Hello. Let me know if any of these methods helped, or if you found another solution.
turn them backwards and it charges for some reason when I put my blue joycon in the red slot and my red joycon in the blue slot it charges...I'm confused on why it works but it just does
It surely did help! Thank you
The 3rd method work for me thanks for helping
doooooooooood my red is bwoken soooooo ur vid no help
what do I do if my controllers are dead?
great video! I would prefer using white vinegar though, that will remove any oxidization on the pins and the rail, but rubbing alcohol is a close second
thank you i will go try that now
Lmao acid? Nah.
@@clghidra acid?! Huh
@@lucashamby2533 vinegar = acetic acid.
What about red?
I cleaned my one using a Q-Tip and Vinegar. Afterwards the controller that wasn't charging had an update. Mine had a mix of issues so just keep that in mind.
Fantastic as always!
Thanks I'll try disconnecting and reconnecting, but will this also fix controllers that lose sync randomly?
Method 4 Worked for me BIG TIME!!!! Thank you kindly!!!
Recalibrating mine worked. Thanks!!
My joycon stopped charging, but also felt a bit loose when connecting to switch. It also wouldn't register onscreen when clicking into place, as it usually does. What worked eventually, was physically squshing the joycon in my fist, forcing the black connector end into the joycon slightly. Worked perfect afterwards. Have a feeling my kids had dropped them one too many times, and popped endpiece out by half a millimeter or so.
THANK YOU THE FIRST METHOD WORKS😊
Thanks so much dude! Method 2 worked like a charm🥰
For me 2 great vid
The 1st one worked for me thanks bro💯💯💪🏽💪🏽
THANK YOU SO MUCH
METHOD 3 WORKED FOR ME 🎉🎉
THX ❤❤
Thank you so much it fixed the problem
It works I love him so much.
Method 2 temporarily worked. So what’s the issue the controller or the screen? I’m guessing it’s the screen Bc when I attach the controller to a separate controller grip it works fine. Do I have to replace my screen 🙃
Method 3 worked like a charm for me. I had to really clean out the borders of my joy-con and the physical mechanisms. I used a Q-Tip and it was so dirty. But hey, at least worked!
Edit : Forgot to say I haven't cleaned that part since I got my switch in 2019 💀
2nd edit (tbh annoying) : I used water
So you dipped the Q-tip in water? I'm also having some issues charging my controllers, but I don't think I have any alcohol or cardboard.
Yeah just dip then scrub those ditry parts, I even cleaned my joysticks with it
And I had the same problem because I didn't have neither alcohol nor cardboard
Is a wet napkin okay? I just need to know so I don't break my nintendo switch
@@eziquelaranda6310 Hey, I'm sorry for saying this, but I actually don't know, just look it up on google , I'm sure you'll know, sorry again 😅
Hopefully these tips work. My oled has been lightly used since I got it but the switch is always fully charged by the controllers sometimes are not or one is charged and the other is not.
For my situation, the mentioned methods doesnt work, but i leave my switch with joycon attached to charge overnight using original charger, it magically charged and the not charging indicator disappeared 😅
thanks for the information friend! 👍
Ty so much method 2 made them start working 🎉
Cleaning connection helped me.
Disconnect worked for me!
Thanks brotha!!
My joycan wasn't working but this video help me make it work so thank u very much
Thanks but what if it was working and then does it again?
Thank you!❤
Do i have to used alcohol for the 3rd method or can i just clean it without a liquid?
I love this video thank you
Help! My right joycon won't work it dosen't charge and it dosen't turn on.
How am i supposed to do method 2 if my joycons aren’t working?
Method 2 won't work if the battery is completely drained. However, not everyone watching has completely dead batteries. Some may notice the problem before they are dead, and some may be charging with a separate station, but notice it does not charge on the console.
Use the touch screen
@@GamingTheSystems1 chill bro don’t gotta be mad
It’s touch screen
@@itsyoman9584 how the hell is he mad
Thank you so much ❤
My old controller (with leftdrift) connect and charge fine, but my new joycons paired initially but never charged. Tried these 4 methods but nothing. Any more ideas?
the non-english native speaker in me had to pause 0:26 and google if "disattach" was a word lol
On another note, I've always been recommended to use at least 90% isopropyl alcohol (ideally 99%) when it comes to using them for electronics. some say that around 70% is okay but I think recommending 99% is good for precaution.
If all four did not work, then most likely you have one of the following:
a dead joycon battery
Corroded charging pins on either switch or joycon side
Corroded or cut/torn joycon charging ribbon cable (this is different from the joycon’s slide mounted SL/SR shoulder button ribbon cable, which go to an easily removable PCB-esque bracket secured with two screws right behind the slide; the charging ribbon cable has larger traces and goes directly to the joycon board)
I was wondering about my joycons, one will charge but seems to lose charge very quickly. And will not connect to my switch whether it is not attached or attached. But the joycon definitely turns on. But battery dies fairly quickly it seems?
