Rosberg beat two 7-time WDCs in equal machinery. People need to put some more respect on his name.
Michael was over 40 and way past his peak. And Lewis was incredibly unlucky in 2016.
And George is better than Nico.
@@gameofender4463 bro is watching f1 since abu dhabi 21
"George is better than Nico"
What? Nico beat Lewis in his prime. He fought hard in 2014 and 16 against him. George is lucky that Lewis' early season struggle in 2022 was what won him the teammate battle. I'm no Lewis fan by any metric but even that is a shit take
@@gameofender4463 Micheal wasn’t the prime Micheal we saw from 1994-2004
But he was still operating on a high level.
And again, we are talking two undeniable goats. And Rosberg gave a nearly prime Hamilton a run for his money in 3/4 seasons together.
@@-socialcredit Even after Lewis stopped struggling George was still relatively equally matched.
And just look at how 2023 has started.
I think you are discrediting George, especially because we know Lewis is still driving near his peak.
Rosberg won 8 in a row over Lewis once he wrapped up the 2015 championship, he didnt just stumble into the 2016 championship. Lewis *may* have caught him without the last engine failure, but Rosberg built that points gap all by himself by out qualifying and out racing him. He brought it down to the wire in 2014 and had his own reliability issues that may have cost him the championship. Nico is the only guy who beat the 2 confirmed GOATS head to head and nobody gives him an ounce of credit.
Exactly, Nico had his own share of Engine failures which costed his championship in earlier years but we are talking about British media and their fking bias so it all falls on deaf ears
he retired too early to build a legacy
@@outcast12345 the last race of 2016 took it out of him. They both had multi year contracts and having a teammate that was willing to throw him to the wolves, he couldnt go through with that again.
Take away the problem for both in 2016 why did he win was the coward was just luck in 2016
Mercedes Schumacher weren’t even close to championship material and stating Rosberg beat the GOAT is ridiculous to say the least. Rosberg even said it himself he had to see psychiatrist almost daily to help him cope with his title challenge on Hamilton, meanwhile Hamilton was partying and living his life. He has the talent to challenge Hamilton, he sure as hell can’t sustain it for long. Rosberg’s a bit above Ricciardo’s level, but not even close to Vettel, Hamilton or Alonso’s level.
Checo being a championship contender was the April Fools Joke, and the quali crash was the punchline.
Lmao

Damn son😂
Checo being the Rosberg here is very disrespectful to nico’s ability
I appreciate this sort of clarification. The press try to gas up this "title fight" knowing well that they are not in the same league. People's hype goes up but when they wake up and see Max winning, they start getting angry and making nonsensical claims.
They try to save the season and to attract as many viewers as possible. Nothing more and nothing less. At the end of the day it is all about the money.
This is Checo's last year with Red Bull, right?
@@user-el3gn5yl2w Nobody knows. Where would he have to go to?
Absolutely. As a Latino myself I hate how much hype other Latinos are putting on Checo, and how vitriolic they can get over it. There's no discussion: Max is unbeatable at the moment. And if he is getting a challenge down the road, it will most certainly not be Perez who fights him. No disrespect to him, but he is quite simply not as good as Max.
I genuinely like Checo. I'm certain that in any other racing discipline, he would be the favorite for a championship. But the simple fact is that Max is some sort of mutant or a space alien or something. He is just on another level. Seriously, there are only two drivers alive who currently have what it would take to jump into Max's car and put down Max lap times. Playing second fiddle to a guy like that is no insult. What else can you do?
Two? Between Russel LeClerc Hammilton and Alonso who are the 2 in your opinion? Gotto say that Russel seems to dominate Ham last year and at the moment
@Abb0able Alonso is a legend due to race pace, not quali. He is strategic, but can only do 99% of what Max can do in one lap. Hamilton has fallen off. Losing #8 killed something in him. Maybe it awoke something else, but he is being beaten by George in a second season. Something is missing.
@@sheldoniusRex hamilton still looks the same, seems like he sets up for the race which i noticed in qualifying he was consistently getting the tow from GR. the only thing he's struggling with atm is how the car is made itself, can't get a good feel when it just isn't setup in a way you like it or can manipulate it to how you like it. he's also ahead in points atm.
@@Abb0able the two are Leclerc and Norris.
@@Abb0able didn’t dominate only beat him in points. Lewis 13 to Russell’s 9 in qualifying. And Lewis was faster in race pace.
Spot on. I can see why ppl, and especially Checo fans, want that idea Nico/Lewis possibility.
But reality cannot be ignored.
