. He can literally create man made Apostles. He can upgrade Guts, but still even Shiva form couldn't do anything to Griffith.
@TheCaptainhowdy11 a thought has occurred to me since I wrote my reply. Dragonslayer can kill almost anything due to sitting in both the astral and physical world, but it doesn't have the same capabilities as SK's Behelit Sword. However, Guts still has a Behelit. What if they use that to give Dragonslayer a boost? That way, Guts might be able to not just land a hit on Griffith, but also potentially the other God Hand members.

Seeing Rickert reunite with Guts does give me hope! I'm so excited to see them talk again!
So do I, but the other question I have on this moment is how Erica will react to Casca's kidnapping because she was Casca's caretaker before Farnese (for a longer amount of time than Farny), If she hears Guts was unable to stop Griffith from taking her away, she might feel extremely betrayed!
Berserk is all about humanity. I like the way the story goes.
I really liked the expressions in this chapter. There was a clear yet subtle glance of pity from Rickert, one can easily imagine what he's thinking ("What happened to him? Is this the same man I saw last time?"). They've really improved their expressions, they *almost* look like Miura's drawings.

Feeling blessed with having a chapter out today! I'm appreciating the story moving forward and still somehow leaving us on the edge to see what else is coming along the way.
There's something going on with Puck, he's never usually this passive or quiet. Especially with Guts like this

i think studio gaga and Mouri are using this as a chance to bring puck back to his old self bc they know its what the fans want
Berserk draws so much from Jungian psychology, Guts’s current condition seems to be a natural reaction when viewed through that lens. The beast of darkness is the manifestation of Guts’s “shadow” and at this point in the story, Guts is still actively suppressing his shadow. It’s active by proxy through the berserker armor, but every time the armor takes over, there’s always a serious personal risk or else it’s held in check by Schierke/moonlight boy. While the shadow is dangerous, it plays an important role in providing strength and motivation. Guts answered the despair of the eclipse with shadow-driven rage, and that’s what kept him alive and brought him to greater heights of power. Now lacking that shadow, Guts also lacks the driving internal force that kept him fighting for so long. To Jung, true self actualization comes not from dominating the shadow but by integrating it, and I think that’s the Guts we’ll see by the end of the series.

When you mentioned the purpose of Guts quest was to get Casca to Elfhelm it made me think about the parallels with her journey into the astral world to become whole again. Maybe Diaba will need to do something similar with Guts to keep him from being consumed by vengeance like Skull Knight. I mean specifically repairing him the way the Flower Storm Monarch helped Casca. ITs clear Diaba still has his abilities even in this chapter. Just speculation of course but, I feel like Guts needs some healing of his own and maybe Shierke and Farnese can get a more detailed picture of him. As this theory goes there are a lot of satisfying ways this can play out and if Guts needs a recharge this is the way I would do it. Kind of similar to a newtons cradle, the wind up is the part we are at right now. The initial strike will be the healing memory dive by Diaba that will catapult the rest of the group to grow. This growth will further support Guts in new ways and strengthen him to a competitive level with Griffith. At some point here they could get Casca back who has gone through similar and equal progress ( or shit, who knows, maybe the armor comes off of Guts and she gets it and kicks ass or something).
As a side note here, every time we see Rickert after the events of the eclipse the story tends to rearrange or Guts changes something about himself. Like talking to Goto, or getting his armor fixed as an example. My guess is Rickert isn't just here to say hello or tell Guts how he smacked the shit out of Griffith. No, I think we're about to see a change unlike anything we've seen to date (and that's saying something given how long this story has been going on), and it will have to be if they hope to keep pace with the new band of the hawk.

I'm very content with how the chapters' storyboard and pacing just keeps getting better on each release. The crew at Studio Gaga & Kouji Mori has shown yet again that they care about the material.

I think that its good that the manga is milking how much despair guts is going through. We've always known that he's struggled with his mental health usually releasing he's emotion as anger and violence(hence the beast of darkness) but he really needs to process and even come to another convection, one that's made from all the pain he's endured and one of a person who goes beyond repressing emotions but accepting things while still choosing to fight for what/who he loves. That will not only allow Casca to see him for the amazing man he is but might even be the key to finally stopping Griffth since we all know he's coming towards him in the east.
Damn this has to be the longest Guts has been in a state of despair since forever. I wonder how many chapters he will be like this for
Guts and all of us are feeling despair because we can't escape to anger anymore. We have to look sorrow in the eye.
Rickert is at his most beautiful in this chapter.
I am loving the cover art on this chapter. Those blues are perfect, as Guts is at his lowest point, and has 'the blues' so to speak.
I've only been reading Manga since 2020, and my first was Berserk. As a new-comer it's hard enough to wait for the new chapters, but for those who have been reading for all these years it must be awful!
It's slowly coming to an end, and I'd like to believe that Miura would be very proud of his old friend, Mori doing Guts, Casca & Co. good 🙂

This video just made me appreciate this chapter 10x more, great analysis. It's easy to jump to the conclusion that nothing or very little is happening in terms of the pace, but the layers in each chapter still have crazy depth.

To be honest the recent chapters are really slow paced.
They could have shown that Rickert meet and interacted with Rodrick in Chapter 364,instead of replaying the same thing that happened the previous chapter of Kushan takeover and showing only 2 pages of Rickert.

I would love to see Casca free herself somehow instead of being a damsel in distress again. I know this is all setting up to force Guts to square off with Griffith again but if she escaped on her own, and Guts caught up with her, Griffith still needs to keep her in control due to the Moonlight Boy effect. So we still get the conflict we're looking for, but give Casca's character a chance to grow.
I totally agree. I feel like Casca needs to find her voice again. Would love to see more panels dedicated to her and finding herself again.
Yeah, it's about time for Casca to get more character development, and even Miura himself said she'll have to come to deal and accept the traumas from the Eclipse, without the aid of Griffith or Guts!

Every chapter reinforces my confidence in the quality of the coming manga. That panel of guts looking into his armor, head down, eyes barely visible, was amazing (2:32).
I will say, and this could just be the rip from the actual manga onto the internets fault, but it seems a bit less toned than Muiras style, like it almost seems less inked, but that’s certainly my imagination or the rip, or a mix of the two I feel. I bet if I went back and looked at miuras Art it would be obvious I’m just imagining things and imagining his art different than it actually was.

The scenes with Isidro was great, he was most likely expecting to see Guts kill everyone there as soon as he came out. Then that being shattered as Guts falls down in front of him.

Isidro had idolized Gut's tenacity and fighting style for so long. The look of betrayal on his face plus the look of complete total despair on Gut's face hurt so much. But at least Guts didn't go berserk and hurt one of his friends that would have been awful. Hopefully best bro Rickertt can help Guts get back up again!

Something interesting about the city they go to is that it looks heavily inspired by Constantinople during the Ottoman years. Hell the Mosque in the image looks almost exactly like Hagia Sophia
Sure, the Bakiraka Clan itself might be using a hideout in the mountains, but the Kushan Empire needed some kind of capital during its invasion, and “the city of the world’s desire” definitely seems like it would be suitable for that role
