A global pandemic occurred which decimated the globe, turning millions of humans into feral cannibalistic creatures know as zombies or as some call them Freakers. The remnants of humanity have abandoned towns to seek refuge in the wilderness creating safe zones.
When a virus causes a large portion of humanity to become uncontrollably crazy, Deacon, his wife Sarah, and his friend Boozer attempt to flee for safety. However, Sarah is stabbed and critically wounded, forcing Deacon to evacuate her on a National Emergency Restoration Organization (NERO) helicopter. However, since the helicopter does not have enough room carry all three of them, Deacon decides to stay behind with Boozer while promising Sarah he will reunite with her later.

The stuff in nests is residue you can craft residue arrows & make freakers go crazy & attack each other. This also works on humans the same way. Can lead to hilarious situations. Something you aren’t doing much of it taking out ambush camps. You get crafting recipes when you take out the camp & check out the bunker. You could be using more things like smoke bombs, etc. You missed a bunch of goodies in Sherman’s Camp. Explore it again sometime, climb up red ladders to the roof, for example. There are also smoke bombs behind a second story sign near the two story nest area - it’s one building over. Lol you’re killing me here! I can’t believe you stopped that mission mid-stream. ...yes, thats a pretty good mission, its getting better in the story, not lengthy compared to later ones, but a good one. I honestly think I've only slept maybe 3 times in the game if I wanted to wait out time and resources to respawn, otherwise I just keep Deek going. As you finish missions and clear camps out, you will have better rewards, crafting and weapons etc. Good play!

Im only here to say, as a Day 1 PS4 player- with all the launch bugs and what not, this game is fucking amazing!!!! One of the best ive ever played. The big open world, beautiful scenery, amazing soundtrack, excellent story and scary as shit hordes. Loved it soo much, i beat it back to back and never got bored once. Was bloody criminal it got review bombed and killed any chance of a sequel.
