    Cool mantis, It's so tiny! We live next to the woods, and I love making little terrariums with stuff I've gathered there and in our backyard, which I've finally convinced my housemate to allow to return to meadow instead of a conventional lawn.

    The footage off that mantis at the end is amazing best I've ever seen...when it snaps back into a twig shape like a bloody transformer lol....thank god their isn't huge mantis living on earth or else we would be in trouble lol...cheers

    Jesus you videos are so professional now. I recently catched water scorpions which are actually very similiar to mantis. I dont know if they are in your area but thery are so interesting creatures. When i catched it i feed it same incects which you tried to feed your mantis.

    Your mantis are freaking cool looking!! We have a recently hatched egg sac with way more nymphs than I can count. My 4 year old brought it inside and put it in a container before I realized what it was, two of the nymphs were eating fruit flies in our fruit bowl about 2 days or so after they’d hatched. It was really cool

    Wondering how this experiment went later on, as it's about eight to nine month ago that the video got uploaded. Knowing a bit about typical mantis lifecycles and -spans, there's no doubts these three tiny guys meanwhile are in mantis heaven. But also there's a good chance you were a good Dungeon Keeper, lil fellas made it to adulthood and now you are caring for their offspring. How did it go on ?

    • @HomemadeEcosystems
      @HomemadeEcosystems  Před rokem +1

      yes they are indeed in mantis heaven. They reached adulthood but they were 3 females so no offspring unfortunately

      @@HomemadeEcosystems my first pet insect about twenty-five years ago was a big fat green mantis of unknown species, seen her in a local terraristics store and immediately fell in love with that pocket predator. Gave her a nice enclosure and home, and obviously she felt comfy with my care, as she blessed me with her decision to teach me about the wonder of parthenogenesis. One day i spotted an ooth in her enclosure, two more the next day. Didn't expect that something could happen with these ooths as she NEVER met a male, but a couple weeks later i thought i've seen a moskito in that glass box... then two .. then three wtf ... 😳😮 .. long story bit shorter, dozends of supertiny Angelas (that was her name) hatched from those three ooths, and made me learn how to be a good mantis dad. Was a fun journey this lovely mantis teached me, and just the beginning of a lovely hobby for a couple years.
