Some years ago the Clay county Sheriffs department drove out to my dads property. My dad knew the young officer as he often stopped in at the BBQ restaurant my dad owned. The officer said he had a particularly dangerous criminal in the back of the squad car and wanted to know if my dad would look to see if he recognized him. As my dad approached the cruiser he noticed that whom ever was in the back seat must have been laying down. Curious he thought as he walked closer to the car, finally the deputy opened the the door and my dad started laughing out loud. In the back seat of the car was a young male hog in two sets of handcuffs. That desperado of a hog lived on our farm for 14 years, on the lam so to speak from justice.
I am going to assume that the person who gave this a thumbs down was born without a sense of humor 'cause this is funny. A wonderful way to start the day!

The strangest creature I've ever seen was in India and we were overtaken by a rickety old truck with an elephant in the back. It could of just stepped over the edge it wasn't even tied in. I said to my travellers, did you see that! They said yeah their taking it to a retreat...they do it each year so they can see other elephants. 🐘🐘🐘

One late night I was driving home from up state Pennsylvania to our home in Bucks County. It was at least a two hour drive. I was in a 1949 Dodge sedan. They look like an upside down bathtub painted black. This was in 1970 and a 1949 car was an unusual sight. We went to my friend’s uncle to pick up a calf. So we got off the Pennsylvania Turnpike, in Quakertown. As we approached the toll collector booth. All the windows we down because of the smell. The calf put her head out of this big Dodge sedan and let out a HUGE moooo. In a split second the toll collector disappeared. My friend got out and went to the other side of the toll booth. The teller was scrunched up on the floor passed out. We banged on the door to wake him up. He stood up and said many foul words to us. We payed our toll and left.
This was priceless! Makes me think back... When I was growing up, we moved a lot, and sometimes there would be a beloved pet cat that had to move to. Well, cats don't like being in moving vehicles, and we didn't have a carrier... So we tied them up in pillow cases. It worked, but usually by the time we got to our destination, the pillowcase was useless! 😁😆 Also reminds me of the time Dad hit a deer in the station wagon. Deer died instantly, so we just picked it up, threw it in the back, and took it to a friend to process it for us. That's was where I learned how bad a deer stinks, especially in an enclosed vehicle!
I clicked on this because of "Cowpens." My father grew up in Gaffney, SC, a small town not far from Cowpens. His running joke was that they would go to Cowpens for fun (Cowpens is even smaller than Gaffney). A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of working at Ft Jackson, which gave me the opportunity to visit Cowpens; I not only wanted to see what the town was really like (don't blink or you'll miss it, though it is a very nice town) and to see the National Battleground. If you're a Revolutionary War buff, I highly recommend the site. I was very impressed and learned a tremendous amount there.
I love the name.There were Dairy Farms all over Torrance ,California at one time until some jerks began clamoring that flies were " everywhere" Now we have people throwing trash every and flies.I'd prefer more cows .

Loved how she didn’t cut the meet and greet short either, allowing everyone their time to talk to her. Was only bummed that LB stayed home to watch college basketball, of course, but I would have loved to meet him.
Years ago I brought a goat in a car to the veterinarian -- but i wasn't the one driving. Goat was an adult female and it seemed relatively calm. ☺ ... as i recall....