He is AT BEST the Webber to Max's Vettel. WEB never got 2nd in the championship, but at least he had the 2010 challenge. Have yet to see that from Checo.
Webber was in an era where 4 people were competing.
Webber was in front of Seb in 2010 before Abu Dhabi, but RB used him and give the champ to Seb.
@@pooledogg775 He didn't even manage to get second place in the standings, while driving a car that Vettel won 9 in a row in
@@liasdragon9279 he was leading the championship on the last race of the season
@@kolour7611 they didn't really "give" the 2010 champ to Seb in AD. Sure he was the team's chosen favorite (British front wing incident) but that's because he was the better driver. Everyone thought back then that Seb would get used to help out Webber's strategy, but he took the pole and win that day so was too far ahead and did all he needed to do to win that day.
Max just has that extra bit of talent that few other drivers can match on even their best day
Nah it's not about Max even though he is an excellent driver. It's about Perez. He's not particularly fast by F1 standards. Rosberg was very fast. Perez is a solid pair of hands and a guy who is pretty strong on Sundays but on raw pace he can't challenge Max and that's how Red Bull like it. Mercedes basically try to put the fastest guy they can get into the car.
Half the field has extra talent over checo
It’s not just talent, they all have talent. It’s ruthlessness, and aggression. The best will do whatever they need to do to win. That’s what made so many in the past so great.
@@ghettomist1575 True that
It's not talent, it's hard work. He's on the sim 24/7.
Thank you.
I think the truth is this:
1. Perez is nowhere near as good as rosberg, who was a truly great driver.
2. Max is absolutely incredible
Even Webber was significantly better than Perez imo.
If Max is absolutely incredible, doesn't that mean that you're classing him better than Hamilton, and therefor suggesting that Rosberg was not, or just as good as say, Perez?
Confusing for you i know.
I see this more as a Rosberg Hamilton 2014-15 replay, bc Rosberg was never able to catch Hamilton, but in 2014 somehow he had a chance at the title at the first few races
@@AndrewYac 14 he took it to the last race
@@bobkiller4835 only thanks to the double-points that bernie invented lol
I agree with the first and second point, but not the third. Before F1 had Pirelli tyres, granted Webber might have been 'significantly better' than Perez and maybe Webber is the much better qualifier. But when Pirelli tyres were introduced in F1, Webber struggled. There were races when Webber was 30+ seconds behind Vettel. I find Perez more consistent than Webber, as Perez always finishes within a reasonable gap to Verstappen. So overall, I would say Webber is better, but not significantly better. But I can understand where you're coming from.
Ironic after Checo’s shocker
Serio Perez Wins with RedBull
1. 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
- Verstappen leading the race by a significan margin, on lap 43, suffers a left-rear tyre failure on the main straight causing him to spin and crash into the barriers.
2. 2022 Monaco Grand Prix
- In the third and final segment of qualifing, Sergio Pérez spun and crashed before the tunnel section, and was then hit by Carlos Sainz Jr., who saw the yellow flags, ending the qualifying session with Max on a pole lap at the time.
3. 2022 Singapore Grand Prix
- Max Verstappen was in contention for pole position, but had to abandon his final lap after running short of fuel, leading to him qualifying eighth. Difficult track to pass which also included rain.
4. 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
- Max Verstappen with a significant pace advantage during practice and qualifying over Perez. During the second segment Verstappen's car suddenly slowed down while trying to set his first fast lap. Identified as a driveshaft failure, forced to start 15th.
I’m glad Checo is finally in a car that can give him some race wins! Much deserved after 10 years of midfield success. However, Max is on another level, the guy only made 2-3 mistakes the entire year last year! Really hope Checo can get to that level one day, but I just don’t see him being a Nico Rosberg kind of character, and that’s ok! Love seeing him do well in the sport 👍🏻
Aldas waited for Checo to drop a stinker to drop this lmao
Come to think of it, even Checo's first win at Sakhir 2020 came on a weekend where Max had issues, being taken off by Leclerc in Lap 1 (also the whole Mercedes pit stop blunder with Russell and Bottas played into his hands).
Well that’s different. The (cheating) Racing Point car was rapid, and faster than the RB.
@@user-eh1gc7xo7q not at all
@@user-eh1gc7xo7q Definitely a good car and comfortably the third best that season, but not better than the RB. Not by a longshot.
And my point still stands, if Russell, Bottas and Verstappen have had normal races, Checo wouldn't even have made the podium, let alone winning the race.
Another great analysis, as usual.
I am a die-hard Hamilton fan, but the truth is that Max has been an absolute undertaker for each of his former teammates over his career, except maybe Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo (the latter suffered more from lack of reliability than from Max's performances back then).
