It pains me to say it but as a United fan I hope Arsenal win the Prem rather than City or Liverpool..

If Martin had said Arsenal could win the league if they beat city, Simon would disagree.
I think if Arsenal win at City on Sunday then they can win the League. But if City win then City or Liverpool will win it. If it's a draw then I think Liverpool are strong favourites.

Why were City players in those games?
IF Pep forces Alvarez in the midfield or sticks him elsewhere on the pitch and not the 9 as a super-sub, City will not win. IF Pep plays his best players in their best positions, then I think City have a good chance. But if Pep pulls a madness like he did v LFC, it will be a long day
You just know he will. Álvarez is undroppable for some bizarre reason, and he'll put Foden on the wing again. At least Walker's injured, so we might have a better defence.

I also don’t want to Gvardiol at LB/wingback. Every time he plays against a fast winger he’s gets skinned. Why Pep plays a yoing CB as a LB/wingback greatly perplexes me. At least Pep can’t play walker too high this game with him out. I doubt Akanji will play that high as RB. Unless Pep plays Lewis RB and Akanji in the Stones role which I don’t want to see either. Praying Pep doesn’t leave Rodri to cover the whole midfield like he did v LFC and Chelsea games as that was disastrous (yet Pep has continued).

@@MCFCTheMadHatter The solutions have been simple all season long, but he won't do it: bench Àlvarez, bench Walker, play Aké at LB (not Gvardiol), play Foden in the middle, etc. He's watched months of mediocrity and still won't change anything; I don't know what his problem is. His fetish for CBs in every position is killing us. That, and a poor transfer window. We just have to hope we can be good *enough* this season.

I had been saying since the end of the summer that City board bottled the transfer window and given the obvious needs of the team after this fall, for them to still do nothing worries me. We spent somewhere in the area of £220m. I’m fine with Gvardiol (for future as a CB and not this LB nonsense) and Doku is a wildcard, but i think he could do well long term. Kova was a good squad pick up. But we never addressed our biggest issue: Rodri cover. I’d have preferred we went and spent an additional £40m more over Nunes to buy Kimmich. I can’t think of a better Gundo replacement utility player. Hell, if the board said okay to that but you’d have to drop Doku or Kova, I’d have been with that too.
As for Pep, I wonder if he made a bet with someone that he could win the league by playing a 9 in the midfield? I mean there’s no logic behind IF selection is done on a meritocratic basis. I just hope we handle business this summer: Kimmich, Paq, and maybe another winger. Although I would like to see more of Oscar Bobb too
