It would be great if the cardo app itself had the feature of recording the whole audio in our cellphones
As a Cardo packtalk bold user myself I just don't understand why Cardo can't add additional option to their app to record audio as you already have a phone connected to your unit. I wouldn't mind it put recording on hold during regular phone calls (legal reasons etc.), but I believe for many it would be a killer feature to choose Cardo over, e.g. Sena....

I really like the idea of 4 riders taking off on their motorcycles and being able to talk to each other up to a certain distance. I Know I'm late to this, but I LOVE this style of video! Great energy and very entertaining.
Good job. I would recommend trying connecting the 5th intercom to one of the XLR jacks on the Zoom H5 so that you can record both the intercom and also the main L/R mics for more ambient + exhaust sound in multi track mode. You can get a 3.5mm to XLR cable.

I don't understand why Sena and Cardo can't figure out how to just make their intercoms send a copy of the audio stream to your phone via bluetooth for it to record. Or to the jack plug of one rider for them to connect a recorder to it, instead of switching off the helmet speakers when you do.
Their intercoms have multi-core CPUs, which is a key selling point for them, and they would be perfectly capable of handling the multiple streams of audio.
That, and why you can't easily pair a Sena and a Cardo, and can't pair multiple Senas and Cardos at all, when the bluetooth standard has been created for just that : standardization.
Only one thing I suppose : for you to buy more gear. Looks like that's the case in this video. It's not really a hack but just you throwing more money at them for a fifth intercom and recorder.

Cardo needs to sell a receive only unit that’s exactly for this use.
My other workaround, bridge a zoom call to DMC mesh and just record the zoom call. That only works if you have cellular connection though.
Question. I went this route and on my maiden voyage to test it out after getting back to sync in post I noticed that I can start the sync but down the timeline it starts to go out of sync. The first test was not rider to rider but with my passenger and the third packtalk in the tour pak. I’m going test it out on the weekend with another rider to see what it does but just curious if you guys had any issues with syncing in post?

Appreciate the info. How does this work with sinking up the audio with the footage on the different cameras. Seems like it would make it more complex since the audio doesn't have the time stamp when gopros go on or off on each person. Like the concept though.

How did you mount the Cardo Black to the Atlas 2.0? It looks like you got the clip to slide between the liner and helmet skin. I couldn’t get that to work.
Awesome video this is helping me out a lot. Question when doing the Cardo hack when everyone presses the Button for 5 seconds and the admin just presses it does this need to be done every time you record or is it just done one time and the Carson’s remember?

Could you use a cheaper freecom 1+ as the recording Cardo using the bluetooth rider to pillion connection? I think they can join in the DMC Mesh that way via the rider with their non DMC Freecom.

Just got my first pair of Cardos and wondered if there was another way to record, but this seems to be it. I suppose if you don't have a spare, you could use an inline splitter to the headphones in one helmet, but that wiring could get obnoxious.
Good to see the Cardo packs working. SENA is terrible and that audio would consist of the popcorn audio

An idea. Use the 2nd cardo and plug the audio output into your gopro. You wont need to edit in the audio anymore.
I wish you showed how the wiring connection of the Cardo and recorder was set up. You guys kind of jumped over that.

The silence was slightly weird at first but my ears actually loved it vs having ambient noise played thru speakers in my ears. I've gotten used to it now.
Certainly different seeing you right in a group compared to your test rides.
The audio grenade was a little muffled compared to the other units but clearly cheaper and still audible.
This is a pretty cool way to get multiple audios for your videos but this is not a hack
The cardo app should have an audio recording options, or your cellphones audio recording should hook up to the car to app but either way great to have you back
trying to get all people talking together and get the voices in the video come on chase you know about Sena they do it fine
Most Bluetooth headsets act as a repeater. As long as someone keeps distance with each other the last guy will hear the first guy.
Yes, which is why that is very terrible in actual practice.
I wish the freecom 4+ had the mesh system it makes it so difficult to ride with 3 people because then one can't listen to music or be connected to the phone because the 4th is classed as a phone connection which takes up the 4 limit :(

What I did (from a TIP i got from StanTheMotoMan!) I put in a lav mic next to my Cardo Earbud inside of my helmet, put a splitter cable, so i have 2 mics in 1 helmet, that lead to 1 jack that I plug into my camera, In editing the right channel is the "Comms mic" the left channel is my "Vlogger mic" and that way i can just duplicate and seperate the channels to edit them seperately
A nice and cheap fix aswel!

I did the same thing with mine. The audio isn't perfect, but it pickles up everything that comes through the comms. Check out some of the videos on my channel if you're curious as to how it comes out. Don't mind the popping at speed... Still haven't been able to sort out that issue.

Idk why you are using buttons to create group - it should be possible in cardo app and much easier
The Carlos all work with no problems meanwhile sena can rarely get all 4 synced.

A guy from Cardo called you? Cardio has been posting this method on message boards for years as a deflection to requests for in-app intercom recording features. . I was expecting news about a software based solution on the host phone. Disappointing really.
