    To jump right to the results skip to 10:40
    A lot of you have been asking for this series to start, well it's here, we have the first 24 hours of data.
    We start out by speaking a little bit about the TNB naturals The Enhancer co2 product and how we are going to run this experiment. We are going to use a small 4x2 foot x 60-inch tent. The product is rated for a 12x12x12 foot space so this should be nothing for the Enhancer to raise the co2 to levels in the tent to the 2000ppm to 3000ppm range. We will have to wait until the end of the video to see the results for the first 24 hours.
    We used the Perfect Prime Co2 detector to run this test. We have been using this meter for the last several months and have found it to be a really reliable unit. With the data logging ,feature it really makes it easy to track our levels and makes it the best choice for this experiment. I will leave a link where you can find this air quality meter below.
    We were given a promotional code for 10% off at the link below.

    At the end of the video, we cover the data from the SD card. I took all of that data and make a chart so that you could visualize the increase and decrease in the tent

    I have the same co2 meter. I like it, I noticed however there were no plants . The readings go down significantly once you introduce plants. There is a push and pull effect with the co2 level. Same with mushroom co2 which I use.

    This is just what I was looking for. Very thorough video and nice analysis. I was thinking of taking a different approach by only putting a portion of the refill pack (I never bought the original cause it was out of stock) into the tent each morning at the beginning of the 12 hour cycle. My thinking is that it wont be wasted at night time cause I am only using a portion of it every day. The refill is 240g, so if I split it into 5 or 7 parts that will give me enough for the long haul of the week with a decent level of CO2 over that time period. Do you think this makes sense? It just seems like a total waste at night time.

      No thats a pretty smart way to do it man.. It would still be a expensive option for co2 but I believe it could be used much more efficiently this way. We may have to try it again using a similar method broken down into 10 parts and every morning mix a new batch and see what it can produce.

    Very cool test Mike i alwayz wondered how effective the tmb and other simmilar co2 producing products including diy yeast and sugar ones were at producing co2. Very interesting i wonder what those numbers would be like with a few plants utilizing the co2 as it is produced, and can the plants just soak it all up etc.. good stuff to know very interested in how long it will produce, i used the same line a couple times myself i useually just mixed my own with yeast sugar and warm water and remade a new batch about every 8 days or so i mix about a cup and a half sugar with 1 small packet of yeast in a two liter bottle filled about 3 quarters full with warm water put the mix in shake put the cap on i sometimes put half a crushed multivitamin in, i put a fish take hose in the top of the cap and have it hot glued in and have it about 1 inch in the bottle but about a foot out pointing up i use this amout in a 4/4 feet tent. Cheers.

      Hey thanks man same here I am very curious as to how well this will all play out. Those simple diy co2 generators are very popular in the aquarium industry as well, many of my friends have used them. The only thing that kinda sucks is that they are not very efficient due to not being able to stop the reaction at night when your plants are not taking in co2. I really don't think that the plants are taking in all that much co2 but it really would be interesting to find out. It would be a thought to re test with the greenhouse full of plants and try to come up with a number. but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself right now lol btw only a few more days and the 1st place winner forfeits his spot. You will take his place.. I think next time we will also draw a runner up in case someone doesn't claim their prize.

    For a normal new grower still at a loss how you control humidity and heat if you close up your tent and don't have any fresh air in to cool the tent down if the lights heat up things or if the humidity gets to high. It also would have been interesting seeing it in a 12 x 12 with plants. It would be great to see any of these co2 bags or whatever tested under normal grow room conditions. I bought 2 of the bags (not TNB) and couldn't tell how much they helped as I had to use my exhaust fan to control heat during flower.

    • @downwithprohibition7364
      @downwithprohibition7364  Před 2 lety

      Well when using co2 you do it in a sealed environment or its just a total waste, you won't raise your room above ambient co2. In your room you need an air conditioner, humidifier and dehumidifier ran by controllers to keep things perfect.. If you are venting to control other variables like humidity its a waste of money.

