How To Install - Louvered Air Cleaner for CV Carburetors on a Harley-Davidson Sportster

Todd takes you step by step on getting rid of that ugly stock Harley-Davidson, "Ham Can" air cleaner and replacing it with one of our killer Lowbrow Customs Louvered air cleaners.
This classic Louvered Air Cleaner is made to fit a CV carburetor and EFI throttle body, as found on 1991-2015 Harley-Davidson XL Sportsters, 2004-2015 FXD Dyna, and 1993-2006 Big Twins. Included are a black powdercoated backing plate, paper filter, chrome louvered air cleaner cover with mounting bolt, mounting hardware and a carb-to-backing-plate gasket. The backing plate uses low-profile, stainless steel allen head bolts (included) to mount to your carburetor. This well engineered air cleaner is inexpensive but oozes style, what else could you want? Made in the USA.
The air cleaner measures 4-5/8" wide by 2-1/4" tall.

Dog Dish or 007 THE GASBOX Air Filter? Decisions decisions. I like both but I want MAX Air. 007 is larger than the Dog Dish? The Dog Dish is more restrictive?

1) will this work for 2001 XL1200C ?, 2) is the air filter washable ( reusable)?, 3) wouldn't oil residue frame the breathable bolt get on your cloth/ bike while riding??????

Probably wouldn't hurt to bump up that pilot/slow jet to a 45 since they are tuned lean from the factory

How often if at all do you need to remove the screens for cleaning ?

You won't have to worry about that, they'll be venting oily mist all the time. Your problem will be in keeping the bike wiped off.

@@boomerguy9935 keep oil level on the low side to avoid oil puking out of the breather screens and wash your pants often.....LOL

yea any sport from 84-2003 is pretty close in parts might be some subtle variations like a screw head instead of a stardrive but mainly the same