Methed 2 worked!!! i'm so happy!
Thank u so much!
i’m sure it worked for other people. but just not me, thanks anyway though. guess i have to buy a new switch.
Nah just pro controller 20-40 bucks worth it I quit using my j con since they quit working on me it's been almost a year now
Thank you so much you are awesome
Hi, I did all methods including disconnecting controllers and even replacing the joycon rail. However, the switch still does not recognize the left joycon while other left joycons have is recognized. I tried buying a separate charging dock with an led that shows if its charging (red) and not (green). Yet, the left joycon shows green and won't charge only to heat up a little. Can u tell me what seems to be the issue of this joycon? Thanks!
I have the exact same problem did u fix it ?
@@Hugo88888 Same here - did you get to the bottom of it? I also replaced my rails, same issue with another controller. Even switched the batteries around between controllers now I have one that will only pair remotely and one that is completely flat and won't connect.
Same here
@@Clearical_ this might help, it fixed my issues- czcams.com/video/WuQC3ipu-qY/video.htmlfeature=shared
Same here any fix for this ?
Hi! I have such a problem.
Nintendo does not charge joy cones even at the dock.
He sees them, but he doesn't charge them. What should I do?!
One issue. Its my right one not connecting and also (hopefully) out of charge. Either out of charge or broken
I have the same fkin issue
I did method 2, but for some reason left joy-con shows me that it charges for a small bit of time and then it's again becomes white battery icon
I had an odd issue, a joycon gave me a low battery waring which I have never seen even after years since I play while charging. While checking the batter levels both joycons were shown as full but they went in and out in and out of the charging icon also the joycons them selves have been difficult to respond and needed to slide in and out a few times is this an aging joycon issue or an aging charger isue? BTW the Switch its self is at full battery. Its only left Joy con thats actin g up. Right joycon pops in and out but hasn't lost charge.
Same
Did you fix it? I’m having this same problem
@@polusocrapus1056 I did. As of 3 days ago I bought new Joycons as they did get worse. At the time of posting this however I believe my solution was to resync them from the settings menu. Holding down power for a few seconds to reset also fixes things. Going to a local repair shot would have cost $90 plus a week with out the Switch for some thing that was "Just reset" but If I remember correctly resyncing them was what did it . But lets see the post is 3 months old and those joycons just got worse. So I would say you got 3 months to replace them outright.
@@sasamichan will try that I’ve gone through 4 pairs of joycons to still save the same problem
@@polusocrapus1056 an other not Amiibo can ONLY scan on Nintendo Brand.
Mines having an issue where it'll only detect 1 of the sides and not the other the left sides got to hold the pair button down until it is found and I have to repair it literally every single time it's super annoying and makes it extremely hard to charge mine since i guess it needs be done half at a time or something cuz like IDK man this sucks they're so expensive to replace i think mine are just old they didn't really last that long only 1yr for the price not worth it I'm thinking I'll just be getting pro controllers until i can afford the new system OLED or if they make a new 1 i really hope that they do make like an Xbox One in our hand with cloud gaming and data or something for free since we already pay so much for so lil on the online thing is not really worth it yet but it would be with free like mobile data and if it was able to play next gen games not just 360 but like red dead 2 and gtav etc but it would only be worth it if it's 100% backpatible cuz like i hate that they keep making us buy all the same games again plz don't try to resell us all the games we already own n double triple+dip into man cuz really it ain't worth it to only play Mario zelda and metroid games with 3 free decent triple a games n classics like bakers baldurs gate 1,2,&3
And now my right side is just completely dead it refuses to charge light up etc IDK WTF to do this sucks I heard tho that they do a free repair but I think it's only for drugs adrift which I have that too but IDK
Yeah it happend to me i have back up controllers tho @DJdeliverance
My switch is brand new (2nd day having it) and the joycons dont charge enough for me to use them separately. So, shouldn’t already be dirty…There will be only 1 green light when detached, but once attached, they show as fully charged even though they clearly arent. If I detach again, same story, not enough juice to play detached longer than a few minutes. The system is brand new so why wouldn’t it charge the joycons enough to play detached?
thank you
Mine in method 1 i put my Nintendo switch on the doc and it was charged fully but when i took it out of the doc it went immediately straight red but everything else didn’t work
Same it's frustrating
Method two just made it to where none of my joy cons are working, and I followed the instructions flawlessly
Same
We’re you able to get them to work. Should’ve read comments before doing this
Thanks for the tips bud i just think muy left one is just broke i geuss
I have attempted all the possible methods, they still aren’t budging to charge, at all.
Damn I'm sorry
If it feels loose when clicking into switch, try pushing on the black connecter piece of the joycon hard . Mine was just slightly out of place and that worked for me
My switch controller the red just keeps going to full battery to low battery
one of my joycons said battery depleted, does this mean it has to charge or i need new joycons???