I guess that this speaks volumes of how good Max really is, and it also underlines that Perez is doing a much better job than Gasly or Albon were able to do.
Now, we all have to keep in mind that during Gasly and Albon tenure at Red Bull, Mercedes had the best car whilst with Perez Red Bull is now at the front of the grid, so we will never be able to make a truly unbiased comparison between Perez and Max's former teammates.
As for the comparison between Perez and Rosberg or Bottas, that is another extremely hard assessment to make especially in the case of Rosberg because we tend to be a little biased due to the fact that he won the WC in 2016 and then retired, so that sequence of events kind of overshadows the fact that he could not keep up with Hamilton (with small exceptions here and there) in both 2014 and 2015 when Mercedes had the best car.
As for Bottas, I think that is more of a moot point because over his tenure at Mercedes he was never able to challenge Hamilton (even though the press tried to overplay his chances, especially after his win in Australia 2019), despite having sat in top-end machinery in each of those years.
To be completely honest, and I admit that I may have to bite my words in the near future, I can't see how Perez can keep up with Max over the course of a season, and in that sense I see it as a Hamilton-Rosberg replay in both 2014 and 2015.
I hate to say it because I don't like Max, but he is THAT good. Period. And if Red Bull continues to give him the best car on the grid until the end of 2028 when his contract runs out, the record books are very likely to be completely rewritten by then.
As Max says, "it is what it is".
Well said
Agree, but there's an elephant in the room that even a die-hard but reasonable Hamilton fan would agree with it being right there. Max is head and shoulders above any other driver in the last 20 years. And I absolutely HATE Max.
But the odds of Max losing a WDC to Rosberg or struggling against Button are 0. The odds of a Ricciardo murdering peak defending champion Max are 0. The odds of a Trulli outqualifying Max in a regular basis and having a close fight with him in the WDC are 0.
Those guys I am talking about, arguably the best drivers since Schumi hung up his gloves, have those shadows over their careers at their respective peaks. Max would never have allowed any of the above to happen. And we all know this, even if we dislike Max for being a brat and a terrible teammate.
Wish all LH fans were as knowledgeable as this
@@jesusfernandez7897 I strongly disagree. For two simple reasons. 1) Max never has had a WDC calibre teammate and therefore has not truly proven himself under a inter-team pressure and rivalry, and 2) Max has driven dirty far too much to be considered "head and shoulders above any other driver in the last 20 years." That is a gross overrating of Max for zero regard for Schumacher, Vettel, Alonso, and of course Hamilton- who is factually the greatest of all time.
(Hell, you claiming Rosberg wouldn't beat Verstappen is nonsensical.)

Your perspective is as valid as mine or as any other F1 fan.
As a fan who keeps up with F1 behind a computer screen (as most of us are), I regard Lewis, Fernando and Max as roughly equal at the top of the F1 food chain, and they are head and shoulders above all their competitors over the years, including Sebastian and excluding Michael.
If it is somehow possible rank the three of them in any particular order, I am not qualified to make a proper judgment on that because that would take going through tiny details that only F1 insiders are able to get access to, such as telemetry.
Someone had to say. Thank you finally. I love checo but the guy wins one race and all the sore Hamilton fans see him as a hero and (ironically) suddenly want a new Rosberg. He is a good driver but can't touch Max over a full season.

Chéco has always been one of the most overrated driver!
I remember when he got podiums with FI that people were saying 'he deserve a top team drive and would be a championship contender', just shows you people understand nothing about F1, especially the fundamental differences between a good driver and great driver!
On top of this, he never particularly shined against his teammates neither, Kobayashi out-scored him during their 2 years together at Sauber, Button out-classed him in terms of race-craft (even though they were matched), Hulkenberg (mid-tier driver) was extremely close to him, a rookie Ocon matched him, then out-paced him in 2018.
Comparing this to Rosberg-Hamilton is just laughable, Nico was a top tier driver.
impeccable timing on this video
Perez - Verstappen skill deficit is far larger than the Hamilton - Rosberg one.
Max maintaining his current form for a few more years would put him into a clear favorite for GOAT status and that's nearly impossible to match.
„Or even Russel“ when naming the potential challengers is not fair. He beat Hamilton last year and there is no reason to assume he is dropping of. Hamilton and Russel are nearly om the exact same level and i would love a title fight between these two. Way closer than Perez and Verstappen

If u see how much commitment on and off track Rosberg had to do just for Hamilton to have a reliability issue to help Rosberg win the championship. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but Checo basically has to commit to F1 99.99%
It‘s pretty easy actually. Rosberg was way better than Perez ever will be and Max is also better than Hamilton ever was. There is no title fight between the 2. It‘s comical to even think about it.
