There are no best starting character just what general play style your best with other then the characters attributes and innate skills all skills you your character will get as they level up and explore are available to all character and all play style are basically visible but do to the attributes and innate skills there are still noticeable differences and some play style are more better with same characters than other
For bruno he got the best crits do to heaving the highest critical damage stat and got the second highest agility but the lowest max hp so he better with a more dodging than blocking with that this skill back stab you may want to consider circling around strong enemies when possible and hitting them from behind
