Tony Adams was one of the greatest centrebacks in Premier League history. He was incredibly successful with Arsenal, both pre and post Arsene Wenger's arrival, and he did much of it as a functioning alcoholic. We take a look at the history of his impressive career.

Bring on the haters.... Spurs fan here- hated him for his goal in the 1993 semifinal- and took the piss out of him whenever- BUT - as a clinician in the NHS I fully respect his ability to drive through his alcoholism and survive. What a great man- I’ll do a deep dive into his book Addicted one day

Top player. Had everything. Strong, could read the game, nasty when he had to be, a goal threat, comfortable on the goal and a real leader. Arsenal haven't had anyone since him at the back.

HighburyAFCSoul fellow gooner here, think that’s difficult to say as a quarter of his career technically was not in what is now known as the Premier League. There are others who only played in the premier league with more accolades and trophies. They may be wankers, but they definitely have a claim.

For all the continental flare Wenger brought to Arsenal, his first decade of success there was made possible by the spine George Graham left for him at the back. And he never replaced them effectively.
Campbell, k toure, Lauren, a Cole. Not bad. Lehman was ok aswell, nothing spectacular but very reliable.