Hey i can only charge when my switch is docked do u know how to fix this?
Method 3 did the trick for me. Thank u 🙏
Dude i cant do the second one with touchscreen what do i do?!
when i tried method 2 i couldnt even reconnect my controller, wether its ded cuz i wasnt able to connect it to make switch to charge or its completley usless.
Non of em worked for me, my left joy con charges for 2 seconds, then stops. On the switch or a seperate charger. Its always empty.
Ty
Is normal that happens the first day that i buy my Console?
How can I hit the x button to disconnect if the joy controller is dead and won't charge?
Because we can't assume every viewer has a dead JoyCon, just one that's not charging. The video is trying to help as many people as it can.
so, my switch is (somewhat) broken and it wasnt charging. after i dissconected it i couldnt get my joy con to connect.
First i started playing a game my right controller ain’t workin so im stuck in the game with no right
Thank you so much! Method 3 saved my controllers!
My joycon refuses to charge, connect or power on what do I do?
Weird is when I Try to charge it it sometimes says it’s not charging. Also it’s really buggy . In 1 sec it changes from 100% to 50% to 75% abs to 25% then back to100
Yes I have the same problem. Not sure what I should do
Same problem with left joycon ....
i can’t even get it to respond my red controler is unresponsive i let it charge while i wasn’t home the blue side is fully charged and responsive but the red side isn’t and i can’t even exit the screen i was on
My left joycon is not connecting or charging and idk what to do
Mine is a month old and has stopped charging.
My right joy con is not syncing lights just flash and doesnt power on. Cant even operate the switch
My left one says either that it's fully charged or that it's not charging and when I plug out the charger from the switch it says it needs charging 💀 does the battery of the controller itself need to be changed ?
Same exact issue here
Have you guys found the solution. Same issue here and my console is only a week old...
@@loeykai2546 not yet im tempted to just replace the battery inside. Can get a new one for like 7 bucks. I can’t see how it’s damaged though. It’s barely been used.
heres a problem. method 2 isnt possible for me since my blue controller keeps syncing and unsyncing and dies really fast. i was told it was a problem with the battery inside
Same exact thing is happening to me, did you find a fix ?
@@lapismoon. no
What if I disconnect one my controllers when one is completely dead? Will it still pair? Because one of mine won’t charge and it’s completely dead.
did you ever figure it out? mines dead too
same situation
💀💀💀
@@daffpoint i just left it in my switch and eventually it magically came back, but then recently died again
✌🏿 M.E.T.H.O.D. 1 (sleep mode) seems to work, But why does it charge so damn slow. I'ma give it a few hours. Got 4 joy cons I set up on xmas, think i might gotten 1 ov them fully charged once. I gonna continue with da sleep mode method and see how it goes... I'ma eventually buy a 4 dock joy con charger i seen on Ebay. Let y'all know how it goes ✌🏿
My joycon split in 2 pieces and wont charge how fix
Method 3 worked. I used rubbing alcohol a toothbrush and a paper towel and cleaned the edges throughly.😊
After I disconnected my controllers it broke them so now I can't use my switch
But for me my right joy con isn’t charging
How am I supposed to do 2 if both of my controllers are dead?
My blue joycon just doesn’t turn on in general it’s confusing
My blue one was keep on unattaching and it still won’t work
How do you do method 2 when your joycons are DEAD AND NOT WORKING CUZ MY CONTROLLER WOTH X IS BROKEN SO I CANT DO IT
Just trying to help. Not everyone watching has a dead controller.
Okay so i have a slightly different problem. My red joycon stopped working even though it was charging. Now when i slide it in the switch, the red line won’t even appear anymore. Is this a common situation or did it just break for no reason and i have to buy another?
I have the same issue idkkk
None of these options worked for me
My left joycon isn't working at the moment
Same
Not sure how you plan for someone to do this with a dead controller
it didn't work
Nothing was wrong with my switch other than one of the handles not connecting I tried method 2 and turned off my switch now it won’t turn on 😭
Bro none of These worked until i hit the Controler a little bit...
Idk how
Only he blue controller won’t work for mine
If the battery is dead on a joycon how u ment to hold the x button to disconnect? Or even pair 😂
it worked!! thank you! i have a happy teen once again lol
I honestly think you made my situation worse. Disconnected the controller won't even make it come back on again.
My left joycon keeps disconecting and saying “battery depleted”
My red controller is not working
method 3 worked thanks
what do i do if my switch controller are completely dead
same did you find a solution?
method 1, 2 and 3 doesn't work but thankfully 4 does. The rail on my switch is loose so it doesn't charge my right joy-con. I've researched how to solve it and I finally found it.
How did you do it ?
@@kylegreen5443 i just used a screwdriver to screw the loose screw back in and the rail works perfectly fine! it still couldn't charge the joy-con so I had to order a switch charging device
Joycon only works when I’m handheld mode🤦♂️
Trying to play Mario party and it
Mines ded it wont work and more