Three drivers for being the best overrated e.g., Schumacher, Vettel, and Max have in commons:
1. Perceived by many as the GOATes when their team dominated the Sport (F1).
2. Never have a top 3 drivers as teammates while they dominated the oppositions and their teammates.

Checo is very good. He was able to win a race in a Racingpoint car. The reason it is not a Hamilton/Rosberg fight is because the difference between him and his teammate is too big. Maybe it's not that Checo isn't good enough, but because Max is just more exceptional. Just look at Lewis. He was often beaten by his teammate in a race. During a season he always has a view races that aren't that great. Max performs consistently. The only reason you can beat him is if something happens to Max.
Fair, but we do have to take cars into consideration. The Mercedes was always on rails during their domination. This obviously makes a car easier to drive, reducing the impact that drivers skill has. Max’s driving and setup style is extreme, making it very difficult for basically any teammate to adapt.
Honestly the only driver who could handle a car with a Max setup today would probably be Alonso, but I think young Lewis could’ve done the same.
@MCHouseboat the only reason Max car setup was that extreem was to get the ultimate performance out of it. I agree with you that the only ones who could do that too are Alonso and a young Lewis. I doubt Max likes his car hard to drive, he just prefers speed over easy driving
He won that race when Mercedes took both of his cars out, Leclerc crashed and took Verstappen with him, and Hamilton had covid lol

THIS! I’ve been calling people out for saying things like this, the disrespect to Rosberg is insane. Rosberg is a formula one world champion who beat Hamilton & Schumacher on pure pace many, many times. Checo has never even beaten Max on equal terms once in their 2 and a bit years together. Embarrassing comparison. He’s not even quite on the level of Bottas, although currently I rate Max higher than Hamilton 2017-21
calling some teammate rivalry the new Hamilton vs Rosberg is also simply just stupid because what made that rivalry as intense as it was is that they practically grew up together, were best friends but they both wanted to win so badly that they fell out
And yet Checo doing the complete opposite in Australia.. He's the furthest driver from pole and his chance to win is astronomically small
100% truth here. Ricciardo pushed Max pretty well and beat him fair and square many times which Perez will never do.
The thing is that anyone currently on the grid would be in the same situation as checo in his place. May it would be a bit closer but max will outrace any good driver.
Aldas says that Checo has never beaten Max legitimately yet, (which I agree with), but then he also says that 'Checo is driving better than ever before'. That sounds like overly positive fence-sitting to me. Call Checo out and say that he hasn't been driving that well and could easily be over the hill now like Daniel Ricciardo is. That would fit better and more likely be correct considering Checo can't ever get close to Max, not even sporadically like say, Barichello could with Schumacher, and Rosberg could with Hamilton etc.
Essentially Aldas seems unwilling to say anything controversial and that implies a certain bias in his videos to me, rather than just being neutral and trying to call things as he truly sees them.
Let's be honest here, if Perez was Nico, then RedBull would have kicked him out 🤣

If you look at the numbers there is no other conclusion possible. Max isn't showing any signs that his performance is any less. And Sergio is performing good. I mean that it is working even better for him as it did for Gasly and Albon, and Sergio deserves all the credits for that. But he has not shown yet, neither during the quali or the race, that he has been able to outperform Max in a direct battle. So there is no factual bases for the assumption that Sergio has a real chance for the championship, assuming that both drivers stay out of mechanical trouble. With Sergio I do not see the exceptional increase in performance that would be needed to beat Max. The numbers are just not showing it.

Checo is from Mexico, so is the closest to home for me, hope the best for him.
Jesus Christ this video might go down as one of the biggest jinxes in f1 history with what happened to checo in quali.
If Checo stays comfortable with the car. It will only take a few DNF’s by Max. I expect Checo to pick up most of the P2’s.
I'd say maybe Leclerc, Russell, and Norris can give Max a run for his money driving the same car.
Not even Hamilton or Alonso can do it at this point.
Alonso is clear of Norris though
Rookie Hamilton will enough to beat Max. No need to send SLH.
Nothing will match the Rosberg Hamilton rivalry. So much history between the 2 even before F1
Norris at RedBull next year ?? :P
Checo is more like Botas the Rosberg, some races can be super fast, but fails to be consistent, Nico made sure he was always in 2nd on Lewis good days to then pounce when reliability hit Lewis
Like he is not going to challange Max no but to say he's not Botas level is wild, not sure if you are hating on checo unfairly, or rocking a rose colours mullet.
