Gene is a great guy, very smart. I happened to be part-timing at Cimarron when he sent back their (his, Wicked Felina's and Holy Terror's) first set of Evil Roy prototypes a few years ago. Probably a few million cycles between them, and a letter with the guns stated that in all that time, a single trigger/bolt spring had broken.

I'm wondering if they added Loctite to the frame screws during the "tuning" (In my experience, Uberti frame screws tend to back-out every time you run through a couple cylinder of firing).

So do the current production Evil Roy revolvers have the retractable firing pin?
My friend is looking for a cowboy gun that's safe to carry six and his dad is named Roy soooooo. :)

I had a bad experience with this company...customer support is seriously deficient. Shiny catalogs and flashy advertising but the product falls short.

The Cimarron 1875 Outlaw is the way to go. They rarely break and less problems . Go buy a Brownells base pin puller.

the '75 Remington is a fine gun, for sure. But no more or less reliable than any stock Uberti. In fact, somewhat less because it still has a flat hand spring. An ER revolver with the American springs will be more reliable, not to mention the custom sights, grips, and tuning.

Keep your Base Pin well greased and it should practically fall out when the spring bolt is depressed.

I bought two Evil Roy midified guns and they turned iut to be non-funtional. Ejector housing fell off during a match as screw threads messed up. Timing is off and had primer stricks all over but not ignite. Stricks high, low and side but not center. No help on having them corrected. What a waste when you soend more for a junk pair if guns.

If you wanted a customized Colt ,get Colts, Why waste time with a replica?

It is almost impossible to get a Colt these days. With the custom work and features the Colt will be 3-4 times the cost of an Evil Roy, and it won't work any better. These ER guns are really for shooters, not collectors.

I've been wasting a lot of time waiting for a new Colt to be available. I'm starting to see the appeal.

It sounds to me like you haven't had a chance to hold & fire an Evil Roy.
I bet the feel of quality would impress you, and mine sports a .9lb (9/10 lb) trigger.
I bought mine direct from *Gene Pearcey (The Evil Roy)* and he was kind enough to spend a considerable amount of time with me on the phone helping me understand certain aspects of the firearm.
It's my favorite, I only wish he offered one in a 5.5" 12rd new style .22 Colt 4-Click. I'd buy at least 2 if not 4-5.
