Was there any point in football history Tony Adams was a top 5 defender in Europe? can anybody name a year?
Top 5-10 around 94-96… early 90s the likes of Baresi, Maldini and Kohler were the best, around the middle of the decade though Adams, Sammer, Desailly, Blanc and Ferrara enjoyed great highs… by the end of the decade Nesta, Thuram, Stam and Cannavaro were all worldclass.
I didn't think he was the top 5. Probably top 10-20. Arsenal that period were renowned for their legendary back four, and not just Tony.
