- Reveal New Zealand Ep.08 - The road trip continues from Rotorua to Taupo, but before that, it's Zorb time! Zorb Rotorua is a must do and world famous in New Zealand, we're going water zorbing because... Check out the Zorb here - geni.us/zorb ⬇ More Below ⬇
Rotorua has definitely kept us busy the past few days (or longer) with so many things to do, you don't become a tourist highlight of New Zealand for no reason! Today we leave Rotorua for Taupo, but before we get this vanlife campervan road trip back in action we have to tick of one last thing, the Zorb.
Zorb Rotorua is essentially a massive bubble, a water ball on occasions. It's not aqua zorbing or water zorbing, it's downhill ball rolling we've been told. Regardless what you call it, it's bloody fun! The Zorb ball is a massive air filled ball that you jump inside and roll down hills - it was invented in New Zealand and is based in Rotorua. You can do it dry or with water, we picked the aqua approach so it would be a little less bumpy for my back and we've got no regrets, it was hilarious and awesome.
Klook set us up with Zorb for this trip and you can check out the various pricing options on their site here - geni.us/zorb
After we Zorb it's time to hit the road again, leaving Rotorua we made our way for Taupo... home for a few nights and the next place to feature in the following vlog in this series.

Loving them! Can’t wait for the South Island vlogs ☺️
OMG I've lived in Rotorua for 10 years so this weekend my moko and I are doing the walk in the trees, Zorb plus I've got to have a spa lol
Can we take a moment to also appreciate another natural wonder of NZ...Dane's abs.
Yaaaassss! I appreciate them everyday 😂 - Stacey
Loooks so muchhhh fun going down the hill 😱
Beautiful country even in the cold
Zorb looks such a cool experiences.
Love to see your video... Keep posting & inspire us..
Yes... They are inspiring...
Enjoyed the video guys gave me a smile 😊 and enjoyed seeing the ball roll down the hill
Cool and crazy Zorba... Awesome 😊
SO crazy! Didn't even know which way was up by the time we reached the bottom!
Those Zorb balls were hilarious! I've seen similar ones rolling on water at a resort here in UK. The kids absolutely loved them but it took a load of frantic hamster wheel style running to get them to move 😂
That's the crazy thing about it, they must be REALLY hard to get going anywhere? Serious hamster running surely? Especially if it's in water haha
Thanks to you guys, now zorbing is on my bucket list. I did a research and there is one in Poland. So when this "thing" Covid19 over I'm going to Poland again with my bf (who is half Polish) and we would definitely do that activity.
Awesome! We LOVED Poland, such a cool place - hope you guys can get there soon
It just looks amazing 🥰 x
Cool🤙 I have seen this for the first time last year in summer in Croatia on the water. Didn't try it but the guys had fun and it was fun watching 😂
Great photography from inside the ball. You are pros!
Too kind! Thank you, not easy to film when you have no idea which way is up 😂
The Zorb looks like SO much fun!! I would love to do this. So glad you guys did it and included it in the vlog. Plus some bonus hot tub time for you!
Laughed very hard at Daneger's winking at the camera over emptying the tanks! Loved his silliness coming out in this vlog!
Hot tub number 34342873467 for this trip 😂
@@DanegerAndStacey 😏 you two would really enjoy Iceland
Awesome as my Kiwis!!!!
Aww thanks mate! Appreciate the aroha!
Hey Team! We are actually doing the same thing around all of NZ for the first time ourselves! Your videos are great and are very detailed! Our vids are more of a smaller montage documentary type of thing from hikes and places we go! Keep up the great stuff! Maybe come say hey!
Loving the series guys 🙏❤️❤️🌿
Its awesome,but it's cold.You are my heroes🤪😍👍🤘
We can't lie to ya... it was FREEZING!
For two people who haven't had a shower in your campervan, you two look unbelievably refreshed haha
P.S. yes, I am living vicariously through you guys right now. #covid-19
HAHA thanks! Glad you're living through us, hope you're enjoying your trip!
I love zorbing!! The sidewinder was my favourite by far 😃 I'm loving your travels so far guys, it makes me miss NZ. Keep up the great work!
The sidewinder was scarier than I thought it would be! Probably didn't help that the water was washing around my contact lenses so I couldnt see 😂
Love your videos :) you guys are such easy going people and loving how you are showing off our beautiful country!
Thanks Ange! Not hard to make this country look good, we're so lucky to call it home!
I’m an Aussie and I’ve been lucky enough to be to a fair few of the places you have been to in NZ so far - but you guys are doing an amazing job at accurately depicting it! LOVING these Vlogs! Safe travels! :)
That's awesome you've been able to experience a lot of the places we've been to so far! Thank you, that's so nice of you to say:)
Yous are both glowing, rejuvenated and refreshed 😍 love watching you guys explore our backyard, amazing keep it up guys
Couldnt have put it better ourselves, that exactly how we feel! So happy you're enjoying the adventure 😁
That ZORB ride looked soo much fun! Another thing for my bucket list 😍 you guys keep coming with amazing things to definitely do/see😂😍.
