I hope no one takes this the wrong way just trying to debunk this kitchen myth. Lots of people say to use “high smoke point oils” often these oils like the ones she listed are actually some of the most unstable at high temperatures. Funny enough the most stable oil is extra virgin olive oil and is the best for high heat. The more you know!

It surely was not healthy eating because rapeseed oil is one of if not THE most toxic oil to humans. I cringe when I see a food scientists recommending very unhealthy ingredients such as ketchup, high omega 6 fatty refined oils, etc. to ruin the very healthy nutrient profile of an egg.
an additional tip! when things have properly cooked (like eggs for example), they'll naturally separate since the botton is already set and has formed a crispy layer. so if you feel that something isn't releasing properly, just give it a few seconds and trust the process!
most people cook them in a non-stick pan, this is about cooking them on a surface the egg would usually weld itself to (which is why most people use non-stick)
I just did this today and my eggs are perfect. The only thing I did differently was I base my eggs until my yolk turns solid (my preference). Plus I agree with the ketchup to egg ratio. Edit: I also add cheese on top of my eggs.

I also like to use chopsticks to spread the egg whites to make it thinner and faster to cook - another method without basting. You'll end up with more crispy surface areas for the egg whites.
This is the exact same method my mother taught me and from then on, whenever I make my sunny side ups, I use this method. It's super effective and the eggs are always the perfect ratio of crispy and runny.

I’ve been seeing this lately, and this is the same concept that you use when cooking with a cast iron pan. A well heated pan and a high heat point oil (like canola or veggie oil) allows for non stick cooking for things like eggs :D
I fry eggs in bacon grease in a cast iron skillet every day for breakfast and have never had eggs stick even when cooking them on low. every once in a while somebody else uses that skillet on way too high of a heat and I have to scrub it out whereas I can cook eggs and bacon in it 7 or so times and not have to clean it
I love crispy fried eggs so much. I’ve only gotten them from Asian restaurants and in Asian countries. The rest of us are afraid of heating the pan that much I guess lol
@@cameronschyuder9034 eggs do not undergo the typical maillard reaction, they have basically no sugar content and tend to become chewy and release their moisture when overcooked, and that crispy texture and flavor you're tasting is indeed *burnt* proteins. I suspect burnt eggs caught on in Asian kitchens because woks are typically used at scorching temps to avoid sticking, and there's no way to fully cook an egg at those temps without burning the sh*t out of it. It's pretty disgusting imo, but I guess the crispy texture is enough to satisfy some people.
Yeah chemically that's probably the case. But I also like this kinda crispy fried eggs especially for like a ramen bowl or even on a sandwich for texture :)