      @@downwithprohibition7364 It would be interesting to see how many people are using these cannisters and bags in a room that vents out when heat or humidity requires it, I did and I questioned if it made any difference. Thanks for the reply and happy growing

      @@tc3666 Its just a waste man. I was messing around with some of the tnb bottles with my blower running and I couldn't get it above ambient co2 with myself out of the room. Since we put out so much more co2 than these bottles and bags it was up by about 25ppm with me in the room.. I also tried running a 5 pound co2 tank with a controller to just see how much co2 I would need to keep a room at 1400ppm of co2. I lowered my venting to the slowest speed and I ran a full 5 pound bottle of co2 in under 7 hours lol at 25 bucks to refill its not really viable. It was coming out of there pretty fast.

  • @ronverse52
    @ronverse52 Před 3 lety +1

    if you had 3 or 4 plants in there utilizing the co2, wouldn't that effect the readings? also, the space you are testing in (48cu. ft.), is 36x smaller than the recommended 12x12x12(1,728cu. ft.). size of grow area would dramatically change these values.

    • @downwithprohibition7364
      @downwithprohibition7364  Před 3 lety +2

      The plants don't use that much co2 so you wouldn't really notice.It would be a very slight drop. But yes i was using this in a very small tent. If i were to use this in a 12 by 12 room like suggested it would be a total waste. I am very skeptical that 1 bottle would even raise the room above ambient co2 levels... If i cant keep a small 4x2 tent up to 1300ppm and keep it there well then how would it keep a 12x12 foot room to those levels. I was pretty surprised to see these results. In a small tent like that i figured it would have topped out my meter and held it there all day, Its just not what we seen. When you supplement co2 you are blasting with light over 1000 umols and feeding at a very aggressive rate. For everything to be stable or balanced you need that constant supply of co2 while the lights are on or you run into issues pretty fast.. If you are not at that high level of lighting or pushing them nutrients to the point where the additional co2 is needed then its a waste and has no benefit... We cant take out nutrients out of our soil as the day progresses to mimic what the co2 is doing. Were not going to dim our lights either. This is a make YOU feel good product but it wont have much effect on your plants. They make sales because of peoples misunderstanding of how co2 helps your plants. Don't get me wrong Co2 can do wonders for your plants but in the right conditions.

    Good effort on the test but there are a few critical mistakes made, making this test unreliable and inaccurate. You need to have lights on to make the enhancer continue to work. It’s activated by heat and light. Your test was flawed. You should have left lights on, the reason it slowed after 6 hours was it cooled down in the darkness, from the initial hot water, which should have been only warm. (You can kill the organisms with hot water). The TNB site states that the Co2 levels drop at night, which is due to cooler temp and darkness, the organisms creating the Co2 slow down in these conditions. You will get 1500ppm or more for a solid 2 weeks with the enhancer and that’s in a 5x5 tent that is vented to control heat and humidity. This wasn’t a really fair review in my opinion.

      Lol well then according to you its even more useless if you need to leave the light on 24/7. Its a useless product I get you dont want me to show you how much money your wasting but it is what it is. I wanted this to work as much as you but it didn't work plane and simple. Feel whatever way you want to feel about it but there was nothing wrong with the process. The company themselves told me I did everything right when I went to them with my findings. I wasted 60 bucks messing around with this product and every time we tested we got the same answer. Have a great day

      I was working on a video with that exact thing in mind but with the ventilation running even on the lowest setting we didn't see it going up at all. It took running a 10 pound bottle blasting out co2 for it to register. But in all reality people running co2 dont vent. they run humidifiers and air conditioners in their grow space and keep it in a lung environment. Anyone you see with those bags and so forth while venting are just making themselves feel better. if it takes a bottle blasting out co2 to make a difference what will a very limited steam of gas do from the bag or bottle... not much

    Let me save all you newbies some aggravation and money. If you are running a 100% fully sealed, climate controlled grow, then you need to go with regulated/monitored tank Co2. If you are using a grow tent, your best bet is the regular exhale bags, whether sealed or exhausted. I run 4 bags, swapping out 2 bags every 90 days, that way I have a constant Co2 level. With my exhaust fan on, on light cycle, my levels are around 850-1200, once lights switch off, levels are around 1500-2500. Yes, you can run regulated tank Co2 in a tent, but it’s a complete headache, you will be constantly trying to dial in PPM’s while battling climate control. 🌱
