I think the prequals are awesome because of the nuances between the good guys and the bad guys. The original trilogy had comically good vs comically evil. On the other hand I have always felt like the original was so much more immersive and really made the world feel real and alive. The sequels for me set up some kinda interesting characters that maybe could have cool stories but then absolutely forgot about them and went out of their way to ruin legacy characters lol

A New Hope is the greatest SW film. The only one that can stand on its own with a beginning, middle and an end. At one time it was all we had and Star Wars was already the greatest blockbuster of all time

My list is the exact same, but switch AoTC & TPM. I’ve always preferred AoTC.
ROTS is and always will be my #1

Idk about that man. The starwars universe is HUGE. there's a lot of great stories that could be told. It just takes good writers.... disney seems to not want to have good writers work on their films though so I say starwars is over but for different reasons

Have you ever played knights of the old republic? there are plenty of great stories you can tell outside of the 60 or so years that movies take place over

@@stillmainingfox6881 It's just vague, shallow, uninteresting archetypes thrown into the Star Wars theme. None of the stories or characters have any life or gravity to them like Darth Vader. No depth. Just 2D cutouts on the level of fan fiction. no Skywalkers, no Star Wars.

Prequels are the worst. Dull acting, Lucas wrote the cringiest dialogue, midiclorian bs, too lazy, phantom menace doesnt even have a main character or plot

Respectfully, completely disagree. The acting in prequels is easily comparable to the OG trilogy in my eyes. Midichlorians are George’s explanation for the existence of the force in all characters. I’d agree that some dialogue is cringy, although Star Wars at its core is described by Lucas as a “Space Opera”, so although the writing is clunky/cringy, it’s fitting to the opera theme. IMO, main character of TPM is clearly Anakin, but the whole movie is about the discovery and the path that Anakin will travel, the Duel of the Fates is a great representation of the two different fates that Anakin could have. (If Qui-gon mentored him, or Obi-Wan. Which we obviously see Obi-Wan had to be his mentor and the later of the prequels shows that Obi’s mentorship was a part that played into Anakin’s fall - among so many other things). To be honest though, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I just really enjoy hearing everyone’s perspective of the different trilogies. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I will say that I think the OG trilogy is much stronger as a trilogy and story than the prequels 🤙🏼

@@thecantinaarchives Anakin only has 27 mins of screen time in PM and that movie is 136 mins long. And most of that 27 mins, he was pod racing. He wasnt making decisions that moves his arc or anything story related, it was Qui-Gon.
That doesnt sound like a main character does it?
