  • This is a video that i should have done about a year ago, But anyway..i finished removing the pedal assist on the controller and removed a bunch of un needed wires from the wiring harness. before i closed up the case i beefed up the shunt with some solder and applied a bead of solder on the mosfet rail to allow more amp flow.

On my cyc stealth set up, I simply unplugged the lead going to the pedals, and that deleted pedal assist. Absolutely the best riding experience I have had. Instead of the computer deciding how much pedal assist to give during the ride, you just manually add power whenever you want with the throttle. I find I actually peddle the bike much more now and enjoy being in complete control of how much power the motor adds throughout the ride.

Thanks for sharing got a lot out of your video. Especially trace shunt solder mod, extra mosfet solder technique. Thumbs Up!

When you remove the pedal assist switch, how do you control the speed and direction of the motor? I am trying to make a unicycle with it.

Thanks!..My Radwagon recently shutdown with no signs of life. After several hours of freeing my entombed controller (completely engulfed in potting)..I couldnt figure out what the ittle board with the shrink tubing envolved. It looks EXACTLY like yours...but the rest of the controller looks nothig like the generic stuff. Anyway..just wanted to say thanks.

Can you do the same but in reverse? Can you take away the throttle and leave the pedal-assist? In NYC they take away your ebike if they find a throttle on it, but they would never notice its an ebike if its pedal-assist.

Hi I have a ZK2430-D-FS-ROHS E300 bicycle controller that has obviously fused/ shorted. I've checked all the connections to from controller. Good.
Any suggestions where to test with multimeter, you tube videos, parts to replace, etc. Thanks Robert

Does anyone know what happens to the speed and torque when i replace a 500W 36V Brushless motor controller (current off: 15A) with a 36V 250W Controller . The motor hub is 36V (capable of 500w and 30Km/h as written in the description). battery is 36V as well .

I've got the exact model of Ebike kit as you, however when i add my lipo battery, nothing happens (except spark) do i need to put it together and ride it before it switches on because of the PAS, the whole things confusing me, just soldered my XT60's on lipos and controller but i get no power, really confused !!!

Loon Can whats your lipo setup like? remember these have an high voltage cut off too, 10s lipo hot off the charger can be ex. 42V and when empty 37V. It might be that you have to charge your lipos to 3.9v cell voltage.

I got a question about the wiring for the pedal assist. Can the pedal assist cables at the controller be wired up to make a cruise control switch?

Q: what v battery do you recommend for 36v 500w kit?

    • @UrgenthelpwithSubscriptionsHel
      @UrgenthelpwithSubscriptionsHel Před 5 lety +1

36v 30Ah lithium ion. AH will give you the range. Also the battery life its longer. Because when you speeding, you discharging a peak power 50% of the battery, which keeps the battery much colder...not getting hot...
When you have a battery 36 20Ah and you discharging 700w, the working time its less than an hour. But when you discharge less amount from its initial amount of Amps, battery its safer.
Get a battery minimum 36v 30Ah or 40Ah. You will need litghtweight, a lithium, or using a solar panel on trailer and bring cables to give you like 40% back power and keep charging with sun when you use sealed lead acid.
Never keep low power in lead acid for more than 2 days. And never keep fully charged your lithium battery more than 1 week. The cells will force to expand inside and overvoltage will happen or even explosion in your house.
      Check the temperature.
Lithium must be keept at maximum 24°C if you want a good life.
There are many things to consider in your projects.
Many people don't care about it.

I bought an electric bike with pedal assist, Is there a way to disable the pedal assistance so that the bike fully relies on the the throttle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I like your Video!
    I bought a 36v controller with 36v hub motor.
I powered it with 36v lithium pack.
But the motor does not run.
When i did the same using a 48v controller and 48v battery pack, the motor runs.
I am puzzled. The motor rims says its rated at 36v. I can understand that a hub motor can be over-volted but not sure why the 36v controller does not work.
I suspect either the controller is faulty or the hub motor is actually rated for 48V .
How to test what voltage the motor is rated for despite the rating specified on the hub motor rims?
    Thank you.

Johnny Benson check your hall polarity, battery voltage (just in case of low voltage cut off), check you throttle polarity. if these are ok your controller is most likely faulty.

ofcourse there is, it may not be easy for everyone tho. you can track down the pedal assist sensor/board and eliminate it from the throttle/controller circuit. Or you can just buy a new controller offline and put it on.
