    Good video for people to watch who are going into crna school. I decided not to go that route but have cousins doing that route. Your videos are underrated more people need to watch them. You lay out the truth and are informative. Keep it up best of luck.

    I see a lot of comments so far of people wanting to become CRNA.. props to you guys, but I believe we've all been blinded by that title. Rather, I believe where we need to divert our focus on is I want to be a solid, good ICU nurse. That way, we don't become a sloppy ICU nurse of 2 years exp.

    Josiah, you should have more subscribers. I love the content of your videos. I just graduate and I’m looking to get straight into the ICU to get the fascinating experience, and then pursue my CRNA career. Congratulations on your new start, I'm sure you will enjoy it to the fullest even if you have to burn your eyelashes (uff 😅). I wanted to ask you how many years you worked at the ICU?

    I’ve yet to be accepted to my nursing program, but my prereqs are rock solid right now at a 4.0 🤞🏽. I get what you’re saying about how the mindset of becoming a CRNA could become problematic by clouding why you’re in the profession in the first place (to help others), but I’m still making it my goal to become one the youngest ever like Aisha Allen whilst still taking in as much as possible, as I have been intrigued by the profession ever since a young age just like you. Also congratulations! 🎉

      David Munoz best of luck David! The reason i stress the importance of making it a goal to be the best ICU nurse you can be is because if you view ICU as a stepping stone you’ll miss SO MUCH that will help in the future (not you specifically, but a generalized “you”) ICU really teaches a lot of on the spot thinking, critical decision making, high level understanding, and team interaction stuff. All very important. I’m one of the youngest in my program, and I’m personally honored to be learning beside people who have put in over a decade more of critical care experience than myself. Either way get the most out of your experience, be a good team member and keep the passion!

    You motivate me so much. My CNA is done (its a pre-req here) and June I start my journey. I'm just focusing on getting towards my ADN-RN. We shall see!

    What about pediatric cardiac intensive care experience? Do you feel that would be sufficient to be successful in crna school?

    Hi! I’m about to start my A.S. Nursing program. Do you recommend not having a job during that time or will working 14-16 hours a week be okay? Thanks!

    • @davidshier1920
      @davidshier1920 Před 5 lety +3

      Kirstyn Rhoden that really depends on you. The first part of your ASN is going to be your core classes. If you're strong in general education 14 hours will be doable, but if you want to go all the way to CRNA and your GPA drops to below 3.5 panic, quit your job, and lock yourself in your room.

      @kirstynr45 Před 5 lety +1

      David Smith Hah! Thanks for the reply man. I went ahead and put in my 2 weeks already. I figure it’s better to build a solid foundation now with no unnecessary distractions since lives will depend on my knowledge, skill, and proficiency. Money will always come later. Best of luck in your career!

    Hi :) Can I ask a few questions?
    Can Crna treat pneumothorax, atelectasis and all the problems during surgery?
    Are your treatment and care authorities exactly equal to anesthesiology (including post-op) MD? What exactly are your authorities?
    Can Crna practice in intensive care and other areas?
    Thank You :)