Also those edits are literally amazing done!
Definitely keep up the good work guys! Love the series❤️
What a nice comment, thank you so much! ❤️ We really appreciate you watching and commenting!
Great Episode guys. Well done
Thank you!
I’m so loving this series - you really are ‘doing’ our holiday from last year. (Well, not the zorbing...you wouldn’t get me anywhere near that!) We stayed on that site in Taupo (just before it became a Top 10 site). It was one of our favourites. I agree about the showers, we used site facilities rather than the van. I loved Taupo.
Oh no way! Your holiday from last year must've been epic! You're definitely going to have to come back and try the Zorb 😋
I'm so glad you both enjoyed the Zorb experience! I would've felt so sad for y'all if it ended up being a bad memory. Stay warm, friends!
It was definitely a little scary for me (stacey) but glad we did it! Brrr it was FREEZING though!!
Oh my god, I am so jealous. I always wanted to do zorbing. Though I am scared of vomiting from all the rolling 😂😂
Haha its definitely hard to tell which way is up while you're in there 😂
When daneger was relaxed in the zorb but Stacey was like OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. 🥰🥰🥰
😂😂😂 Literally sums us up perfectly. I'm freaking out while Danes having the time of his life!
I really enjoy your content
Aww thank you!
Iam sure it feels very cozy coming home to Ashton after a day of fun !!!!
So cozy, we love it!
Omg the zorbing! It looked pretty awesome and now I’m waiting to see if you do anything else as exciting! Ok and the sneak preview of the falls!!! I’m excited to see that! We have something close to where I live called a high force waterfall and I’m honestly so excited to visit it this weekend and I’m just as excited for the falls video! :)
This is just the start, we do so much exciting stuff in the upcoming vlogs! Just posted the new video with the falls!
I so enjoy watching your videos, high quality and great content! The places you visit tick all the boxes of places I would love to visit! Have you 2 ever thought of organizing a group tour? Also I get so nervous for you Danger! I broke my back in 2 places in 2009 and it is still not right, I can not get over you in that zorb ball while your back is in that condition! Please be safe and I can't wait for the next video!!!! 😊🌏
Thank you! We haven't really considered the group tour thing too seriously but it would be awesome! Eek sorry to hear about your back, that sucks. Promise he's being careful!
I just love your Videos! More of New Zealand Please
LOADS more goodness to come! Just posted a new video :)
That looks like so much fun!
So fun!
Great video 😂😂😂 all the camper video i seen the faces when they have to empty “those Tanks “ 🤣🤣🤣
Of course Aston much more modern campervan than some i seen ,so the old fashion version of empty the toilet !!
Hows your back Danger after going Down hill in those Roller ball? Are you bruised ?
Take care .
Ohh the tanks arent fun 😂 but ours is definitely better that a lot of others we've seen. His back was all good after the zorb, it's quite squishy and the water helps you slide around.
this was my fave video for a while (love them all though)... the zorbing looked like amazing fun.
That's awesome to hear! It was a lot of fun!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Your recent videos of Rotorua have convinced me to do all these activities next week with my wife! I won't be driving around a campervan though, just personal car since accommodation booked! But may consider going around NZ next time using campervan :)
That sounds awesome, hope you and your wife have the BEST time! Safe travels 😁
WOW! One day i will do Zorb too! ♥
You'll love it!
@@DanegerAndStacey if i find it, so far the nearest is in the states....and it is kinda very expensive for me...this days...
What fun! I laughed when for a second it showed Dane relaxing in the Zorb as it was going. LOL. Very good and important that you went to a place that is flat at the bottom. I saw a terrifying video of a Zorbing accident in Russia, where people were doing it on a section of a mountain. But the Zorb went off track and bounced over a cliff. I'd rather do it at a place like where you went to - flat at the bottom and no cliffs!
Haha he was just chilling, meanwhile I'm trying not to freak out 😂 Note to self: don't go in a Zorb in Russia, that sounds terrifying!
@@DanegerAndStacey Don't go to Russia. That statement has such a different connotation now...so saddening !!
Coming out with the water it looks like you were both re-born LOL
😂It looks so bad doesn't it hahaha
omg i loved that it was so cool
Was sooo much fun!
What fantastic adventures you are having! And with a broken back! Wow! Please be careful 🤦🏼♀️🇬🇧
😂 Dane is going to get into more and more trouble as the series unfolds...
Zorb looks waay too cold! Looking forward to seeing Huka Falls in the next episode.
It was FREEZING! So glad they had the hot tubs at the bottom!
Here in Los Angeles it's still BLAZING hot during the day, so this looks very fun XD
Would be super refreshing on a hot day!
Love that drive from Rotorua to Taupo, the back road through Atiamuri is better though, long as straights.
