    Nice to know someone is actively pursuing use of shock wave therapy to improve erectile function. The only question in my mind is why a man would choose a radical prostatectomy when the side effects are so significant and last up to 2 years before whatever improvement that is going to happen actually happens.

      Thank you for your comment, treatment choice is a very individual and often challenging decision to make, as you mentioned it's a weigh-up of the side effects, effectiveness, and other factors. We hope to make a video covering this topic in the future, it's definitely a 'Touchy Subject' that needs to be discussed more.

      @@ATouchySubject agreed and understood, my bias is obviously towards quality of life. Of all the cancers out there, prostate is one of the most treatable ones, and I think too many men either choose surgery out of fear or because they are pressured to. Love all of your content and would love to see a video on this subject!

    Here is what Google says
    How many times can you do shockwave?
    Generally, 3-5 treatment session is necessary, with one treatment being done every 5-10 days. The standard protocol indicates 3 treatments be completed for optimal long term results, even if you are experiencing no pain after the first visit.

      Hi Ian, thanks for sharing this information. The amount of sessions required will likely vary as Dr. Milios shared in the video depending on their individual situation so it is always best to seek tailored advice. We will share the Australian practitioners list soon :)

    Thanks Vic what an interesting session,I had no idea about shock wave therapy. Very informative being good for ED but incontinence also.
    I do not live in Australia, but in Canada on west coast. What would be available in Canada?

      Hi there, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, at this point we are only able to compile a list for practitioners in Australia and New Zealand because we want to only include practitioners that we know well. Possibly in the future this will become even more comprehensive but until then, please enquire with your family doctor or GP to ask if they have a referral for this that they recommend.

    Hi Dr Jo.
    Thank you for your good work. I am 58 years old and 13 months post radical prostatectomy. At around 7 months, I developed Peyronies, I saw your video on the ultrasound treatment and a local physiotherapist has been giving the prescribed treatment. After 7 treatments, there is no notable improvement (still early days I guess
)
    On the ED side, I am seeing some slow recovery, and using Trimix weekly. So I’m hoping I can benefit from shockwave therapy in both respects!
    Can you please share where in Queensland I can find this treatment?

    How much does a shockwave therapy machine cost?
    Shockwave therapy systems generally cost in the region of USD$1,000 to $4,000. Once submitted, we will try and place you in contact with a suitable Shockwave Therapy Systems supplier within 48 hours.

      Hi Ian, it looks as though you have been doing some research, thank you for sharing this information! It sounds like the cost for a machine is less in America, perhaps that's why Dr. Milios mentions this being more prevalent there.
