MUNICH'S TOP SIGHTS (HOW TO SPEND 2 DAYS IN MUNICH GERMANY)

- Munich's top sights include Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Hofbrauhaus, Eisbachwelle, Munich Residenz, Odeonsplatz, and Frauenkirche. Join us as we spend 2 days in Munich checking out the best things to do in Bavaria's capital.
The first stop of our Munich city tour was at Theresienwiese. This is the fairground area that is home to Munich's Oktoberfest and Frühlingsfest. When we visited, Munich's Spring Fest (Frühlingsfest) was happening. This is the smaller version of Oktoberfest so there were only two beer tents instead of 16. Right across the street from the festival, we visited das Bad to try Augustiner beer.
Next, we made our way to the city center to check out Asamkirche. The Asam Church was built by two brothers and the inside is absolutely gorgeous. Walking further, we came across St. Peter's Church or Alter Peter. This church had the gem-studded skeleton of Saint Munditia. Very close to St. Peter's is Marienplatz.
Marienplatz is the main square in Munich. It is home to the New Town Hall and the Glockenspiel, the famous clock. After spending some time in the square, we made our way to the Viktualienmarkt for lunch.
At the market, we went to Schlemmermeyer's to try the popular Bavarian sandwich Leberkässemmel. Then we went to Hofbräuhaus München, the world's most famous tavern to drink their famous beer.
The next day we went to the English Gardens (Englischer Garten) to Eisbachwelle. This is where we watched surfers surf in the Eisbach River. Then we explored Munich Residenz. This is the former palace of the Bavarian monarchs. Here we also wandered around the Hofgarten (Royal Garden). Near Hofgarteen is Odeonsplatz.
At Odeonsplatz, we saw Theatinerkirche (Theatine Church) with its yellow façade and the Feldherrnhalle (Field Marshal's Hall).
After Odeonsplatz, we went to Frauenkirche, the Munich cathedral.
Our last stop in Munich was at Viktualienmarkt to see the Munich maypole.