Its what some of the F1 fans do, last year at the start of the season the same people had already declared Leclerc champion pretty much. Making fan cam videos of him comparing him to schumacher, vettel...
Or if someone has 1 bad race, they start speaking of how its the end of "said drivers" career.
Its incredibly annoying
my problem isn't that checo isn't rosberg but the constant narrative that checo should never try to beat verstappen what is he suppose to do? and why do you not treat him like bottas?
Perez is exactly what RB want and need. A great driver who pushed in qualifying, is steady in the race and picks up the odd win. You put Alonso, Hamilton, Russell, Sainz, Norris even Ricciardo now in the seat you have a different story.
Fair points you made
I remember watching this after baku 2023 and thinking it was really harsh, but since then checo really has proved his point
Me thinks it speaks volumes that people are saying the championship is over now that Checo is last on the grid while Max is on pole. When the reserve happens, that championship fight is still on.
No mate, just no.
Chéco has beaten Max in qualifying 4 or 5 times in 2 seasons and never matched his race pace.
He made this video before it happened.
Also people have been saying this since 2021.
Did this really need a video? Rosberg was a very fast Alpha driver and deserved to be a World Champion. Perhaps not in 2016 as he was very lucky, but he deserved to be a World Champion Driver. Perez… are you joking! Max has only ever had one good team mate - Daniel Riccardo.
These Checo championship shouts were being thrown around after he won Monaco last year. Even if the mistake in qualifying today wasn’t his fault he will just never be on the consistent rapid pace as Max and is only close on a few track and he has a lot of bogey tracks unlike Max. Don’t get me wrong Checo is a quality driver but Max is Max which speaks for itself in my opinion and also as much as Horner says Red Bull is a 2 man team, I’m sorry it just isn’t .
lol checo puts the car in gravel for p20 in quali in australia
it's pretty much a no brainer that checo is way below max's level. I'm low-key just waiting for Danny ric's return after checo fuks up real bad lmao.
"Checo has every chance and every opportunity, even as I'm recording this before the Australian grand prix, to prove me wrong."
Well, this certainly did not age well.
Perez is the king of midifield, but is lacking at the front. The only area where he outclasses Max is in wheel to wheel battles, but he is too slow to use it most of the time. Even in tyre management Max is better because he can conservate them faster.
Yea respect to Rosberg and Botas for sure, but i feel like Saudi Arabia Sergio surprised me by beating max on sheer pace. i mean sure he didn't start on even footing, i get that. But Max got to P2 with what? 10-15 laps to go? I kept telling myself Max is going to overtake him at some point. no way he would be able to keep ahead of Max, but he absolutely did. So im not sure why your saying he cant beat him on pace, he did in Saudi Arabia. Thats my two cents. (this was before Sergio's abysmal Australia weekend though!).
Question/Video idea for you Aldas. If George finishes ahead of Lewis again tomorrow.
Is George the driver Mercedes should be prioritising now? Instead of Hamilton?
I think George has been the better driver so far this year and is only getting stronger.
I don't think they should prioritize anyone as long as they're not fighting for wins.
@@mgzns1816 But how do you know it’d be for a win until it’s too late?
@@gameofender4463 It'll depend on the weekend, if, like this weekend, George is fastest they should prioritize him, if it's Lewis, prioritize Lewis. So it's up to George now to prove that he's better than Lewis every weekend, which I believe he can!
@@mgzns1816 Fair enough. I think George is more confident about it than Lewis is.
Lewis believes he can win against George. But George knows he can as he’s done it before.
You personally made a vid, that Perez is "best of the rest" right before he moved to Red Bull. And now he is not on the level of bottas or barrichello?
Verstappen is just phenomenal and more consistent than hamilton.
Barrichello also was almost never faster than Schumacher
Barrichello was an insanely good driver in wheel to wheel and had genuine moments of brilliance, Chéco hasn't been able to even match Max's race pace once in three years.
Aldas clearly got in the payroll. The timing for this video speaks for itself
It was the same hype last year after monaco😅
Aldas actually needs to make another George video
Dude Sergio cost RB the WCC in 2021 when he couldn’t beat an outgoing Bottas,, and probably should of finished p2 last year.…Oh and Albert park has been a disaster for Checo but he’s in a fast car and anything is possible
the glazing is insane
I don't really like the phrasing of Checos success with Red bull being solely being based on outside circumstances regarding Max. Like "Well checo only won here cause max had this issue, or "Checo was in that position cause max did this." I get it adds context but it also feels diminishing to the work Checo puts in to be in those positions in the first place.