Those straight roads almost put me to sleep 😂
@@DanegerAndStacey Haha, remember to stop and change drivers.😊
I've always been put off zorbing as I had a misconception of what happened inside them - I assumed you went upside down 🤣 and have assumed this for too many years. Nice to see that you don't! Curious to know, are you guys still on the road and editing/uploading as you go, or have you finished the trip and editing and posting afterwards?
That's probably a common misconception! We have finished up the trip and posting afterwards (although its not been long since we've been home) was way too hard while we were on the road with internet etc
hi5 to u Dane...T
ur back got smashed by the zorbbing and ur still able to power on!.. #Mantis...
Haha nothing will ever stop this guy, not even a broken back 😅
Love the series :) Curious how you've been managing doing laundry during the trip.
We have just been using the campground facilities - price varies from place to place but we just bring our own laundry powder :)
I was really hoping that you would try these, they look like so much fun! When are you going bungee jumping? :D
Haha not sure we're ready to make the leap from zorb to bungee juuuuuust yet 😂
Maybe when Dane's back is healed, then there's no worries!
still looking good - the Maccas in Taupo has never been open when I've been there - closed for some reason...
Oh annoying! It does have specific opening times, we just got lucky!
I think you guys were in front of my school the other day I live in rotorua love to meet you guys
No wayyyy!! Next time you see us, come say hi 😁
I'm enjoying your videos but sadly, by the time you show your travels to the lower South Island we will be there or finished! (we leave on 8th October) I was so hoping to get some ideas from you. Never mind -- we will make our own memories and enjoy your travels as well :)
Ohhh that's bad timing! Have you been following our IG stories? They're well ahead of the vlogs. Hope you have the best trip, safe travels!
@@DanegerAndStacey I will go and look now!! Thanks :)
I couldn't get to Thailand so I am going to Mexico instead... you should try cabo San Lucas.
Cool! Have a great trip!
I don’t know why but I thought I’d never want to do a zorb because for some reason I thought I’d drown in it 😂 but it looks pretty safe, maybe I’ll try it after all
😂😂😂 There are definitely moments where it feels a little drowny - but it's still a lot of fun! Definitely give it a go!
😍😍
Looks like a hamster ball lol
I wish the episodes were a bit longer haha :)
Aww that's so nice to hear, we might be able to arrange some longer episodes just for you in the future!
Hey guys! I realize you are well past Taupo and I was thinking at the time you did the video I'm pretty sure there is a bit more to do in Taupo but I couldn't think of it at the time.Anyway,I remembered that there is this..www.lovetaupo.com/en/see-do/art-culture/mine-bay-maori-rock-carvings/ weather was probably a bit shit for you to get out on the water while you were there.
I' m not sure if the bubble looks fun or not. Lol guess it will never matter as I'd get stuck in the hole 🤭-Shawna🍁
😂😂 I almost didn't make it through either - you'll notice I grabbed my swimsuit pretty quickly because the whole thing fell down. Probably not the best idea to wear a one shoulder swimsuit while doing something extreme!
New Zealanders invent the weirdest shit 😂 bungy jumping, zorbing, we're such a strange bunch
I noticed no one is wearing masks nor social distancing at every place you’re going. Is it different in New Zealand?
Pretty sure when they did the trip NZ had no active cases (other than ones in quarantine) Masks were only mandatory for when the country was at level 2 for public transport and when social distancing was difficult.
they've pretty much eradicated Covid in New Zealand. life is back to normal
@@eattravelraverepeat3791 Life definitely isn't back to normal just yet - we're currently at level 2 in Auckland but we don't have too many active cases thankfully :)
@@suzi2084 You're right! The whole country was at level 1 with no active cases outside of managed isolation at the border. We got back to Auckland about a week after they went into level 3 lockdown :)
We were at level 1 with no active cases outside of managed isolation at the border :) So there was no need for social distancing or masks.
Do you guys ever check your Instagram messages? 😁😉
We do indeed, although messages do tend to get lost in the tsunami of reactions that come through so if we haven't replied that's probably why - hang tight and we will get to yours eventually!
I love watching your guys’ videos, such a chill and lovely couple. However, I am really disappointed at the lack of effort regarding the pronunciation of Māori place names. I think if you tried to use the correct pronunciation (even if it’s not perfect), it would encourage other Kiwis to give it a go and educate your international viewers at the same time. Not to mention, it would mean a lot to your Māori viewers (of which I am one).
If you only knew how long we spent fretting trying to get the Taupo pronunciation right for the intro (which we can record after the fact with more consideration, and I think Stace did great) you probably wouldn't leave this comment... the others are filmed in the moment and roll off the tongue the same way they have for the past 30 years sadly. We're aware, and willing to give it a crack, but can't fix stuff we already filmed unfortunately :(
I did notice the intro and the pronunciation was perfect, thank you for making the effort.
